"The appetizer was fantastic, but I could make a better main course at home. The pasta was overcooked and the sauce was lacking, though the shrimp was good. It seems like they simply provided the raw ingredients. I recommend going to San Carlos in town to learn how to cook properly. If you are not familiar with authentic Italian cuisine, this average quality may be sufficient for you. Otherwise, you may be more satisfied with the steak dishes."

"I had a truly special date night at the restaurant last night. I had been fishing during the day, and I must say, it was the best fish I've ever tasted. "AVOID THIS PLACE, ABSOLUTELY SHOCKING FOOD AND STAFF TOTALLY DISINTERESTED. MY SISTER-IN-LAW AND I WENT THERE FOR LUNCH TODAY, THE PLACE WAS EMPTY WHEN WE ENTERED, ALL 3 MEMBERS OF STAFF WERE GAZING AT MOBILE PHONES WHEN WE WENT IN. WE DIDN'T WAIT LONG TO BE SERVED BUT WHEN THE FOOD CAME IT WAS OBVIOUSLY STRAIGHT OUT THE MICROWAVE. WE BOTH ORDERED CANNELLONI, IT WAS CURLED UP AND BROWN AT THE EDGES AND VERY VERY DRY. WE STARTED TO EAT IT BUT SOON HAD TO GIVE UP. WHEN WE COMPLAINED TO THE WAITRESS, THE GUY BEHIND THE COUNTER (THINK IT WAS THE OWNER) OBVIOUSLY HEARD US BUT CHOSE TO IGNORE US AND KEEP GAZING AT HIS MOBILE. WE WERE THEN PRESENTED WITH A BILL FOR OVER £30 FOR 2 PLATES OF DREADFUL FOOD AND 1 DIET COKE."

"What an amazing experience! We celebrated three lockdown 50th birthdays here with a group of eight. We were all given one room for ourselves and the staff were incredibly polite, friendly, and attentive. Upon arrival, we were greeted and shown where the facilities were, given a run-through of our room's amenities, and shown how to operate things like the television and air conditioning. The place was beautifully decorated and stylish. The service was top-notch and nothing was too much for the staff. The menu had a variety of options and we all enjoyed our meals, which were delicious and generously portioned. Lytham House had a lively atmosphere and it was clear that everyone was having a good time. The attention to detail extended to the cleanliness and hygiene of the restrooms. Overall, it was a fantastic experience and I would definitely go back!"

"This Italian restaurant is fantastic! The staff is friendly and the food is cooked perfectly. I started with the delicious mussels in a white wine, tomato, and chili sauce. Then I had the Veal Parmigiana, which was absolutely delicious. The homemade Tiramisu was also fantastic. They have a good selection of reasonably priced wines. Overall, a fantastic restaurant that is definitely worth a visit."

"I have been a customer of this place (takeaways mostly) for a good few years now and today I decided to go there for a meal (twice before setting in for a meal too). Was greeted by a lovely waitress, she set me down and gave me the menu. When I was ready to order this other waitress came and I asked her if I could have the 19-something item consisting of chicken shish, lamb shish, adana kebab with rice and salad, and whatnot. I asked her if I could have ribs instead of Adana kebab to which she replied No I cannot change anything I said I 'll pay extra but she again said the same thing to me and I thought her customer service was a bit rude because of the way she said that to me without any explanation to why it cannot be changed. I normally take takeaways from this place and they always changed the item for me as I paid the extra difference. So disappointed in the way I was refused because I loved the food in there. I 'll never come to this place again. This review is not about getting other people not to come here as I wouldn 't do that.. the food is extremely tasty there so I 'd urge people to go there. I 'd only ask the management to cater to customers who are willing to pay the extra costs and train their staff members.. thank you."

"I visited Giotto on the evening of the 21st for tea with my sister and my friend, first time visiting London we decided to book a table at this restaurant before we headed to watch Mamma Mia. We walked in and initial thoughts were all positive, greeted by staff and they showed us to a table by the bar. We ordered our food, it came and during the time which we were eating our meals we witnessed I assume the manager or supervisor unsure of her name but she had light brown hair and she was very rude to staff bossing them about and using no manners ! the way she was talking to staff was unacceptable in front of customers she clearly had a problem with one staff member I think his name was Zachary, we had no issues with the way he had served us we had great customer service by him he took our food orders. We heard her sending him home due to whatever he had done wrong I don’t think he had done anything wrong. If she had an issue with the way her staff work she should bring this up with them in the office not in front of customers, none of us enjoyed our meal and half way through my sister actually got up and told her that it was unnecessary what she was doing and she rudely advised my sister that we didn’t know the issues they were having with this staff member and that my sister was blowing it out of context. Can I just say that we never saw her in our initially visit through the door and the floor of the restaurant was running smoothly without her presence. I feel like she had no communication skills something that’s vital in a job role such as hers! We paid £100 for 3 of us and nothing was knocked off despite us telling them we weren’t happy with what had happened and that we wasted our food because of what we had witnessed."

"Fabulous our go to restaurant in Edinburgh, can 't beat this place for food or service if I could give a six I would, one of those places you get the bill and don 't look at it you just pay with a smile, we got engaged today and first place we wanted to go as an engaged couple was Gordon 's, I had the ribeye with the best Diane sauce I 've ever had my fiancé 's chicken was so tender it melted in the mouth, staff are amazing can 't do enough, basically a trip to Edinburgh is not complete without a meal here..."

"I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone, as the staff are incredibly welcoming and friendly. The service is exceptional and truly unmatched. I visited recently on New Year's Eve, and thanks to the management and staff, it was a fantastic night. I was disappointed to learn that they are no longer allowed to have their marquee. I urge the authorities to reconsider this decision, as Standish is growing and should be allowed to evolve rather than be held back by outdated regulations. By the way, I’m 75 years old."

"I’ve been to a few places, and each time I tried something different, all of which were wonderful and delicious. The bread served with olive oil and vinegar was fantastic; despite its simplicity, the bread was incredibly fresh and light. The spiced vegetables paired perfectly with the fish they serve. "Really overly average meal for ridiculous prices. Went with a big group of friends and half the group were really disappointed with their meal. Last time we went here, we were left sat at the bar for a good half an hour without being offered a drink or a menu and when we were seated it took so long for them to bring us the menu, let alone order, that we left and went to the local Thai! We thought we'd give it another try and were faced with pathetic portions and quality that I could have done better at home. Stodgy, over priced, la-di-dah and average service. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind paying good money for great food, IF it's great, but the best thing about the meal was the people we were eating it with. I don't know where this restaurant gets it's reputation from but for the prices they charge, I'd like to think they could afford to get a proper lock on at least one of the ladies toilets! Won't be returning."
