"I'm afraid to say I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone , was left completely fuming with the service , the food and the overall approach by the staff at cafe football!! The so called manager Gabrielle or whatever her name is was rude from start to finish we booked our table for the Fa cup final but was told he had under two hours to eat and leave and couldn't extend our stay , the waiters were clueless and didn't understand why we wanted drinks after being seated for half hour im pretty sure it's human rights to be able to order a drink in a so called restaurant , the starters were below par and questionable , the Mains we ordered weren't what we asked for and when asking the so called manager why she couldn't be bothered to answer our questions , so I'm afraid to say after visiting cafe football before I wouldn't come back even if you paid me disgusting and I will be getting in touch with trading standards as we found dirty cuttery and glasses on our table and not even a sorry from staff very little care from all at cafe football!!! Please cc the restuatenat in as I would like to hear what they have to say"

"So disappointed tonight. Havnt been here for quite sometime. Had recommended this pub to a friend for her birthday as have not been disappointed before with food or service. Tonight was different. Maybe because we didn't go till 7 but that should not be an excuse. Food order was wrong and the woman serving it was rather rude it was as if our fault. The food was like it was the dregs at end of the day. One of our party ordered the curry she didn't even get her rice and the amount of curry in the bowl wasn't even half. Such a shame and very disappointing. Heard people on table over from us who also got incorrect order. Shocking really"

"We visited this place whilst staying at a local holiday park with three kids and a dog at teatime and we’re really pleasantly surprised with the standard of the food. The younger kids had burgers and chips and a dessert off the kids menu which was good and the older girl had macaroni cheese off the main menu which she enjoyed. I had foot long nachos which were spot on and my girlfriend had a mini dish tapas selection of three dishes which she enjoyed. Those meals with a round of four drinks cost £55 which we thought was excellent value especially as the food was good."

"Scarborough flyer has always been one of our family’s favourite bars in Scarborough. Staff are always ‘top class’ and very helpful and obliging. However, we will never return to the pub due to their door staff who are complete and utter bullies! I witnessed a lovely looking family who I feel was targeted due to one of the females having a black child with her and her family. The door staff were aggressive, and trying to snatch a drink out of a young females hands in the group and telling them to leave. We were astounded by this behaviour because they had just arrived, and we were sat next to them and was unable to see any reason for the door staffs behaviour. Apparently, it was due to the young boy wearing trackies I must say the young boy was dressed very smartly) and the doorman said it was not allowed, however, there were no signs stating you could not wear track suit bottoms after a certain time this was 8pm in the evening. We personally believe they were being racist towards what appeared to be a very nice family. The family stated they were going to take the matter further and I offered my number to them if they needed a witness regarding the hostility showed by the bouncers!"

I was very impressed by the kindness and helpfulness of the staff; they assisted us immediately when we had questions. The food was tasty, and the drinks were reasonably priced. "at the time in the pub sitting after the most delicious meal (lasagne followed by chocolate fudge cake compliments at the chef! also very cheap prices and generous portions. I have severe mental health and physical diseases and the personal was very nice and very accommodating. even me on the table near the disabled toilet. can't blame them, they should be proud of their excellent service and care. also the love that it is dog friendly, as I love dogs, to see all the different come, has made my day. will definitely be visited again and also bring my friends! next to the pub here. Thanks again."

"Sandemans fine dining tasting menu paired with some delicious wines was the perfect evening for us. The food was delicious and the wine worked well. The only disappointing thing was that there were almost no interesting options for our guest who does not drink alcohol. The only offering was a 0% lager or the usual other soft drinks. We wanted to order a fabulous mocktail or interesting non alcoholic pairing option from the menu. This was not possible here but our delightful waiter did accept the feedback and thought it would be a great idea to have something interesting for the non alcohol drinker or indeed the appointed driver. The restaurants decoration was lovely and the atmosphere special. The toilets could definately be upgraded they don't reflect the style or standard of the restaurant. Toilet seat hanging off in one of the two cubicles too. However, it was a very special evening which we all enjoyed and look forward to returning and experiencing the upgrades which will ensure things only get better from an already great position."

"We go to this pub a lot, mainly for a drink and the occasional meal. Today we went for Sunday lunch, something we rarely go out for. It was fab. The vegetables, especially were really well cooked, just right. The meat, I had pork and my husband had turkey, was juicy and tasty. For the price, less than a tenner each it was fantastic. The drinks are always good, plenty real ale at a very good price and the house wine are great. And, you cannot fault the friendliness of the staff. Helen, the barnaid/server is just great."

"Great place to pop into and get a great atmosphere. I went in around 5pm today, Sat 5th Aug. I was greeted by what i perceived to be the manager, a woman who's name i can't remember. I was then served by a tall, stout man, he was young. Dark hair and facial hair. His manner seemed a bit brusque and bordering on rude. He gave me my drink and i paid. 10 mins later i went back to the bar and asked to order food, i was served by the woman i mentioned earlier. I had some very specific requests with regard to my food order, so i discussed them and was helped very well. My food came out quickly and was very tasty. Overall a very positive experience, i will be back"

"We went along to take advantage of their reopening special offer of a free meal with a newspaper voucher. Right from the off, the staff were helpful and explained the deal and procedure. Three of us ordered steaks, a rare, medium rare, and medium. All three were cooked to perfection. The steaks were large and melt in the mouth. It's probably the best steak I have had for a very long time. Our fourth member had the bog standard pub grub....Balmoral chicken, which she ate and enjoyed too. Again, they did not insult with the portion size. Service was pretty quick and efficient, too. Wine ranged from just under £14 for the house to under 20 quid for a bottle.. Both were decent. As a bonus, by downloading and registering on their app, we got a free drink, and we even got a couple of desserts and a really good strong coffee, courtesy of guy who had a couple of vouchers he passed on to us. They didn't disappoint either OK, this won't happen every time, but as a promotion, it worked because they have gained 4 new customers. If they can keep up that standard of food and service, it will be our go-to for a pub grub night out. Interesting all the staff seemed to be men and no student staff. The weekend might be different, but honestly, they were so professional. A pleasant surprise nowadays."

I think her name was Evie, she was a joy everytime I was served by her and her sweet and cheerful demeanor made for a great time. "We went in last saturday for a meal and a couple of pints, it 's quite a regular thing. It was quite busy and we were lucky to get a table after waiting about 5 minutes. My partner went to order and was gone some time , 20 minutes or thereabouts. I figured she must be chatting to one of the staff as we always have a good laugh with them. Then my partner came to me slightly distressed , she was having trouble getting served even after 20 minutes stood at the bar. She was stood at the corner and the bar staff were seemingly only serving those at the front of the bar, even though my partner had been stood waiting to be served some 15 minutes before a lot of them. She shouted out to the barstaff ' are you serving '? The responded with 'you don 't get served any quicker by shouting ' and repeated this mantra style , trying to wind my partner up, which they did and regretably my partner told one of them to where to go. She realised this was wrong but she is registered disabled and in constant pain and can 't stand for long periods. She didnt want any favours for being disabled, she is too proud to ask for them. All she wanted was to be served when it came to her turn, which was clearly not happening. When I confronted the barman he said 'we don 't really serve here ' I said 'I know, I can see ' He then produced a ' Glass collection only ' placard, 20+ minutes too late. he said it was a non serving area even though there was a visa card machine there on the bar and we 've always been served there before without any problem . On our way out I just happened to look behind me to see 'Sydney ' a female member of the barstaff give the finger and saw her mouth ' off ' Now does anybody think a person like that should be working in the leisure industry ? All 3 of the barstaff were incompetent in my eyes and need a talking to or re-training. We went for a pleasurable night out, not aggro, we 're in our 60 's not yobs. We spent about £20, not a lot I know, we would have stayed longer and spent double that, still not a lot but every little counts. And as for bringing my grandkids here for a treat total spend £40+ I don 't think that 'll happen again. I see the pub wants to increase it 's taking by £2000 every week . . It ain 't gunna happen with abusive barstaff that you had on that night. Thank you. Brian. Ps I emailed and texted the manager to see if we could solve this issue amicably. NO REPLY which says a lot. Pps I hear Darleys do good meals."

"I visited this pub on Saturday night and found the bar staff to be very friendly and polite. However, there was one member of staff who was collecting glasses on the floor. She approached our table, leaned over me, clicked her fingers, and demanded my empty glass. I was taken aback by how rude this young lady was. I am a regular at this pub and have never had this type of experience before. It seemed like she was being shadowed by another lady, as they were together all night. If this staff member was supposed to be in training, it was very unprofessional for her to act this way in front of her supervisor and the group I was with."

"Selected low scores and the actual reason is that despite travelling for hours, paying to stay in a top notch London hotel and expecting to be able to dine at the restaurant I had booked weeks before, we were turned away at the door because Lurch the doorman' who looked like he was itching to break out his yellow belt in Judo, decided to be a jobs-worth about ID. My girlfriend is 23, so we are not talking about a situation with someone being close to 18 or even looking 18. But because they decided she looked under 25' (if you're aged 23 but look 28 you'd probably be ok) they refused to budge. Incidentally, my girlfriend happened to have a photo of her ID, but they wouldn't accept that. They insisted it needed to be the physical ID. Rude and obnoxious doorman and management unwilling to use their discretion."

"on my recent trip to zaap, as they could remember, I passed his neighbour ‘Oaks’; a restaurant that had been a past on my ‘going’ list, as food blogger they quickly torn a ton of these. but what was in strong contrast, that zaap was full of crispy with its loud interieur, sat quietly on the side, almost firming as; they even had to resort to a “we-are-offen-the-doors-are-closed-only-to-keep-us-warm” sign. So I wondered why, what looked like a nice restaurant with, in which really great reviews all over was deadly calm on my little culminating through and on my actual visit."
