"zen noodle bar in the heart of chelmsford city has a relaxed atmosphere in a restaurant that is clean and elegant. the personal was friendly and welcoming, and there was a busy trade through the door, considering that it was lunch and drizzly. the restaurant runs a good lunch break with two dresses for £9.95 I was in many restaurants before these offers offer and most of the time the deal is restriktiw or the portion sizes are small not here. despite the reasonable price, I found the teller sizes to be what I would consider a full size meal. I ordered the following two meal times: Starter/Sideteller shredded chili huhn the coating is clean and crisp with a mix of seasoned that are delicious. the portion size is generous and tasty as if it was boiled from ground. all ingredients were fresh and with a nice selection of red and green chillies I found the presentation pleasant to be on the eye and satisfied that chili-kick I was believed. main dish thai green curry the rice was very good, tender and soft and fluffy and dry. the soße was tasteful with flavors, but not exaggerated, so a taste experience as everyone jumps over the taste buds. the chicken was fresh and not frozen or reformed huh. it leaves a delicious aftertaste and a satisfying taste. overall I can recommend the restaurant very much. the venue is a good size for each party, and the menu seems to scan everything with a decent and varied selection of dresses too expensive."

"pork doesn 't have that weird awful pork smell like in most places in the UK (only a teeny hint)... ie. the haoshao rou braised pork was decent certainly hit the spot not like the best ever but very good for Scotland lol. I recommend ordering it 'cause it takes quite a bit of effort to make at home haha... Pork bok choi dumplings were nice. Veg dish was fine, like home cooking, could use more seasoning giant portion though. Tbh I rarely find the experience of dining out here satisfactory (often pricey very average) but this place made me glad to eat out Would come back again. Simple but nice"

"Terrible! Gave them a second chance under new management, but I can now confirm that the food is terrible, just like the first take away. Everything is battered, including the salt and pepper ribs, they were nice and tender and not battered by the previous owner. This is not a Chinese restaurant that I will return to EVER! Or recommend, such a shame to see a good restaurant go to waste. Service: Take out"

"10 of us went for a birthday dinner. We were put on 2 round tables pushed together, which was weird. There were plenty of available rectangular tables that could have been pushed together and there was only one other booking in the restaurant so I'm not sure why they did that. I was on the bit kind of between the 2 tables so I chose 1 but then almost had my back to most people on the other table. We all choose the buffet menu which included 3 starters each, Peking duck or lamb and 2 main dishes each. We could have ordered more dishes, free of charge, but only if we finished all the dishes on the table. The food was amazing, hence the 4 stars even though the table lay out was not the best and the staff were a bit shouty!"

"I had an incredible experience at this restaurant, thanks to the outstanding service and the quality of the food. We had quite a large group of 22 people, and every dish we tried was delicious. Everyone praised the meals, but my personal favorite was the honey and chili chicken—it was exceptional. I highly recommend this Chinese restaurant!"

"Looks can be deceiving they say! And now I believe that too! This restaurant may look like one of the many in Chinatown but i've had people swear by this place. On entering you may think that its a tiny place with some 4 odd tables but as you go up the floors..you can easily have a party of 12-15 and you'll get a table. It was super crowded but then again it was a friday and it was Chinatown. The menu is pretty extensive with a wide variety of dishes. They also had a decent wine menu. We were a group of 7 and each paid around 15-20 pounds per person. They have set meals for 2/3/4 people as well which allow you to have crispy duck, 2 main courses and rice. I ordered the Kung pao chicken with egg fried rice. Their kung pao was good and the best was the water chestnuts in it. Quantity is good for one person I'd say. Others had ordered spring rolls, soups, veal(which was a bit chewy), beef and pork dishes. The vermicelli was also great. All in all people were pretty happy with their meal. However the bill is a bit tough to calculate when you're splitting. Everything is in chinese so you might want to get help from the servers there. Its a great little place to get your chinese craving fixed. Recommended!"

"Leaving review on behalf of my husband: To begin with the lady who took the order had an issue with me paying by card over the phone, they were only wanting cash at the door. But more importantly I am really disappointed with all the food, the chowmein was completely flavour less, the curry sauce was like water and tasted only of cinnamon!? And The chips were chewy and dry. The only positive was that the delivery was quick! By far the worst Chinese I have ever had! Will stick to using Ka Ming from now on."

"What a gem of a place! We come to this area on holiday regularly and always look forward to a take away from here. The food is excellent and probably the best Chinese take away we’ve had. The lady who runs it is delightful and the girls behind the counter are great. Can’t wait to return."

"This takeout restaurant is inconsistent in its service. One week, you may receive a delicious, fresh, and hot meal delivered promptly, but the next week you could be waiting 1 hour and 30 minutes for your delivery, and the food might seem like it has been sitting out for a while, with stale prawn crackers."

"Lychee was recommended to us by family. We went there for our anniversary dinner. Although we had booked a table online, we arrived early and were promptly taken to our seats. The staff were friendly and advised us what we could order. Only their chicken was halal which made our selection abit limited. We ordered their chicken broth soup and chicken skewers for starters and were given complementary prawn crackers. We then ordered our mains which are in the snap! The food tasted great and they made it extra spicy for us! The service was extremely quick. I don't know what quite is for them but I thought there were plenty of customers. They cleared the tables as quick as the food was served, some might say it was abit rushed but I would say efficient! Would definitely recommend."

"Picked up a takeaway after using them previously. Only to get home to find out the sauce pot was spilt out in the bag. Called them and instead of them saying sorry pop in and we will replace, they actually said bring the pot back and we will replace lt, like i was desperate to be dishonest for a pot of sauce. Discusted at the customer service and their mistrust to their honest clients. Having expressed my views, they then tried to lie saying they were going to clean the pot which they threw in the bin when i returned it in the bag full of sauce. Their driver was no better as he decided to slide a pound over the counter saying take your pound. Think he had some problem understanding although i assume he was English. After all that, the barbacue ribs turned out to be the worst dry ribs ive ever tasted. Not for me anymore. Far better places than this to spend my money."

"After finding our usual local takeaway closed, we decided to try out this alternative option. Unfortunately, it turned out to be the worst Chinese takeaway I have ever had. The food was bland and tasteless, particularly the Chicken Curry which was quite awful compared to what I usually get from our regular spot. The Crispy Duck was missing the sauce, cucumber, and spring onions, and the bag of deep-fried chicken balls had some chips mixed in. I won't be returning to this place again. On a positive note, the young girl working there was friendly and polite."

"Really enjoyed my first visit here, not a great fan of Chinese food made for westerners but have to say the food is of excellent quality and lots of different menu options you would not find on most Chinese restaurants menus, I would describe the food here as premium Chinese, nice flavours, nice presentation. Also do draught beer too which is a from me. The restaurant has a good atmosphere and positive energy, service from young waitress good and the boss lady there is really sweet and obviously very hard working. Free parking outside restaurant and street, will definitely come again soon to try more of the menu Thank you"

"I regularly use this Chinese takeaway as it can be very convenient for me if I have finished work and do not want to cook. The menu is clear and self explanatory. When you call, the person on the other end of the phone is always willing to help with any questions about the meals. Depending on what you order, food can be ready in about 15 minutes which is good! Also, the portion sizes are great, often there are plenty for left overs or a separate meal the next day. I live about a 10 minute walk from the restaurant and have never had a problem with delivery whether my order has been under or over £15. I will continue to use this Chinese as it is the best one available in the area."

Customer service is appalling very sad as we have used them for a long time but never again !!"

"China city is full of Asian restaurants, but beijing dumpling is definitely out. over two floors with closely distributed tables, the restaurant is almost always full. the menu is quintessential chinese offers a series of appetizers, dimsums, rice dishes and other Chinese netzens. the prices are reasonable and the food content is good. service is definitiw not her forte! they come to the taste test, excellent xio long bao, suppe and fleshy, super balanced and oh so addictive yum. salt and pfeffer tofu was surprisingly delicious paired with spicy noodles, it was a quite perfect vegetarian meal garlic prawns and mixed meerese fruits fried rice were well made."

"Looking for the worst Chinese takeaway in Edinburgh? Look no further! We made the mistake of ordering from Happy Rice through Just Eat when our usual spot was closed. We placed our order at 7:30pm with an estimated delivery time between 8:45pm and 9:05pm. Despite the short distance on a Tuesday night, we waited. At 9:05pm, it showed as delivered on the app but there was no sign of our order. After waiting an hour and 40 minutes, I called the restaurant to inquire. I was abruptly told that the kitchen was busy with lots of orders, and it would be another 25 minutes. The food finally arrived 2 hours after ordering, only 25 minutes late as promised. The delivery driver was kind and apologized for the delay, offering us a second bag of prawn crackers and a voucher for £5 off our next order over £25 (valid until the end of the month). Unfortunately, the food was cold, bland, and greasy. Unless you enjoy disappointment, late deliveries, rude staff, and subpar food, I suggest avoiding Happy Rice."

"Booked a table for 4 people via phone and they didn't even ask for our name for the booking and hung up. When arrived we got the Hotpot (online it says it was £19.80 per person for dinner but turns out it was actually £21 something per person) and was a little confused as to why the lady serving us asked what we didn't want in our hotpot and it turns out that we got EVERY INGREDIENT that was on the menu and we were not allowed to order more or what we actually want unless we finished it all. Our sliced beef and sliced lamb was served frozen like it was straight from the freezer as it was still pretty hard and had frosting over it. There was no any type of sauce selection at all and the only thing they bring out for dipping sauces is peanut sauce and you have to ask for chilli oil separately. Overall, I recommend not coming here for the hotpot as their quality is very poor and you're limited to the selection that they offer unless you force yourself to eat what you don't want since they bring it all out for you anyways."

"I have never experienced such a terrible meal. We all ended up feeling unwell. The rice was mushy, and most of the meat was served cold. When they say "gravy," they really mean it – it's just as unappetizing as school cafeteria gravy. It resembles frozen food from Iceland that has been reheated twice and served cold. Fortune Court may be the only choice in Newtown, but going there is a gamble – you risk spending time in the restroom and still leaving hungry. Even my dog wouldn’t eat most of it, and it smells like his food. It's hard to believe they’re still in business. Food rating: 1."
