"Service was slow, however very polite, food seemed processed and turkey looked like sliced from the butcher so thin, meat was not a slice of steak was mushed excess pieces moulded together into a round mould and cold. also Cranachan was just mush like thick yoghurt with porridge oats through it? "Mmmmmm. Used to be a really good Sunday roast before COVID. Went in a while back , last month and have to say. While the portion size is good,the veg was a huge disappointment, I’d almost say lazy cooking. Potatoes were warm, meat was hot, veg was just. disappointingly boring and like they had just scaped together what was left in the fridge, and it was warmish, but not hot. Service was great, but not good enough to get you back. The price is high, if the quality is there then would be worth it. I actually had a much better Sunday roast two weeks before in Middletons! Guess I’ll head elsewhere till the quality improves."

"I made a reservation for 7:15 PM on Saturday, but when we arrived, the staff, who were very courteous and apologetic, informed us that there was a party of 200 next door, and all of their kitchen staff were tied up with that event. They told us that it would take at least 40 minutes to get our food, regardless of what we ordered. When we inquired if it might take longer, she mentioned that the same situation occurred the night before, and she suspected it would take much longer this time as well. I can’t understand why they don’t have enough staff available to serve customers. This was a special occasion for us, as we had family visiting from High Wycombe. I had initially booked a table at the Peacock, but chose this place for what I thought would be a special experience. In the end, we returned to the Peacock Inn, which served us immediately and saved our evening. I felt really embarrassed by the whole situation."
