"The food at this restaurant is good, but I will not be returning due to blatant racial discrimination. I am a black man who has always frequented this restaurant with East Asian friends. However, on Saturday, March 2nd, 2024, my Chinese British friend and I experienced discrimination from the staff. Despite standing in plain view near the front of the restaurant for nearly 5 minutes, none of the staff acknowledged us or offered us a table. When two Chinese girls entered after us, the waiter immediately greeted them and assumed they were with us, ignoring me until he realized my friend was not with them. He then seated us at a substandard table near the open door, clearly showing preference for Chinese customers over us. This discriminatory behavior is unacceptable, and I will not be patronizing this restaurant again."

"Ordered through Uber eats and was given an estimated delivery time. Food still hadn’t arrived half an hour after this time so we called them and they said the food was on its way. Continued to wait for another half an hour and decided to...call again. This time no matter how many times we tried it said “user busy”. Food eventually arrived well over an hour after the stated delivery time and was no longer hot. On eating we discovered that the chicken satay skewers we had ordered were raw"

"We were seated by the window which was lovely and seen to within minutes but my only remark would be it was very rushed so you never had time to enjoy every course before the next one was out infront of you. Therefore our main course was wasted, although we were offered a take out box. So we would have enjoyed it more if it was not so rushed."

"Every time I have been here there is always something wrong, food great and senior staff members seem perfect, when sitting in and eating ordered a drink and a main dish, only drink arrived and didn’t order the main for us, we were in a bit of a rush so had to leave. Then when I ordered online for collection, someone had taken the ticket off and just left it next to the register which was rather annoying as I had to wait a while due to a busy Saturday. Food is excellent, 10/10 recommend, just a bit of a pain to go out for a meal and have to chase someone for your food. They were very kind about delaying my collection and gave me a larger drink."

"This restaurant is popular with wealthy people in the area because it has been around for a long time. It hails from the era of traditional Chinese restaurants and sort of kept up to date by having a slightly modern decor. However this lack of change but with new materials has given it a nostalgic following. The food is good, but oily and sugary like Chinese food used to be before people became more health conscious. Sadly years ago I would have given this 5 stars, but it has fallen behind. Most of all it now has 3 stars because some of the junior staff can be apathetic, disinterested and most of all a bit vicious which is not conducive to the prices they charge. Having come here for so long, I take no pleasure in writing this review. This place will continue due to it's very long period of built up patronage, but eventually, at this rate, even if it takes many years, it will be used up. It was the bordering on offensiveness of a couple of staff that prompted me to write this and has sadly made this place loose my very long standing goodwill."

"Staff were very attentive and checked on us regularly throughout the meal asking if we needed more drinks etc. the food is amazing, we ordered a variety of dishes to share between the 4 of us so that we could sample as much as possible. The squid portion was generous and tasted delicious and the bang bang shrimp were also really good. We had the bulgogi beef skewers and aubergine skewers both were tasty but the beef ones were very flavoursome and my favourite dish of all. The desserts are also really tasty passion fruit cheesecake was deconstructed and has a hidden layer of passion fruit sauce underneath to add extra zing. The only fault would be the cookie dough would have benefitted from more ice cream as it was a little sickly after a while."

"chose oka chelsea as my friend chose sushi. visit one of the OKA restaurants at the first visit. Monday evening, but still fully booked, as we sit for our 8.00 o'clock, left us with a limited selection at seats on the front of the restaurant. large selection on the menu, eating arrived immediately and was very good. the service was friendly, fast and our waiter has recorded all our desires. a little loud for a quiet conversation and not somewhere I would think for a romantic meal, but great sweat over the place. will definitely go again."

"Our experience at Papa's Wok was very positive. We appreciated the variety of meat and vegetarian options available. The portion sizes of the big box were generous and we were impressed by the amount of food. Overall, we had a great dining experience at Papa's Wok and would definitely order from them again."

"This restaurant in Colchester is definitely the best we have tried. We had an amazing meal there last night. This was our first visit since the refurbishment and we were impressed with the new dishes on the menu. The staff and atmosphere were fantastic. "Very over priced and not happy with description of the order. We ordered on Just eat and wanted to review on there but couldnt for some reason. £12.50 for a big box of chow mein which was the size of a small lunch box that would be £7.50 max any where else. If you are hungary and get good value for money order some where else in Aylesbury for takeaway. Dont use these guys since they are just poor value for money"
