"Recommended to come here and eat before attending a concert. Found a table and sat down and after 10mins a waitress came and took our order which was our starters and mains. Starter arrived in good time we had the fireman's sharing board which was really nice and big enough for four people to share and our 2 for 1 cocktails also arrived in good time and were nice. Then after that it went downhill we waited over an hour after we had finished our starter for our mains I asked a waitress to see where our meals were when clearly we knew we had been forgotten about she never came back with an answer so with my patience wearing thin I asked a gentleman with a clip board who was directing people to tables . He said he would look into it and came over after about 5 mins to apologise it was their mistake and our order had been missed and offered us a free drink. My friend and I asked for a vodka and lemonade and another a Disarano and coke and a bottle of water which arrived within 6 minutes. Our vodka and lemonades had never seen vodka you couldn't taste it at all but my friend said he could taste his Disarano. We waited another 10 minutes and our mains arrived three of us had posh finger sandwiches and the other had a steak sandwich which she left as it was dripping in fat and the roll was barely baked. Our posh fish finger sandwiches were also dripping in fat with no taste we asked for extra tartar sauce to be told by a different waitress that its in the sandwich so in other words your not getting anymore. There was barely any in. We all ate them as we were hungry but they were poor. We asked for the bill and paid and went elsewhere for a cuppa. We know it was busy with being a pink concert on at the stadium of light I personally don't think there was enough staff on to cope with the volume of people so our first visit put us off from ever returning."

"We had lunch here between stream boat rides. Lovely cafe with very friendly, helpful staff. Lunch was very tasty, nice portion size and very reasonable priced. My son has allergies which are always a concern when eating out but the ladies were knowledgeable and efficient with dealing with all our enquiries. Would highly recommend a visit if your passing. We are a family of 4 with two teenage sons. Who are never full but both said after their meals the were stuffed! I can’t think of a higher compliment to a cafe."

"After hearing great reviews about this restaurant, I decided to stop by for lunch. The bartender was friendly, knowledgeable, and had a great sense of humor. The menu had a good variety of options to choose from. However, I was disappointed that the restaurant was cold despite having a beautiful fire. The cleanliness of the place left something to be desired, as the floor behind the bar was dirty and the tables and menus were a bit grungy. The food was tasty, but unfortunately, I found Brussels sprouts in my mixed sizzler, which reminded me of leftover New Year's dinners being used up. Overall, I probably won't be returning."

"that is a shame that was as great as this was not busy at such beautiful weekend. eating was very good. the hummus was delicious served with freshly baked naan and the rice with lenses and lamb was excellent. very clean restaurant and welcoming staff. although the parking space was inappropriate, as the restaurant is only the zigzag lines and on both sides of the street there are private properties. maybe 2 cars can be parked from the restaurant side, as it has a rear view that they can park on the window. except that it is all super, fresh, tasty and cheap. great. 5 stars safe."

"Spent a very rainy day in Fort William. Used the Happy Cow app to search for a vegan friendly place for lunch made our way to The Wildcat. Left our name no as they were full then got a call about 20 mins later to say they had a table for us. We both opted for the Moroccan pasty special which was delicious comfort food. I had turmeric latte and my partner had coffee which he said was the nicest he’s ever had in a café . After another round of hot drinks, we were too full for anything else but ordered a couple of cakes to take away. Really nice wee cafe we’ll definitely return when we’re in Fort William again."

"We family of 4 , all adults and our dog) had a thoroughly enjoyable evening last night. I must admit I hesitated having read some of the reviews, but very glad I went ahead and booked. The place has a lovely atmosphere, friendly staff and of course a fantastic location made all the better by a beautiful sunset. It wasn 't too busy which allowed us to have a table all to ourselves. 6 adults on a table would be comfortable but 8, depending on size, perhaps a squeeze. The food is cooked fresh to order, right in front of you, and the smells are fantastic. There was a good choice of menu all displayed clearly on large blackboards, seafood platter was off due to previous days weather preventing fishing), and everything was hot and flavoursome. Although this is a 'simple ' beach house, the food which is restaurant standard not 'pub grub ')and service is great, the prices reflect this. Perhaps in high season things may get more hectic but from our visit, no complaints. Great evening finished off with a beach walk."

"originally very surprised that the lights were so bright that it ruined any chance of a beautiful atmosphere in a beautiful building. After we had set ourselves, we waited almost minutes before the waiter wanted to take our drinks. I'm not sure what he had to check or why he had to check before we ordered, because it was very quiet. he disappeared and a waitress appeared shortly after and took our job. our appetizers appeared immediately. my squid was treated in what can only be described as flour and water paste that was fried. it was very bland. my friend had the scallops that were good. the main thing was not great. my crispy halibut was tiny and the chips were really terrible. think about soggy palid school dinner chips. the beingeschirr of chard was beautiful, but overall the meal was bad. the cod curry of my friend with rice looked like a teller dog sick and had a massive bone in him, which was unexpected and she would not have chosen it if she had known it so. I've been closing with her. it tasted okay, but looked grim. the service was terrible with taking off the cat who brought the drinks that was very efficient. but he did not take the drinks orders, so we sat drinking water for half time. it's such a shame because it could be really good. sort out the lighting. they lose the gray pink walls and develop a certain content together with the waiting staff. they were all friendly, but not very good at selling food and drinks. on the plus side the fish was very fresh and it is very cheap."

"we were thrilled by this bar restaurant that looked over the sea in ullapool. I tried to start the oysters and they were perfect. I would just go back for it! the desserts were delicious, although at £ 8.00 maybe a little expensive and there was a lot of choice. my friends were happy with their head. a hugging bowl and a hit salmon salad. I chose the makrelensalat, but was disappointed. too many carrots, not enough makrele. although it was delicious enough. at over £30 per person, including drinks, it was a pleasant meal. would recommend."

"We stopped in our campervan at this village store cabin in the carpark during our journey. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Although we didn't need any services, they seemed willing to assist with anything we might have needed. The restaurant is described as an "aire" but we were not sure of the specific services available. However, we highly recommend this place. There are 5 spaces for campervans and plenty of parking for cars. We had a dine-in dinner which cost between £30-£40 per person. The food, service, and atmosphere all scored a perfect 5. We recommend trying the Fish & Chips and the Fries. Vegetarian options are clearly labeled on the menu. There is plenty of free parking available at this location."

"Though this rustic, charming cafe was busy, I greatly enjoyed coming here for the tea and soup. I came here for my birthday, and though the staff were harried with all the customers, they provided kindly service. The soup of the day, butternut squash, proved a creamy autumnal delight, and I equally enjoy my steaming, sweet Earl Grey tea. Payment is easy here, and you can take as much time as you need with your food without feeling rushed. I recommend sitting outside and sipping your warm beverage and watching the excited crowds of people pass along the old stone streets. Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4"

"It had been a while since my last visit, but it was even better than I had remembered! I am already thinking about coming back for breakfast next time. Be sure to try the venison dish, it's delicious. The service was impeccable, and the atmosphere was perfect for a leisurely lunch. "Visiting Port Patrick again today we thought we would try a new place to eat. We normally eat at the same place here but today with chose the Crown Hotel. When you walk into the crown you see how old it is and I must admit it looks quant but a little dated. After finding a seat and deciding what to eat I went to the bar to order food and drinks. The service from the member of staff were pleasant and welcoming. We ordered 2 cokes and 2 stake and ale in a pudding one with chips and one with baby potatoes. We were charged a few pence short of £39 and given 2 cans of coke and asked would we like a glass with them? £4.80 for 2 cans of coke) Going back to the table I sat down and within less than 5 minutes our food was there on our table. I always worry when the food is so quick as I never feel it properly prepared fresh for you and when you are paying £17 a meal you at least want something fresh-ish. WHAT REALLY ANNOYED ME was while we were eating our food people were bringing dogs into the bar past our table to talk to a guy sat next to us. Chatting away these dogs were just sat by our feet as we ate. No one seemed to care about these dogs brushing up against people eating a meal. The food The baby potatoes were ok, the pudding was a frozen one you would get from a supermarket, the veg was hard, the meat was dry and bland and the gravy tasteless. I would say this food was a preprepared meal and just placed into a microwave. I don’t like to be so blunt in my reviews as this is always someone’s business and livelihood was are talking about, but this really was that bad. The service during the meal was none existent. When the waitress came to take our plates she did not seem surprised when I complained about our food, saying only I’ll pass it on. No apologies or anything. Even with me saying the food was especially the veg was disgusting. It was like water off a ducks back. Will I eat here again NO sadly the service and the food was very poor."

"Favourite place for lunch when visiting my mum. Feels just like Turkey with authentic flavours, and flamboyant staff; some of the food exceeded what I ate in really good restaurants in Turkey 1 month ago whilst on holiday there. Ask for WiFi as there is no phone reception as the restaurant is built into the base of the Hastings rock and caves. Totally recommended. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5"

"The Caesar salad with halloumi was delicious. The water was infused with some sort of fresh herbs which was a surprise, as it was tap water, and was free, but it was very refreshing. The service was top notch. The staff was very attentive and kind. The atmosphere were calming and relaxing, I almost felt like I was doing mindful eating. I cannot find one fault with this restaurant. I will be coming back to try different things on the menu. I would for sure recommend this restaurant."

"Stopped off here for lunch on way home to Scotland, having good memories of this cafe from a visit several years ago. We were glad to find that it was still open and serving a wide variety of meal and snack options including lots of gluten free choices which pleased my husband who has coeliac disease. "Probably the tastiest fish and chips I've ever had. The service was great and the lady taking my order asked if I'd like Hake, rather than Haddock. I love Hake so I'm glad it was offered and shows the benefits of a restaurant in a fishing village as they flex to the catch of the day. A short wait later and my order was called and we sat in the harbour and ate beautifully cooked hake that was grease-free with a sumptuous golden batter and superb chips. Literally couldn't recommend more highly."
