"I made a reservation for 7:15 PM on Saturday, but when we arrived, the staff, who were very courteous and apologetic, informed us that there was a party of 200 next door, and all of their kitchen staff were tied up with that event. They told us that it would take at least 40 minutes to get our food, regardless of what we ordered. When we inquired if it might take longer, she mentioned that the same situation occurred the night before, and she suspected it would take much longer this time as well. I can’t understand why they don’t have enough staff available to serve customers. This was a special occasion for us, as we had family visiting from High Wycombe. I had initially booked a table at the Peacock, but chose this place for what I thought would be a special experience. In the end, we returned to the Peacock Inn, which served us immediately and saved our evening. I felt really embarrassed by the whole situation."
