"On the way: For a dinner or order à la Carte I would highly recommend this place! I can't recommend the lunch buffet on Thursday. ................................................................. Friends recommended this Thai country. Without this recommendation, we would never have found him. Hidden in a one-way street in Milbertshofen. On arrival we felt super comfortable. Very dark, but still super appealing. Very nice. Since we were with 5 people, we had reserved a table for security reasons. In the evening it turned out that it was a good idea because it was almost all tables occupied. Shortly after setting everyone got a hot tea. At the temperatures then, the right. Great plus! An exceptional setting of the menu (can be viewed on the website), therefore very clear. After ordering drinks and food, a basket with krupuk was placed and peanut sauce. One more plus! The service was very friendly and fast the drinks came. As an appetizer we ordered a mixed dish. Everyone had something different than the main court and we were all excited. Fresh ingredients, very well seasoned and the degree of sharpness was perfect. By the way, you can also order the sharpness individually, as all dishes are freshly prepared. All without Glutamat / Taste Booster! The dessert (baked banana) I think it's more mediocre now. After asking for the bill, there was another record of fresh fruit (orange, pineapple, kiwi). And another plus. Even at the many next visits it was a poem every evening! Overall I can recommend the food à la Carte. The service is also very friendly and there is also the question whether everything is okay, whether you want to order something else, etc. Thursday from 11.30 14.30 Lunch Buffet for 7.50 € per person. We were there several times in the afternoon. The dishes always change. For example, when we were there: rice different sauces (very good) fresh fruit (sometimes good, sometimes sour) meat with curry (can be green, red, yellow) Krupuk Mini spring rolls baked vegetables WanTan soup (also change) baked chicken breast baked duck breast roasted noodles with vegetables tofu with vegetables or only sweet vegetables Long waiting times! Once a bowl is filled, it will soon be empty because everyone always waits for it. And if someone finally catches something, he'll get the shield full of the one who knows when the next comes. In addition, we found the quality at noon less well than in the evening. Only once as an example: If the place between 12 and 13 is full (I guess there are at least 25 30 guests), then I can throw into an empty bowl with appetizers not only 7 WanTan! Especially when everyone has waited for so long, the first takes not only 1 or 2. And at the latest the third gets nothing more and has to wait. Or how many guests should use a baked chicken breast? Freshly prepared is great, but you should cook a little more foresight. No, the buffet was nix. I'm not going to lunch again. ..................... I can recommend the lunch card on weekdays (so except Thursday it takes too long). Very good prices. But the portions are already much smaller than in the evening, but also much cheaper. Conclusion: For the la Carte Essen a great recommendation!"

"This was our first visit to the Queen Victoria in Theydon Bois and I can honestly say that it won’t be our last. We’d been wanting to come for a while and on Sunday we finally had the chance. The result was very positive with great food , good service and a very friendly atmosphere. The pub is situated in the heart of Theydon Bois with ample parking at the front and rear. As you enter there is the bar area on the right with the dining room with table service on the left. But you can actually eat anywhere including outside. When we arrived we received a nice friendly welcome before we were shown to our table. We then ordered a drink while we looked at the menus to which there was a choice of the main menu as well as the addition of a selection of sunday roasts. We decided to start with a selection of crusty bread which came with balsamic , olive oil butter. For our starters we chose the Stilton Pork Pie accompanied with watercress piccalilli as well as the Posh Whitebait with smoked paprika , homemade tartare sauce , crispy kale lemon. These were to delightful dishes and a great way to begin. Now it was time for our roasts. My wife chose the Slow Roasted Lamb Shank. For myself i chose to have the Hand Carved Roasted Sirloin of Beef. The roasts came with braised red cabbage , seasonal vegetables , roast potatoes , yorkshire pudding gravy. You could also add items to your roast and I just couldn’t resist so opted to add cauliflower cheese pork loin to create a monster of a roast dinner. It was now time to finish with two fabulous desserts and for these we chose the Salted Caramel Profiteroles with chocolate sauce and the Apple Crumble Tart with oats , cinnamon vanilla ice cream. We finished with a coffee to bring to an end a great sunday lunch. The food was very good and was matched by friendly service from all the staff but especially our waitress Natalie who was excellent and a credit to the hospitality industry. I would definitely recommend a visit and are looking forward returning again soon to try the food from the main menu. Many Thanks to all the team for a fabulous lunch and look forward to seeing you all again soon."
