"Shimogano opened in 2013 in a parade of shops on Camden Parkway. It is named after an ancient Kyoto Shinto shrine that is a UNESCO world heritage site. The restaurant has a small dining area and bar at ground level, the main dining room being in the basement. The décor is fairly basic, and the restaurant serves a wide variety of Japanese cuisine styles, from sushi to tempura to noodles and beyond. This slightly scattergun approach is normal in London but unusual in Japan, where most restaurants specialise, sometimes to an extreme degree e.g. some restaurants serve only eel, or only tonkatsu. It must be difficult for any restaurant to really master such a wide menu. See more at:...read more"

"what a great little supplement to the greenwich food scene. Actually, it is not so little, but it is really great, especially if you consider how central it is to the tourist scene in greenwich it is expensive, not me wrong. if they are planning to come here, they make it for a Friday night, for a party, for a start. Do not do what we did, what appeared on a Monday night, just because we accidentally have no food in the refrigerator, the kind of feeling just does not do it just. the place has a funky and hip feel about it. also the menus look cool and stylish. they have a great drink selection also for the non-trinkers among us and know that I have a naughty week of eating, I...read more"

"My second visit here after 2 years, food is still good in quality. The reason I didn’t give 5 star is because I think this Japanese restaurant is like an average Japanese restaurant we can find in Asia. Food is good quality. Service is good as well. The sukiyaki, Godzilla roll, beef rice are equally good. Will definitely come back again."

"The Japanese restaurant offered a wide variety of dishes. We ordered a platter, katsu curry, seaweed as a starter, prawn tempura, and seafood gyozas. Everything was delicious and served promptly. The service was excellent, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. The menu had a large selection of options, ensuring that everyone would find something they enjoyed. Overall, a fantastic dining experience."

"This is the second time I’ve been to Sticks’n’Sushi and and it was just as good as the first time. The food is delicious and the service is quite good too. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere which lends itself to a date night or nice dinner with friends without feeling too formal or pretentious. It’s not a cheap meal out but it’s definitely worth the money. We went for the ‘as good as it gets’ set menu (I recommend picking one of these as they have some really good selections). We also shared a bottle of wine between 3 and it came to £72 each including the tip. The wagyu beef skewers are incredible and by far my favourite thing on the menu. An absolute must-have if you eat beef. The only downside I’ve experienced both times when going to the branch in Wimbledon, is having to wait quite a while to be seated even when you have a reservation. A bit of a let down, but things got a lot better once we were seated."

"nomu is a fantastic place to enjoy some Japanese food and a beautiful atmosphere and drinks and I would definitely try it as one and I would certainly return to the future. my very good rating is up to the fact that I...feel this is a place with drinks as primary focus, the cocktail menu looks fantastic (although we did not try) instead to decide for bier and sake (which also has a great choice). eating was also great, we decided to go for a tapas style tasting, choice for gyoza, squid and karaage. all delicious, but not as good as possible. for example, the karaage seemed very exactly like chicken strips that were freed and had no real taste. the same applies to the gyoza and squid, although tasty and definitely pleasant, it feels like a second thought and lower it the priority list. if you want to go a great selection of drinks and some Japanese dresses on the side, nomu is a good choice. if you are main aim to find somewhere that does authentic, delicious food, just like when they were in japan, this is probably not the place, although I like to go back to try the main dishes."

"This restaurant serves the best sushi we have ever had, and we have tried sushi from all around the world. We just finished our meal a few minutes ago and I was so impressed that I felt inspired to write this review right away."

"Located in a small alley just outside the main town, Yen sushi was a great find. The staff were very welcoming. Food is great and just like a few other sushi restaurants, depending on the colour of plat you pick up determines it's price. For me and Mt partner we spent £50. The quality of food was great, although I feel the presentation of some dishes weren't great or consistent. You can also order hot food, the only thing I thought was weird is the waitress would bring empty plates with your hot food to represent its worth rather than just making a note to the table this did take up space on the table which then made it a little tight for other orders. Despite the above this still a great visit. Be sure to drop by if your about. If your a regular sushi eater, you may the fish to lack in quality."

"We entered the restaurant to be told that they only had a limited menu of 10 dishes, which was extremely disappointing as they had no dishes that we wanted to order and we could not leave as we had booked it over a credit card. The waiter was extremely arrogant and not at all helpful. The portion dishes were minuscule and fit for a mouse. There was no flavour in any dish whatsoever. Two of the guests were vegetarian and all the vegetable dishes had a flavour of meat as it was cooked on the same grill. The top that we were told we only had the table for a limited amount of time."

"A fantastic place for ramen, small menu, but they offer top quality. A bit uncomfortable with the service, the venue is extremely small and the staff was therefore on our table to watch us. Drinks we ordered never came, but they delivered water as soon as we sat what was very friendly."

"We went for the all you can eat option, the food quality was good, food selection was also nice. My only concern is that there wasn't enough of a selection of raw fish for me, but enough for me not to be disappointed, and everything...was good for the hot selection, a couple of things could be improved on but nothing to complain about. When selecting the food you select what you like on the paper and put a number as an indicator in how much you would like. A small recommendation to the restaurant would be is when giving the food they should introduce the food so you know what you was eating, as we got some food we didn't order and we became full from things we wouldn't have necessarily have picked. Although great for a large group I think the experience would have been even better as a small group, less confusion and easier to order as it can be a little difficult if everyone likes something different, but its still a great experience. The staff was very friendly and made you feel very welcome, not at all rushed which is nice for an all you can eat. Would definitely be returning soon."

"my ever worst meal. this visit began badly and went down from there. first I was led as a solo dinner to a small table at the rear dining room. that was so dark that I couldn't read the menu. I asked myself to sit near the window, but was rejected as these empty tables were only for groups! I should have really stayed there and then how worse it was to follow. When my meal arrived, it was in a black bowl that was then put on my black table. at this point I tried to see what I had eaten. I found out soon when I put the bark in my mouth. it was so gristy and fat that I almost broke. to add insult to injury, I was humiliated by the workers who...read more"

"While the food was delicious, the chef is quite inflexible. We simply wanted to make sushi rolls with cooked/tempura salmon, like other sushi restaurants offer, but he refused. The service was slow, and the prices were very high for sushi. My advice is to be a bit more flexible with the menu, adjust prices to be more reasonable, and perhaps hire more staff. If you do, you would likely have a full house every night!"

"Read a few very positive instagram posts about Lagu and I have a very high expectation and look forward the visit, indeed, Lagu didn't disappoint me, I ordered the teriyaki karaage don, the deep-fried chicken (Japanese karaage) mixed with teriyaki sauce and with Japanese mayo on top. For me it's a bit salty as they have marinated the chicken so well, with extra teriyaki sauce made it a bit over-seasoned, don't get me wrong, I loved it My husband ordered the chicken combo curry, which has chicken karaage and Japanese curry, with soft boiled egg on top, my husband also very satisfied with his choice, I tried the original chicken karaage and it was very tasty, it was the best karaage I have tried in London They served the multigrain rice which got the extra marks I am Asian and travelled to Japan for many times, it's really authentic and delicious."

"Greatest Hangover Cure!. After heavy night out, what i really needed to get me back to form was a big bowl of ramen. Tonkotsu east by Haggerston station was a saving grace and a great addition to the area. Went with a friend and loved the space which is right under the overground rail line. Staff was friendly and attentive. Ordered the Chicken gyoza, Crabmeat Korokke and we both had the Tonkotsu ramen. The Crabmeat Korokke was great, like croquettes its served with delicious mayonaise. I could eat these for days. The Gyoza came out next but with no sauce, then i realized you had to make your own sauce from the table soya, vinegar and chili oil. This was nice as we like it hot and you can...read more"
