"My first impressions were not good, the pictures on the website do not match inside the restaurant, because it is old decor inside. I felt like I walked into the wrong place! The menu offers mostly pork options, hardly any chicken or fresh seasonal veg. The actual menu is tacky in plastic wallets, this doesn't make a good impression of a high end place. The ice cream tasted like it had been in the freezer 2 years. The waiter brought out our food separately so some food was cold and some was hot, this is such bad service. They were hardly anyone around, we were left waiting to pay when another party came in to eat. Toilets had no tissue, I had to go back upstairs to ask for toilet paper! How bad! The toilet bins were over flowing and general mess put me off my food. Overall this is 1/5 and I wouldn't go back."

"I ordered from Wan Choi for the first time today and my family and I were not disappointed. We have been stuck ordering limited items from most Chinese takeaway restaurants as we only eat halal. I was pleasantly surprised to find Wan Choi online one evening when I was scrolling though a list of restaurants near me that offer halal food. I read through quite a few of the reviews on google and found most of them to be very positive. I ordered though Just Eat and set a delivery time. I received a call back from Wan Choi just after they opened and they asked if they could deliver a little earlier as they were very busy. The gentleman I spoke to was very polite and professional on the phone and I agreed to the earlier delivery time. The delivery was made at the exact time stated on the phone and all social distancing measures were taken. Driver confirmed the name on the order so as to not deliver to the wrong address and left. The food was all well cooked, sufficiently seasoned and tasted freshly prepared. We ordered quite a few different dishes as we wanted to really try them out. I hope they are consistent with the service and quality of food as our first experience was great. We will be a returning customer for the foreseeable future. I would highly recommend Wan Choi to anyone who only eats halal but also to anyone who doesn’t care either way."

"We went there with family to celebrate my husbands birthday. Everyone loved the food kids and adults. All courses we had were very tasty no matter what we tried. Desert was soon good and one I never seen before elsewhere #deep fried icecream Plus the...owner brought a small cake with light candle for my husband, it was great touch and very unexpected. Prices very affordable , great atmosphere and the food quality and flavour unbeatable. Its best Chinese food I've ever tasted to date. Recommended Everyone to try. We keep going back there and will be back soon again."

"If I could give this place less than 1 star I would. I ordered at 6:45pm and they told me food would arrive by 8pm (which is already a very long time). When the food did come, only 3 items out of 7 were there and those 3 items were cold! I rang this place and told them the situation and they were extremely rude to me. After a while they agreed to send the missing items but it is now 2 hours later and nothing has come! I have tried to ring them for the last hour and it always says User Busy! They have stolen my money and done it with no shame! Do not order or eat from here"

"This place is AMAZING. Such a hidden gem. In two minds about reviewing because I don't want this place to get too popular and then we can't just rock up and get a table... We went last week for a Saturday lunch to treat ourselves and felt super safe and spaced out from the others. It was a rainy day so it wasn't busy which was ideal for us! We ordered lots of different things including the vegetable tempura, spring rolls, veggie gyoza, vegan tofu lunch bowl special, and duck pancakes. I'm vegan but my husband isn't and my veggie food was incredible literally the best veg tempura I've ever eaten and I have tried that dish from every restaurant imaginable, so it's the highest of compliments. Their smoothie was delicious and my husband enjoyed the floral tea he ordered I can't wait to come back with my friends!! The service was lovely, the value for money even better and my mouth is watering just thinking about the food I had there. Thanks so much Itto <3"

"I went here with my gf for mum, I really enjoyed it and it seems dona good trade supply food to all the demand I saw to eat a series of chaps. the dimme sum was freshly tasting, it was very tasty and I sometimes underestimated how temperature hot it would be and I had to wait until I had to cool down. I'm from hongkong and I was impressed with the food. the ribs had a beautiful sauce they had in their mouth tender flesh. the siu mai well made and freshly made. the crispy pork bauchnabel bao was beautiful because the skin was so delicious and crispy in a white bao. the sweet fish cakes were so pleasant I ordered two plates. the dizzying dumplings were very well filled. they had nothing sweet, which I would recommend, because the fried milk bars were not on camp. excellent service the ladies there were so beautiful and polite. they made sure we were good at lunch. I really enjoyed myself and also my English gf. when they enjoyed my review and found it helpful, please press it like. Many thanks."

"I only found this place by chance last week and already eaten twice from there. eating is amazing, so tasty and much of it too. the staff is great, friendly and serves the food very quickly. there are always customers who are a great sign. they will need a larger building if they keep it. all succeed in bento bab, well done all."

"This restaurant has now changed its name to Blue Bamboo. We had a great dinner here, the food was amazing as usual much nicer than your average Chinese restaurant! Try the dim sum basket and the sweet and sour King Prawns FANTASTIC! Note also, you get 25% off dinner (excluding Dim Sum), which is a nice bonus, although I don't know why they don't just make the menu 25% cheaper. I would not recommend desert here as it is overpriced around £8.50. Overall a great place!!"

"This place changed to worsen, I'm surprised it still standing. Upon arrival at the door, a4 paper tape it to the door saying Pay before you eat . with is fair enough, as you approach the staff they take you straight away to the bar so you pay for your meal, they take out the unlimited pop drinks with you need to spend more money. £2.80 for a pint of coca cola that didn't even taste like the genuine one, more like water down and the cheap ones you get from supermarkets for less than 50p, ridiculous. So the table for 2, they took us to the busiest and loudest corner, even when we politely ask if we can be seated in a quieter table. Staff looked at us funny and said no. With we founded very rude. As soon you sit down at the table you've been observed like crazy! whenever you go the staffs and manager has eyes on you. On the walls, there is a notice poorly made written by hand and once again a4 paper saying you can eat from 12 noon till 5.30 pm if you stay longer you be charged! very passive writing. This place has zero maintenances, you can see dust everywhere especially of the curtains I don't think they ever been washed. Mould at the ceiling and the walls you can spot from miles, not to mention poor chairs and tables. Cutlery is not presentable I had to wipe in the napkin before using it. Food buffet variety is nothing special and the desserts are horrible, cheap icecreams, most of the desserts are from supermarkets, they left in the trays for god knows how long. (You never know you might eat out of date food). Plates are chipped, some of them wet. Bowls bearly any. I and my partner agreed that the food was over salted and had too much pepper inside. It's a cheap Chinese if you can call that, use to be alright but now it's just a no, we won't be back here again. Prices for the buffet are somehow ok for lunch but then you need to spend more on drinks with the bill could be expensive. Lunch Monday Thursday £7.5 Adult £4.5 Child, Buffet at the evenings seems overpriced: Monday Thursday Dinner (5:30pm 10pm) £8.5 Adult £5 Child Friday Saturday: Lunch (12noon 5:30pm) £8 Adult £5 Child Dinner (5:30pm 10pm) £9.5 Adult £5 Child Sunday All Day and Bank Holidays (except good Friday): 12noon 10pm, £8.5 Adult, £5 Child What we noticed many people left leftovers, including myself as I had undercooked potatoes. The way this business is going soon or later they will charge you for leaving leftovers! As we were leaving the restaurant all staffs including manger had eyes on us, felt like they not trusting us. It's terrible to feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. After the food, we both had stomach pains and my partner felt sick, we unsure what could have been caused by it but we know for sure we go elsewhere and pay a little bit extra to have a proper Chinese rather than this that makes you sick."

"This is my second visit to this restaurant with my friend and once again we had an excellent meal. The service was also great. The restaurant has a cool decor and a very relaxed atmosphere. We tried two cocktails and they were delicious. I would highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be returning soon."

"the firefighter offers a spicy alternative to the otherwise bare and blanching alternatives in and around milbank towers. I just tried the food offers. the idea was to try every combination. now, I find the meal offers the best value for money in the restaurant. just letting was the huh teriyaki it was sweeter than usual. food 3.5/5 service 4/5 ambiente 3/5 the seat is comfortable, but the interiors are too dark for my pleasure. I recommend this place"

"After reading some poor reviews I was a little worried about ordering from here but I honestly needn't have been. I ordered my usual chicken curry, egg fried rice, chow mein, prawn crackers and chips. We also ordered some chicken nuggets and cheesy chips for a fussy teenager who's not big on Chinese food! Everyone was really happy with their orders! All very tasty, the curry had lots of chicken and the chow mein was full of flavour. Overall couldn't really fault it and will definitely be using Bento Box again."

"If I could rate this restaurant 11/10 I would! My sister and I brought my mum here to celebrate Mother’s Day. We came on the Monday to avoid it being too busy and it was perfect. A lovely quiet atmosphere. It was our first time here and it definitely won’t be our last! The food was superb! We are fussy eaters but we loved every single dish that we had! Our favourites were the satay chicken, super flavoursome and well cooked , prawn and chive dim sums just wow! , salt and pepper prawns and prawn noodles. From the dessert menu we chose the mango cheesecake and the fried custard buns. We were in heaven! Absolutely delicious! We were offered Jasmine tea too which was a lovely touch! The staff were very welcoming, friendly and super attentive. I wish I got their names as they were lovely and deserve to be recognised for their service. We can’t wait to visit again and recommend it to our friends and family!"

"Plum Valley was new to me having eaten in and around Soho for decades. There were new and different dishes to try, loved the decor! Staff were extremely efficient but also friendly. My friend and I sat upstairs at lunchtime on a Saturday and it felt calm and quite quiet although most tables were taken and we were unrushed. We had some unusual cod ‘nests’ served with a delicious mango sauce has to be tried ! We paid just under £50 per head but that included a whole bottle of a lovely light rosé….."

"Dear Hei Hei, I will definitely come back. However, when I arrived this time, I was surprised to find a closed sign on the door due to a change in management. Looking back, I realized I had not received a confirmation of my booking. But how could I have booked when the restaurant was closed?"

"In general, I would advise against ordering Chinese food from Farewell to Bristol, as I’ve had many disappointing experiences with it being too fatty and salty. However, Aromas is fantastic! The food tasted incredibly fresh and flavorful, and I really enjoyed it. It arrived slightly earlier than the expected delivery time, which was a nice surprise, but I would have happily waited the full hour. I will definitely be ordering from them again!"

"A friend recommended this place to us. We have been in search of a good thai place in Bournemouth. Upon entering we were welcomed by the good ambience of a small fish pond and a nice server. We put in our orders which is a green papaya salad and spring rolls. The spring rolls was okay, but the papaya salad was amazing. It had that heat that I’ve been looking for in asian dishes. My husband who is not fond of fish sauce slurped the sauce of it. And then I ordered Pad Thai for mains and he ordered the drunken noodles. First bite and we were mind blown. It was amazing!!! The flavor profile and the mouth feel was just spot on. And the prices were great too. 2 starters and 2 mains was for less than £40. This is our new favorite place in Bournemouth. This place is so underrated."
