"Rooms OK. A bit dated. Stuffy temp wise. Bin was full of rubbish on arrival. Service is iffy. 10 min wait on arrival, no acknowledgement from passing staff. Breakfast was a 1 hr+ wait and still didnt arrive!! Its wasn't rammed for service and we heard several times about sickness etc but everything became out of order and mixed service. Breakfast we saw amounted to an undercooked sausage, bacon, egg and not much else to other guests also waiting 1hr! Everyone was baffled as to what took an hour to produce what came out. Tee pots dirty, continental basic and not replenished. Underwhelming. Lovely village."

Friendly and expedient service, a great selection of tea and comfortable seating.

Popped in for a cream tea and probably the best I've had so far, pot of tea enough for 4 cups and the scones are warmed before being served with plenty of cream and an individual pot of jam. Would definitely recommend a visit. Service: 5

We loved this hotel. We hired a dog friendly room and had a brilliant time with our German Shepherd. The room was very comfortable, like an apartment, facing the patio and restaurant. Very convenient for dogs. Rooms: 5 Service: 5 Location: 5 View menu

This is a great place for coffee, comfy chairs. In the winter there's a log fire to sit by, nothing better on a cold day than to sit and relax watching the flames. Great pot of tea and Bakewell slice Chipping Campden is a beautiful Cotswold village to explore with some great shops Service: 4 Location: 4

The location is idyllic, the rooms are dated but that’s part of the beauty it’s a bespoke classic hotel. The bar /restaurant is stunning and quaint the fire was toasty and the staff were friendly. I couldn’t ask for a better night away and would very highly recommend. Rooms: 4 Service: 5 Location: 5 Hotel highlights: Romantic, Quiet, Great value

This is a period hotel with labyrinthine corridors in need of a lick of paint leading to basic but comfortable rooms. However, the bar, the restaurant, the coffee shop and the staff are top class. Particular props to the ever attentive manager and the creative Sri Lankan chef. But everyone behaves as if they are working in a five star hotel. Their care shows. Lovely location too. Sat in the rear courtyard after looking at the display menu on outside of building. Picture of the burger piqued our interest. Ordered at the bar, 2 burgers and pint of old hookey and pint of aspells and some olives whilst we waited. Sunny position, olives very nice and food when it arrived exactly as pictured and amazing. Very juicy but didn't soak the bun. Chips, coleslaw, tomato relish, onion rings and guerkin slice all great Drinks as expected and will look to return.

A Great Choice in Heart of Chipping Campden High Points: breakfast and staff pre-ordered with cards night before, the bar and cider on tap, the cafe with a Starbucks-like feel, generally happy girls at reception Unique Points: I had the most ornate 4 poster bed in the property, room 6, and lots of little room clean quirkiness making the place super unique Low Points: no wifi for the time I was there and had to go across the street to sister hotel to sit in lobby and use their wifi; dragging bags upstairs and across uneven floors made lots of drama

"rebooked the garden space in the dormy house during the stay near the fish hotel. the environment was very warm and welcoming, and overall eating was very good. but the service was lacking and made us confused by reconciliation. In view of the thoughtful and extensive weinlist we could see one of our favourite mixes from South Africa on the menu. after ordering, and about 15 minutes later, the server back to say there was a mistake, and they put the wrong varietal on the list and wanted to serve us a completely différent wein from this manufacturer. we ordered another bottle in harmony with the food we ordered. but our appetizers came before our wine. wait another 15 minutes (we are now 30 minutes in our dinner without wine) and the waiter comes with another bottle saying that they have lost our bottle, but for us to drink this while we wait. no explanation and not even the wine she poured. that was the last thing we saw from our waiter, because somehow the room was busy and she took the other guests for the rest of the night. we finally got our wee who was brought to the table without the cork. strange practice to get a restaurant of this caliber. when we finished our dessert, we fought for 20 minutes to get every server to recognize us or to delete our records. So we went to the server station to ask for the bill. we have observed our server work at least seven different tabs before we had to go up a second time. when the bill came, the server did not even ask us how our dinner was. we gave our credit card and the other server took it away. she returned 10 minutes later to say that she lost the connection. she gave us the card back and canceled the processing statement and said she couldn't charge our card. she did not know what to do and asked if we were with him at the reception (even if we were not guests of the hotel) will not return."
