"Had a lovely meal here a few months back, so decided to return, but unfortunately the visit was disappointing. We received a nice warm welcome. Had a seat in the bar, which I wouldn't choose, but it was ok. The staff are friendly, very young, but service was sooooo slow! We ordered our starter, which was only bread and olives and it took over half an hour to come. Our mains then arrived while the empty starter plates were still on the table. Had fish and chips fish was nice, but very greasy and chips were huge, tasteless and underdone. Dessert (when it finally came) was rhubarb crumble, which was ok, came with a lovely creme anglais. Won't be rushing to return unfortunately."

Stopped by on the off chance as we were passing on the way back to South Wales from Midsummer Norton. So glad we did. A real welcoming pub with great home cooked food. Both of us opted for the steak and chorizo pie. Wow great along with lush veg and triple cooked chips to die for. Really great venue.

Absolute gem of a find. Our room was finished to a high standard, as was the rest of the pub. The staff were friendly and chatted without being invasive. Only negatives were that it was difficult to get a decent constant temperature in the shower and when we were served our food we had to ask twice for cutlery (lad was away with the fairies I think) but this didn't detract from our good experience here. Will definitely return.
