"Food was amazing and worth every penny! service was great until they had a shift change and we were left unattended as we had eaten by then, we had to chase for the bill and when asked it wasn't met with any words just a grunt. the original lady serving was great, she was lovely and chatty and was super. they had a good selection of drinks however this was a Saturday evening and they has run out of all sparkling wine that was served by the glass. One change i would make is to have more wine options by the glass rather than having to purchase a whole bottle. i was the only one of my party which was drinking wine and wouldn't have wanted a whole bottle to myself. overall great experience and food was amazing just a shame about the last part of our service and the lack of drink available considering it was a Saturday evening"

"Had lunch here yesterday. What a gem. Please book, always busy by the looks of it we were in Chester for the day. Staff where very friendly the interior is quirky and lovely. Had the vegetarian breakfast was delicious, was also great that tea is served in a pot with china cups and you get more than one cup out of the pot. Had a delicious dessert too and an espresso Martini with a shot of hazelnut. Delicious the best I have had. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting Chester to eat here was lovely. Will definitely be returning again."

"my wife and i live in eastbourne, however we make the journey to this Harvester in Polegate instead due to many factors the main one being the workers. we’ve visited this particular harvester 3 times so far as a couple and each time had a different server, ALL who made the entire visit more comfortable and easy! we had to order slightly awkward vegan things too and that’s enough to make any server annoyed but on every occasion we’ve had nothing but smiles and a ‘can do’ attitude (as cringey as that sounds). a special shout out to Nicole who helped us on this trip particularly who dealt with our requests with no push back in the slightest and even spoke to the kitchen specially for us to make sure there was no confusion! Dietary restrictions: wonderfully accepting and careful in fulfilling these requests. "I had a fantastic evening with my partner and family last night. We was showing to our table with a smile and felt very welcomed. Linda the lady looking after our table was such a lovely lady. She made sure we had everything we needed and checked on us to make sure all the food was good. The staff wished me a happy birthday and didn't mind we brought our own cake with us for dessert. The atmosphere was so relaxed and we had a laugh. Linda was truly amazing and we will be back again soon. We were appreciated the whole time. Keep up the amazing work and please give a huge thanks again to Linda for me."

"Service was slow, however very polite, food seemed processed and turkey looked like sliced from the butcher so thin, meat was not a slice of steak was mushed excess pieces moulded together into a round mould and cold. also Cranachan was just mush like thick yoghurt with porridge oats through it? That was a major shock and in a soup bowl? Def need to check the recipe on this, one chipolata too. All food was just warm nothing special. Christmas menu yet no crackers? No one asked if we enjoyed our meal even when the dessert wasn’t eaten"

"The decoration was great... That's pretty much that. The food was a tasteless mixture in between cement and disgust. The nachos were horrible, the cheese wasn't even melted at all. After 2 minutes on the table the cheese started to cut up and to form small balls of cheese. When we told the waitress she said that she will pass the message to the kitchen, and that's it. The Mac n cheese had crumps of something very funny looking on top, as long as I remember it wasn't mention on the menu, and to be honest, a pinch of salt would have save it, maybe. The burgers were floating, like literally floating in oil, and the bacon was falling in pieces on the plate. The worst part was that the Yates in front of us was full of people while this place was fully empty, we could have spent our 28 pounds there instead."

"I recently visited the Harvester with my Mum, Dad and Niece, and am full of praise for this restaurant, and their staff. I don't usually leave reviews, but an exception must be made as the food, service, and cleanliness was tip top. My niece is two so is naturally very active, the staff were superb in accommodating to her needs, and even engaged with her, which she LOVED! Rachel and Jablu are prize assets to this branch, they were amazing from the minute we stepped in, to the moment we left, a true testament to a fantastic chain. Needless to say, we will be returning soon! Oh and the halloumi skewers are incredible. Great experience, great evening, and a massive thank you once again to Rachel and Jablu"

"Unfortunately the Sunday menu has shrunk yet again only choice of beef or pork now if wanting a roast lunch, Food arrived in a timely manner but lukewarm. Terrible issue with flies not enjoyable having to keep swatting them away from Food and drinks. Service charge added to bill ...why , it should be customers choice to tip, not to be made to feel uncomfortable if you don't Want to. Tipping used to be because it was poorly paid, minimum wage changed that, I did ask if the servers got the tip and they do and the server said they work hard so deserve it, ummm they are being paid to work hard. Seems to have had a big change of staff, unfortunately put of going again."

"we waited 2 hours for a table when we just came to the table, they said that they had no ribs that were annoying after we had waited for that long, and after we ordered some extras where forget, then we got desserts there was no icecream. that are 99% of all gloomy when we talked to the manager, she has been telling us about these cursed things. I'm an enthusiastic harvester fan, but that was the worst experience from this chain, after this since 730 we've finished around 1035. this harvester should really look into the customer service and if they want a good meal and at night they will not go to this pub."

"We have been visiting are local harvester , for all our special celebrations ie Birthdays etc and have always been made welcome. Friday 8 th September was no different, we were celebrating a Special Wedding anniversary 50 years with are family. The service was excellent , and Clara are waitress was very efficient and considerate of our needs. I had asked if possible , for a table not near the kitchen. The table could not of been better for the 9 of us. The whole evening was brilliant , the food the service , the atmosphere. The air-conditioning was a little on the cool side, but understand as it was a very warm night. Thank You Kira and her team , we will most certainly be back next year for another special birthday celebration. "

"We had late lunch on Monday : did not book the table. Not crowded. Staff are generally friendly but bit slow service. I think less staff are working on weekdays. Salad bar some are fresh some are not fresh. And looks like the chicken portions small than before. Still good tasty toilet was clean and lots of space for car parking you need to enter your car reg at front till. Lunch set also available but we ordered separated main and drink each. Total we paid around £40 !! I think it’s still good price !!"

"brilliant eating, fresh and well cooked we had a good mix of eating and everything was delicious! very clean and tidy and beautiful decor. the staff is very helpful and good for all including the families, it is very much the small things. the baby changing area had a place to sit for the children, so mamas and fathers can use the facilities without worrying where the children sit, very clever and soo helpful! my young one didn't seem to bother! beer garden was big and clean and simply beautiful. could spend a lot of time here. good choice of the beer on the hahn also! would absolutely recommend it and will definitely go again if in the opposite!"

"Arrived for the first time since we came when they first reopened and that was not a good experience, well we arrived today and were shown our table , good space between tables so a good start, I had the mushrooms to start and they...were very good and hot, which makes a change these days, for main I decided I would have the mixed grill as I was not convinced the roast potatoes would be crispy as advertised, well I made the right choice as another of our party had the roast and the potatoes were definitely NOT crispy, the mixed grill was excellent overall, but better flavoured sausages would improve the grill immeasurably, my criticism would be don’t put “crispy potatoes” if they are not, and please ensure staff are aware before asking what you want, that they know what the soup of the day is, as it’s very annoying when they keep running off to check ! Overall for the price point very good, just improve the little areas and will be 5 star"

"I am extremely disappointed with the food and quality of this restaurant. Initially, I requested fish but was told it was sold out, so I settled for portabello mushrooms. However, I was informed that they only had breaded mushrooms, which I declined. I also ordered prawns in garlic and chicken wings. When the chicken wings arrived, they were cold. After sending them back, they were returned very hot, which was satisfactory. The other three meals were decent but not great, and all portions of chips were cold. I will not be returning to this restaurant, and I will be sharing my negative experience with friends."
