"3 michelin star lunch at @alainducasseatthedorchester London Thoughts Amuse Bouche The crackers and bread left a lot to be desired but the lobster and apple foam soup looking thing were tangy, refreshing and delicious. STARTERS The pumpkin tart was deconstructed on the plate. Personally I found there was too much pastry for the toppings available. The three way wild mushrooms was definitely the favourite out of the two. There is something about the way a fantastic chef can make mushrooms turn awesome. In terms of experience we were a bit shocked how many times we had been up sold something by this early point. It’s not something we have been accustomed to before unless other establishments are just more suave about it. MAINS The salmon and turnip was incredible as was the duck and celeriac. We were expecting the usual story telling to come in by now that highlighted something special about the food but it didn’t come. DESSERT Apple tarte tartin now I’m a huge apple dessert fan. Like HUGE. So this was suppose to be an easy win. Unfortunately, I found it uninspiring. Give me a @humblecrumblelondon any day of the week. The chestnut Mont Blanc was a lot nicer but once again not great. The freebies we got at the end of the chocolates and little tarts and profiteroles were all exceptional. It was great to know they had a chocolate shop as they were really good. Especially the coconut one. THE EXPERIENCE To me a Michelin star experience is so much more then exceptionally cooked food. It is the story, the art of it. It’s spending hours in a beautiful place sampling a beautiful food story. The venue was stunning, the atmosphere was a bit too pretentious for my liking and between the upsells and lack of narrative. The money couldn’t be justified on this. Delicious food, yes. But, the experience is usually so much more."

"Me and my partner have just been to the Miller and Carter restaurant in Leeds to celebrate our anniversary, and wanted somewhere nice enough to eat, so thought we’d try here for the first time, we were NOT disappointed. From arrival, we were made to feel very welcome by all the lovely staff, however brownie points go to a young man called Bradley, who looked after us all night! (I hope that’s his name because it was on the top of the bill, but the nice gentleman with dark hair and glasses that’s just come back to work today . He made us feel VERY welcome, from first getting in to the restaurant to leaving, and definitely made us want to return. There aren’t enough people like Bradley, he was very friendly, attentive and efficient with his service, and was always on the ball to make sure we weren’t dying of thirst. Felt like he went above and beyond for us, and deserved a good tip… and a pay rise too should I say The meal itself was lovely, and the credit goes obviously to the chefs working tonight. Everything about our evening went very smoothly, and we will love to return. Possibly the best steakhouse I’ve ever been to, and it wasn’t too expensive either, which is something we’ve always tried to consider if we’ve gone for a nice meal. Usually, we found that we could pay a lot for a meal, but would still go hungry by the end of the night. At miller and carter, we had REALLY good portion sizes (maybe a bit tooo big, but can never complain!! and we’re definitely full to the say the least, Thank you for a lovely evening!"

"First thing to mention is that this restaurant is in a very narrow residential street and there is absolutely no parking. How on earth this restaurant was given planning permission to operate I have no idea and it must drive local residents mad. We, a party of 4, arrived at 7.10pm for 7.30pm reservation . We were told we could not be seated as a larger party had to be seated first however when we were shown to our table it was a table that had been free and set when we arrived and we could have sat down. I mention this only because we were offered a drink at the bar however the bar is tiny and has no seating. My advice to other diners don 't arrive early! It was pouring with rain outside, noone offers to take your coats so these had to be put over the back of the chairs we were seating on. Our orders were taken. Two of us ordered lamb. Appreciating that lamb is often served 'pink ' my friend prefers her meat cooked through. We told the server our preference to be told that the chef will not cook it anymore than he sees fit as it 's a 'signature dish '. The starters of soup, goats cheese and mushrooms were fine. Our lamb arrived. The ends were pink however in the main it was raw. The steak was cooked as ordered(not a signature dish? and pie was acceptable. Two desserts were ordered and were acceptable. Coffee on offer was limited just black filter coffee (coffee machine broken . For 4 people bill was £200. We felt rushed throughout. Not sure what this place is trying to be. When we were leaving there were 4 elderly gents drinking pints of beer sitting at a table?? Customers ranged from smartly dressed to baseball caps and jogging pants. Food was good if you can eat raw lamb. It feels like 'Emperor 's new clothes ' syndrome is at play here. We will not return and would not recommend. Parking: There is no parking at all. The narrow street is full of residents vehicles. You just have to drive around to find a space in nearby side streets."
