"After being seated and given menus, we asked if there were any heaters as it was very cold inside the restaurant. We were told the heating was broken, we decided that we might warm up once we got some hot food drinks. We don’t live in the area and had made the journey especially as we’d eaten here twice before. The food was good but got cold quickly as both the serving dishes and air temp was very cold. We ate quickly and asked for the bill. The waitress wasn’t very sympathetic on leaving we saw rugs on chairs near the door, which we could have been offered, or maybe they could have offered a free hot drink? We were very disappointed with our visit and found another eatery to have our dessert coffee. Such a shame as previously it had been very good."

"We went on a Saturday night but had pre booked. It was busy but not overly. It took 5 minutes to be acknowledged, a further 5 to be seated, 20 minutes for our order to be taken and roughly 45-50 minutes for us to receive (some) of our order. Given we had a 2 year old with us was a bit frustrating as by the time the food came, there was no interest in eating. We were looking for where the food was cooked and more than disappointed with it being microwaves in the centre of the restaurant. Staff in “kitchen” were on their phones and unbothered about getting orders out. We didn’t even receive some of our order, which hadn’t even been taken off the bill. The food was cold, staff didn’t care for our custom and food “cooked” in a microwave-oven. Not worth the £6-£10 for each dish"

"As lovers of tapas and paella, myself and my husband were excited to visit here on a date night away from our children. We ordered a mini paella each, garlic mushrooms, bread board with Alioli, spicy potatoes, calamari, meatballs and more (I can’t remember specific names as they were on the menu . We had to send all our food back it was like bland baby food that you buy ready made. I’m not sure what we were served but that was not tapas (and certainly not paella! . We know we’re not in Spain but as it’s a ‘proper’ restaurant that supposedly specialises in Tapas (it’s literally in the name , we thought it would be a good standard. I make better paella/tapas at home and we’ve eaten MUCH better at other places. Our waiter told us it was all cooked fresh and then when we double checked, he said it was all reheated food. (We guessed as much as we couldn’t see proper cooking facilities when passing the kitchen, just microwaves and ovens . It was so bad that I lost my appetite for the rest of the night, the thought of eating made me feel sick."

"Ate here several years ago and we were impressed so were looking forward to a long awaited return. It was, however, somewhat disappointing. The staff and service was fine but the food was not up to the standard of our first visit. The Patatas Bravas were OK but served with a meagre portion of alioli; Tiger prawns resembled regular supermarket (frozen) prawns; meatballs were good and the anchovies were nice. Perhaps we were expecting too much but, on this occasion, the food was only so-so and far more like the standard you'd find in a large chain restaurant."

"this happened on Saturday, December 3rd, 2022, at 17 o'clock to 7 o'clock. the food was ok. but what made it unbearable and uncomfortable was the setting of the manager / the hostess. from the minute we went, we felt as if our annoyance was undesirably and throughout our meal their attitude was shameful. there were errors made with the total cost of the meal we noticed and had to be adjusted twice. we were calculated almost 20 pounds more than the original amount. what we had to correct. with which the hostess/ manager asks for the full service fee. she was extremely rude and repulsive. ridiculous!"

"The cocktails were exceptional—some of the best I've ever had in this country. The food was good as well, but I felt it was quite pricey for what it was. We did have to follow up on a portion of our order, but the staff handled it very politely and were incredibly friendly. Fortunately, the item we inquired about was deducted from our bill without us needing to ask. I would definitely come back just for the cocktails!"

"Sharing dishes were perfect for our party of two. The Cassava chips were amazing. The corn ribs were a pleasant surprise, swimming in butter and paprika. I never knew halloumi was Brazilian, but it was delicious served in yogurt with cucumber and pomegranate. The cassava and buttermilk churrasco roasted chicken came with aioli and Malagueta sauce for dipping, part of the Aroma Festival. The only downside was our waitress who seemed to misunderstand us, leading to some confusion with directions. The loud dance music could also be replaced with something more appropriate and smoother."

"Dove’s brings a unique, lively Tex Mex flair to traditional diner food and vibes, and the service is excellent. The dishes are fresh, flavorful, and come out fast. It’s kind of pricey, but the portions are large and filling and my group of 4 had some leftovers afterwards. Make a reservation if you can— seating is limited and it gets quite busy for brunch especially on weekends. Food I tried: Taco Norteno (4.2/5): The brisket in the taco was delicious, flavorful, and well seasoned, but I wasn’t a huge fan of the tortilla which felt too thick and dough y for me. Tlayuda (4.3/5): I enjoyed the crispiness of the tortilla and the freshness of the ingredients, though it could have used a bit more vibrant flavors. It was simultaneously light and filling. Brisket Hash (4.4/5): Great flavors all around. The potatoes were crispy and well sauced and the brisket was meaty and umami. Masa Pancakes (4/5): Probably my least favorite out of everything we ordered, but I’m also just not the biggest fan of pancakes. The flavors here were just okay. — Price (relative to peers): 4.2/5 Food: 4.2/5 Ambience: 4.8/5 Service: 4.8/5 Overall Value: 4.4/5"

"Visited O2 Las Iguanas and was just disappointment after disappointment. First of all we were left waiting at the podium for nearly 10 minutes and ignored. The group in front of us just walked off... what a big mistake we made staying. I walked inside the restaurant to see what was going on and to see if there was a seater, one person acknowledged me after a few trips passed me. He told me that if I want to sit outside I can just go grab a table and order via the QR code. Is this the customer service that we are facing these days? Disgusting! We selected the least dirty table outside, as they were all dirty and unattended with dishes and glasses left from previous customers. I was accompanied by 2 older people, so a QR just wouldn't do, so I had to go back in and grab some menus myself. Then I took their order and placed it online. Nobody came to clean the table or say hello. The first interaction we had was when we received the drinks and the lady apologized for the state of the table and promised she would return to clean it for us. Seconds later our food shows up also... no one returned to clean anything, so we had to use our own tissues and sanitiser to clean everything, so we can eat on a clean table, C-19 free potentially too. The food was OK, but the sizzling chicken was not sizzling, it was lukewarm and my chicken was stale... God knows how many months it's been in the freezer. We ate peacefully and left, repulsed and revolted at the state of the place, the customer service, food and the cheek of charging us a service charge. Can someone please explain to us what the service charge was for exactly? Looking forward to your response at your earliest convenience."

"Taste and food not very subtile and quite disappointing – would be alright if the bill was not 70£ for two. I don’t understand how some reviews could say this is close to their best Mexican food experience in the UK? What? Tacos and guacamole are a bit refreshing, but far from being mind blowing. The “snacks” are a bit of a joke. Margaritas are not made freshly and at the minute, which is once again very disappointing considering their prices. Finally, eating on disposable plates with disposable cutlery is far from being cool, especially inside a restaurant? Everyone working there is very nice though, which is appreciated. Stil, I doubt I would be coming back."

"Beautiful Mexican food, good variety and high quality, quick and friendly service, and a perfect place upstairs to sit and enjoy your quesadilla or bigass burrito! I honestly can't understand why there are such enormous queues to some dull American-style tortilla place on a neighbouring street, when there is a lovely Nanna Mexico just round the corner!"

"WOW! I really fancied a proper burrito for lunch and not from a fast food outlet where there is no character or flavour to the food! A quick google search pulled up this little food outlet in the indoor trinity market in the old town! its been a long time since i have been in here and its changed so much! We ordered 3 different meat filled burritos and we all enjoyed them. They were well filled and contained lots of meat! All the burritos were freshly prepared to order. You are given an electric buzzer which indicated your order was ready so you can sit and chill. The burritos only cost £5 each and for the size of them i feel this is a bargain! We did also try the Jarritos Mexican cola and to be honest for £3.50 I wasn't impressed. I'd recommend either a normal coke or a different flavour of Jarritos if your feeling lavish. The service from the lady was very friendly and helpful too Overall a very enjoyable lunch and plenty of dessert places for pudding!"

"Feels odd giving five stars to a tiny cafe with plastic seats out the back. But then, there's a reason the plastic seats and lack of plates don't matter, and it's the same as the reason you'll see a huge queue form out the door at lunchtime. El Burrito mostly does takeaway, and that queue moves very quickly once they get going, so don't be put off. My colleague and I discovered this place while working in the area, it became a struggle not to be going there every day. Staff are efficient and friendly, and they operate a very good system to get people served quickly. The burritos are absolutely delicious, especially if you grab a handful of nachos and a can of weird fizzy agave and plonk yourself in the back. You can then dare each other with fire-hot chilli sauces. The food actually comes down from their parent restaurant, Mestizo, just up the road. Also a truly excellent dining experience."

"Tasty Mexican fare!!. Last time I was in London, I wanted to check out Benito's Hat, having heard it had authentic Mexican food... tacos, burritos, even bunuelos!! Well, it was delicious. My dining partner and I built our own burritos from the bottom up... she tried the chicken, while I had the pork. Meat was seasoned to perfection with Mexican spices, without being too caliente, and the yummy toppings like guacamole, salsa, and veggies made the consistency perfect! It being almost the coctail hour, we both had a margarita, and they were also perfect... margaritas on the rocks you would expect to get in Mexico! Mmmm.... I went back twice!"

"There were 2 or 3 things that were very good... The Al Pastor Tacos and The Baja Fish Tacos. Would return to eat these. It prides itself on being based on Mexico City, but having been to Mexico City (and other places like Oaxaca can safely say this is not that far removed from Chiquitos type TexMex. The Sharer Dish of Sea Bream was Ok, not bad, but nothing better than Ok. Dessert was meh. (Mexico City...?? Where are the Churros? The Marquesitas? The flan? The Tres Leches? Just overpriced BS like passion fruit cheesecake and chocolate tart etc. In short: would come back and eat the Al Pastor Tacos Fish Tacos... Pass on nearly everything else."

"It was a cold evening and I fancied a spicy, hot meal ... and Mezcal caught my eye, just across the street. Staff were welcoming and I was able to sit anywhere as the place wasn't very busy. The food and drinks menu is fairly typical of a Mexican restaurant. As soon as I ordered, two young children at a nearby table started to play up, shouting and jumping on chairs. The parents were hopeless, presumably thinking their children have a right to spoil everyone else's dining experience. The children then began running around the tables, shouting and screaming. The older child pushed a younger child over deliberately, but still nothing said by the parents. While this is not a fault of the restaurant, they lost at least two people who came in, but then thought better of it when they saw these out of control children creating havoc. My food arrived, it was barely warm and not particularly tasty. A glass of white wine was also served warm. Service was pleasant, but really slow, so goodness knows what it would be like if the place was busy. But maybe it never will be, I certainly won't be going back."
