"2nd visit here and was a spur of the moment meal. Staff really on the ball to get menu and drinks sorted. Nice poppadoms and pickles tray to start, then a Dhansak which was sweer rather than hot and sour, still really good. Washed down with a pint of bicycle club IPA, first for me and very drinkable. All that for a touch under £22. Bargain. Will be back next time I'm working in the area. Service: Dine in"

"Food was ok. Some plates were flavourful, however own plate was described as medium hot (Kashmir special) but lacked any spice and was rather bland. Service wasn't great. Sadly there was a large party downstairs, which led to our meal taking over an hour to arrive at the table, and staff weren't particularly apologetic to it. Appreciate when it's busy can be slow, but staff didn't really care. That said when they did serve tables they were friendly enough."

"Food was ok, however garlic rice didn’t show up, called 3 times and they ensured it would be brought to us. After an hour we went down there to collect, where they were very rude and tried to say we ordered wrong and pulled out the receipt for a different order. Wouldn’t recommend, however if you did want to try do not make a big order on a Saturday night as they cannot handle it. As rudely shouted down the phone. "Nouvelle Spice is a wonderful Indian restaurant located in New Cross. Their friendly service, large portions, and affordable prices make it a great dining spot. The food is delicious, with the chicken korma being sweet and creamy without being too rich, and the lamb dansak perfectly tangy. The peshwari naan is especially excellent, with a thick, doughy texture and a delicious golden filling topped with toasted sesame seeds. The prawn palak and bhindi bhaji dishes were also tasty, although the pilau rice was nothing special."

"Walking up Borough High Street, I passed Truly Indian on my way to sainsburys. I noticed that the chicken tikka wrap was back on their lunch time menu. It had not been advertised for while but historically I had at least one a week when there were last on the menu. They were amazing £5.95 for the wrap and a drink.So decided to have one again, this time its advertisd at £4.95 but no drink. Not to worry dont like fizzy drinks anyway.So at my desk and half way through it and although the sauce had changed and not as good as previous the main issue was the chicken. I decided to unwrap it and clearly the old chuncks of chicken tika have been replaced with finer cuts of chicken with no tikka. And I counted 4 very small slivers the size of a finger nail.This is just unbeleivable. I know produce and rents have gone up but a decent operator is not taking the mickey with this type of trick.Management please sort it out please, at £5 i can get a decent burger of the market or a mixed meat mezze at the establishment opposite you. Not happy. Clearly not, as I dont write reviews unless something is great or something is really bad."

"What an absolute find! We happened on this restaurant while visiting Chelsea. TPH is an elegant restaurant featuring a wonderful balance of mainstream dishes with a sophisticated twist. A perfect example is the samosa appetizer. Light and fluffy on the inside and delicately crisp on the outside. This would have been great on it’s on own but was served with a chickpea stew combining a wonderful blend of herbs and spices that made it one of the best things I’ve eaten in quite some time. The menu features rich, textured curries, perfectly tender meats, fresh seafood and veggie dishes served by a gracious husband and wife team who truly care about your dining experience. All this and not while not putting a big dent in your pocketbook. We will definitely be back."

"We were a large group, who had booked weeks in advance. The food was good, but the service was incredibly slow. It took an hour to receive our starters after ordering, and another hour and a half after ordering mains (why weren't both orders taken at the same time? to receive our mains. It was a Saturday early evening. Our party arrived at 1730 and left at 2115. Way too long to wait as we had somewhere else to go to afterwards. We felt that the staff were just trying to encourage us to buy more drinks whilst we waited. Nothing wrong with attentive staff, but nearly 4 hours to finish our meal was unacceptable. The restaurant was not very busy, and to see other tables eat and leave before us was frustrating. The food was good, staff polite and friendly, but the experience let down by the slow service. First time Id been there and I will not return or recommend."

"I absolutely love this place. The owner and the staff are friendly, just the kind of warmth you'd expect at an authentic Indian and Nepalese restaurant. I used to frequently visit Balti Curries even when I was a student at Falmouth University. They have a wide variety of dishes. I had the onion bhajees, momo, and the lamb tikka biryani. The portion size was really good and the taste was exceptional. Thank you for the lovely experience."

"Our experience on New Year's Eve was absolutely terrible. We ordered our family NYE curry at 6:15 pm and were told it would take 80 minutes. However, by 9:30 pm, we were still trying to get in touch with the restaurant. We were very hungry, especially our child. When we finally reached them, we were hung up on. The food didn't arrive until 10:20 pm, after we had already ordered a pizza out of frustration. We offered to accept the food if they removed the cost of the pizzas, but they refused and took the food back. It was clear that Tiffins prioritized quantity over quality and service, showing pure greed in our opinion. This ruined our New Year's meal and we will never be returning as customers. Well done on losing a customer for life."

"I visit regularly,So I thought I'll invite a few a my Taxi driver friends to try this fantastic place out. Wel! they were very impressed with how fresh and tasty the food is, We didn't wait long and there was nothing left on the plates. We ordered breakfasts, burgers and chicken dishes. Unfortunately we was enjoying it so much we forgot to take photos but rest assured Shirley Cafe is worth a visit. "We got our food via Uber Eats, the speed of delivery and service was very impressive and food arrived piping hot! But unfortunately the food is so sweet, my wife got the Korma which we know is a sweeter dish, but this was far too sweet. The tikka Masala sauce was lovely but the chicken for me was rather dry too. However there was a generous portion of meat to sauce ratio and you could tell the chicken was nicely marinated. Also our Saag Paneer was sugar heaven too, I've never had it so sweet and coconuty, it was as though it basically had the Korma sauce in it too. Unfortunately the first time we ordered here was 2019, and we got sent the most bland food, it was like the spices wasn't added in if I'm honest. We tried again and as much the flavour was there, it was far too sweet."

"Sadly having to give 1 out of 5 due to the terrible experience with delivery. Food was delivered an hour and a half late. Was basically lied to when enquired by phone, ranging from its out for delivery, it’s left and should be there in 5 minutes, it hasn’t left yet as it’s on the hot plate, it’s leaving in 15 minutes, to the driver was delivering it and had a car accident and had to go to hospital. I sincerely hope the latter was not a lie, it’s a terrible one if it was, but I hope the driver was ok if genuine. Asked for a refund and to cancel the order and told could not get one as no one there to refund me. Food finally arrived. The food was actually really nice, but we were eating it so close to going to bed for the evening due to it’s late arrival, so even though the food was nice we didn’t really enjoy it. Suggest just honest with customers, if there’s a delay, explain why, we will understand. Will not use again based on this experience."
