"We arrived to a table, with mucky plates and no chairs in the main bar area. We had booked the resteraunt. After trying to explain to the staff we had booked the resteraunt we were moved upstairs onto a table which we were told we had an hour and a half before we had to go as the next group were coming to eat. Whilst upstairs there was no room, we were like chickens in a coop. If you were sat to the left of the table you couldn't get out to go to the bar toilet. None of the staff sempt interested and weren't helpful at all. I don't usually leave bad reviews but on this occasion I am doing as eating here ruined my 21st. Terrible service, wouldn't reccommend at all."

"The food was very well cooked, full of flavours and the presentation was fantastic. However the service was dissapoiting. They forgot our wine order so we had to remind them after we got our starters. They also mixed up the starter sauces and gave my boyfriend chocolate sauce to go with his Yorkshire pudding and beef (instead of red wine jus). It didn't go well and sadly he realised that too late. They also mixed up our sides and we had to wait several minutes with the main meals going cold for them to bring the right ones. Our booking was on sat evening and there were only 4-5 tables there the whole time so they were not busy. You just expect a better service and less mistakes when you pay £100 for two people dinner+drinks."

"Popped in today at 6pm with my dad, now I used to go to this restaurant with my dad, friends and family all the time and the two male waiters /bar tenders were fab. Today I showed up without a booking and there was only...one couple at the table. I asked if they could fit us in bearing in mind it was just about to be 6pm and they said they had no availability bearing in mind the restaurant was empty, they said if I had a reservation which I said I didn’t. Anyway we left, going outside I said to my dad that it was weird they never have treated me that way before so we quickly went online to book a table. What a coincidence there was a table available at 6:15 and 6:30pm for two people. Extremely disappointed and won’t be going back the girls attitudes were abysmal, pitty the waiter guy was at another table I bet he would have sat us down at a table straight away and welcomed us with a friendly smile like he always did. Won’t be going back and very very poor attitude and service from the 3 girls at the entrance and bar. I guess they didn’t fancy working today."

"We came to the restaurant to celebrate my friend's birthday and taste American food. I was most looking for food from the smoker, and the beef briquettes were not disappointed. The bet was also very nice. We had the fudge cake and the New York cheese cake for the desert and really enjoyed it. The service was excellent."

"The night started well, great place, great decoration, nice welcome. Lovely waitress. But sadly the food was a let down. Dry pigs cheek. Over cooked haddock, rubbery steak and poor attitude from the owner/manager. No customer service whatsoever. Left standing in restaurant while he went off to talk to the kitchen. It was us that weren't pleased with the food and that should have been good enough. We offered to pay for our drinks and after a lengthy wait we left paying for nothing. After 3 phone calls from him and no apology he is reporting us to the police for doing a runner. We are in our 60s and can't run anywhere! He could have made the evening great by treating us properly, but insisted there was nothing wrong with our food as he had tasted it. I hope he enjoyed it more than we did. It seems the customer couldn't have an opinion and should eat whatever is put in front of them."

"Very friendly, attentive and helpful staff. The starters were all interesting and not disappointing. For the mains, the steak was excellent and cooked to perfection. The sides were also excellent. Unfortunately the lobster was disappointing. The meat was removed and cooked with the mac cheese and then the whole mixture was replaced in the empty lobster shell. This totally subdued the taste of lobster and the cheesy taste was too dominant. Difficult to tell if the lobster was pre-cooked or cooked live. The shell was small and hopefully it was not re-cycled as the head and claws were missing from the presentation. Apart from that, enjoyed the steak and everything else. Will definitely eat there again only for the steaks and avoid the lobster."

"I went on Friday night for the first time in almost two years with my usual co-administrators to the king's." I was quite overwhelmed to find the atmosphere intact, everyone relaxed, no mandat nonsense, just do what a pub is to get a table. Relax down and with a drink. to go to a bar and not speak through a plastic screen. the personal was so inviting even after so much time! I really felt humble, these people here really invest in their customers. munchables were the usual what they see is what they get and very satiating standard, delivered fast and hot. I am so glad to be back and hope to visit the king again as regularly as we have done before."

"I'm a bit obsessed with the hot wings there. beautiful place to visit during the week, put points in plus as I can work from laptop while I have a coffee. nice for an evening dinner on the earth with family, good children menu. livelier at the weekend, but they have a dj on and 2-4-1 on cocktails that is a plus. beer garden is beautiful when it is warm, but there are protected areas when it rains. not my thing, but the other half appreciates the big screens to watch the football. the employees work hard and are always helpful, never had a problem."

"First time at Robatary. We were impressed by the service. We had two people in our group that had mobility problems and the seats allocated were not suitable, the staff had no hesitation in setting up and providing an alternative table. The service was attentive and polite without being intrusive. Once we understood how the menu was set out, the food was excellent. A friendly suggestion, the pancakes served with the duck, would be better served flat than packaged in a nice square which made them difficult to separate. We would definitely go there again."

"Our experience from start to finish was outstanding. We were warmly welcomed by the staff upon arrival, and it only got better from there. "I'm afraid to say I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone , was left completely fuming with the service , the food and the overall approach by the staff at cafe football!! The so called manager Gabrielle or whatever her name is was rude from start to finish we booked our table for the Fa cup final but was told he had under two hours to eat and leave and couldn't extend our stay , the waiters were clueless and didn't understand why we wanted drinks after being seated for half hour im pretty sure it's human rights to be able to order a drink in a so called restaurant , the starters were below par and questionable , the Mains we ordered weren't what we asked for and when asking the so called manager why she couldn't be bothered to answer our questions , so I'm afraid to say after visiting cafe football before I wouldn't come back even if you paid me disgusting and I will be getting in touch with trading standards as we found dirty cuttery and glasses on our table and not even a sorry from staff very little care from all at cafe football!!! "Booked a table at 4pm today for the England vs Denmark Euros game. New the Flyer would be busy as we were there for Englands first game on Sunday. We were not disappointed, its was super full. Ordered food at the bar 20 minutes before the game started, although busy only had to wait 10 minutes to get served. Team behind the bar all working hard and fast. Not to sure what the Manager was doing, taking pictures on his mobile of the busy floor for Facebook or instagram I assume. He should have been serving behind the bar. Leading from the front I think. That’s what his predecessor would have done. Moving on, food arrived in 30 minutes, burgers and sides for all of our party, like the food on the first England game night it was great, hot, tasty 5* from us. One of my friends went to order drinks from the bar 5 minutes before the half time bell. Tried to get served for nearly 15 minutes, no chance, called it a day and came and sat down empty handed, So another one in our group ordered on the app for delivery to out booth, yes we have done this before. The drinks arrived 30 minutes later.never mind. We will be booking for the next England game on Tuesday night. All we hope is that the team behind the bar is the maximum it can be, from 1 hour before kick off until the full time whistle, Also please do us all a favour and not play loud music during half time. Most people are there to watch the game and to listen to the analysis for 10 minutes at half time, loud music before the start and after full time please , I promise it would make a difference to your customers."

"I have been here before for drinks, but im leaving a review based on a really positive interaction i had there with staff i had no battery and needed to call a cab home..
