"A great selection of ice creams, but that 's about it for gluten free options. Slightly worrying that I had to explain to the staff what is meant by gluten free , and there seemed to be no understand of the concept of cross contamination. The place has a slightly run down feel to it too, giving the feel of a kebab house at 2am on a Saturday morning. The food finally arrived for my partner, after being served to another customer. Probably won 't be coming back."

"A dessert lover's paradise, and it’s not just for those who can eat gluten! Although the full menu isn't available gluten-free, they do offer delicious gluten-free waffles and pancakes, along with other delightful treats like macarons, chocolate-dipped strawberries, chocolate shots, and ice cream or gelato. I indulged in American waffles, a macaron, a white chocolate shot, and a mocktail. Everything was scrumptious, but I definitely needed to lie down afterward to recover from all the sugar! :D"

"Omg this place is amazing! Forget the big ice-cream chains, this is the place to go. They have a massive selection of homemade gelato ice-cream, which is the best I've ever tried to be honest and I've been to italy! Two very welcoming and friendly owners here, always smiling and chatty. I've been three times and should venture out on their lovely looking food and drinks menu but just can't stop eating their gelato! Highly recommended! 5stars all round!"

"A unsettling experience. The shop itself is very outdated and falling apart. It was very badly lit and a strange man was sitting in a dark corner staring at anyone who entered. The staff seemed annoyed by the fact that customers had entered and were not welcoming. I ordered some tango ice blasts which seemed to have been watered down with limited flavour and mostly ice. Unfortunately I will not be returning"

"I would give this restaurant zero stars if I could. My party and I were excited to dine here for dinner. We arrived on time with a reservation, but the waitress seemed surprised. We ordered dessert and water but waited 30 minutes without any update. It took 35 minutes just to get our water. When we asked about our dessert, the waitress said it would be another 10 minutes. After waiting for so long despite having a reservation, we decided to cancel our order. The waitress did not offer to speed things up or apologize. We found dessert elsewhere that was faster and cheaper. Overall, this experience was a disappointing waste of time."

"I have walked past this place a few times and always smells amazing. I decided a few weeks ago to try it and it was delicious. The girl at the counter explained what everything was and also gave me a recommendation and i decided to have the mixed meat shawarma loaded box with chips, lettuce, carrot along with a mint sauce and tomato. I asked to have the sauces seperate incase i didnt like the sauces on top. I took this as a takeout and a gentleman came running up the road saying he gave us the wrong sauces and put 2 new ones in my bag that id asked for and apologised. Honestly the customer service was fantastic and the food was so nice that i have been back since."

"Took my mum here for Mother's Day and WOW was I impressed. The level of customer service, attentiveness of the server (who I believe was the Manager) and the food was gorgeous, such good value for money and the atmosphere was lovely. It says on the menu for the tipsy afternoon tea that you get 2 glasses of prosecco each but our server went above and beyond and topped up our glasses regularly. I can honestly say we never had an empty glass the entire 1.5 hours we spent there! I can genuinely say I've never had such exceptional customer service, particularly at a venue like Slug and Lettuce, and our server (the Manager I think) is both a testament to this individual venue and the wider business. Phenomenal."

"Absolutely amazing desserts and setting but awful service. We were a large group and the youngest (8 yr old) didn’t get her dessert with the rest of ours. We had trouble getting staff attention and eventually they started making her’s. She was sitting sad so everyone gave her parts of theirs and she was disappointed. She had got hers after everyone else had finished. The waiter had just laughed and said that it was on the list he had given the kitchen. Not even an apology! Also so slow to take our plates away. "I've been a couple of times and it really made an impression as I particularly wanted to return when I happened to be staying in Leeds with my family. The atmosphere is lovely with live piano music, spectacular views over the canal and large high ceilings and chandeliers. The service is a little chaotic with someone offering us drinks and as they leave the table someone else approaching us from another angle to offer us more drinks. "We went for breakfast on a Saturday around 11:30am and I put 1 star for service because unfortunately there was only 1 waiter there doing everything bless him, must have only been like 18/19 years old. Management you need to understand that heavenly desserts will be busy on a Saturday morning especially when there’s a Christmas market so make sure you have enough staff on the floor and in the kitchen because we waited 30 minutes to have our order taken and when we eventually got our food the waffles were cold and they’re usually warm and crispy. We saw quite a few people leave as well. I’m not bashing heavenly desserts because it is fantastic but the management need to be more organised"

"Additionally, the menus were taken away after we ordered, leading us to ask multiple times for service when we wanted more drinks. We also didn’t receive enough napkins—only two for six people. The cutlery was scattered in the center of the table and there wasn't even enough for everyone, so some had to share a fork for their ice cream. Even though I had made a reservation, the table wasn’t set up properly, which forced the host to rearrange tables. It seemed relatively quiet, so I was surprised by the disorganization. "Found out that under new ownership since October 2023, so recommendations to me were based on friends experience with previous owners. The manager was friendly and very attentive, asking lots of questions, explaining their menu when asked, telling me that the interior will be changed in the near future. Anyway, for starters we chose Calamari, Garlic Mushrooms with Cheese, King Prawns, and Halluomi. We then all helped ourselves to bits and pieces of each. The starters were plentiful in portion size, with all choices being great, especially the garlic mushrooms with cheese. For mains we chose a mixed grill, chicken shish, lamb ribs, and chicken wings and chips for my daughter. The chicken and lamb shish were both tender and full of flavour, and the lamb ribs were great. They all came with slad and bulgur (I can only describe it as a cross between rice and cous-cous).The mixed grill was plentiful in size and looked appetising, but my father in law enjoyed that all to himself , so I can only assume it was good. My daughter enjoyed her chicken wings too We were given bread on the table, which was warm and full of flavour too. We were definitely made to feel welcome, and will definitely return. Good to know that they deliver too. We were at the restaurant early (5pm booking), so were the only people in the restaurant, however, there was a constant stream of delivery drivers collecting orders for delivery. It was my daughters birthday the following day, so tye manager gave her a small dessert on the house as well. Parking: A few parking spaces on the street just a couple of doors down from the restaurant , where you use the RingGo App or good old cash to pay for parking."
