"15/02/25 Thank you to the team and in particular the young lady who served us for our evening meal. We often drive past and say we need to book a table. what a lovely venue, good food, clean, polite and professional staff, but most of all, the staff were particularly good at making sure you were looked after and checked in on you just at the right pitch to check all is ok and if there is anything else we needed. The plus is that its also dog friendly. Both my wife and I will definitely be visiting again. A special thank you to the young lady who served us, sadly we didn't ask for her name but her professionalism to detail was noticed and greatly appreciated. So thank you Price per person: £30–40 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5"

The Foaming Jug on the A41 is a fantastic spot to enjoy a quiet drink with friends. The food is decent and reasonably priced.

The restaurant, now named The Oaken Arms, did not impress me much. The close proximity to the road made it uncomfortable to sit outside, and the prices for ale were quite high.

for food), but the atmosphere is nice and the staff are friendly. The food is always delicious and I would highly recommend trying the burgers. The prices are reasonable and the portions are generous. Overall, a great spot for a casual meal with friends.

Food took about 45 mins to come out and was not warm at all. No roast potatoes on the roast dinners!! Tiny portion of lamb rump (three pieces) and was told the portion had to be right as everything is weighed out. Parsnips not cooked enough. Beans and cabbage cold. Yorkshire puds should be home made as paying over £19 before any extras!! Gravy lovely though!!! Sorry, I don’t usually moan but this should be better for the price Price per person: £20–30 View menu

Lovely cozy vibe and atmosphere with fireplace! Staff very polite, helpful and couldnt do more for us. Food was ok. The beef was tender besides being more cooked then some of us would have liked. But the sides and gravy were nice enough. The seabass however was too dry for my liking I wouldnt have that dish again. All in all coffees were made well (hot enough! And desert was good. So despite a few mishaps would definitely come again (just not for the seabass . Thank you!

We today had lunch at the Oaken Arms Foaming Jug) Myself and my partner had roast beef dinner the blood was oozing onto the plate and the meat to cut was like leather the potatoes and parsnips were under cooked, my son had duck breast which was luke warm and my daughterlaw had fish cob where the batter was soggy. The staff were lovely but the layout of the pub its self you were like on top of each other like tables in walkways which didn't allow two people to pass at the same time, it was too warm in there no windows open. I have been to this pub prior to it being the Oaken I knew it when it was the foaming jug much better food and layout no as cramped.
