"While on a long road trip across the country, I needed some fuel and stumbled upon this restaurant. The Jamaican curry goat, served with tasty rice, soft roti, and fried plantains on the side, was exactly what I needed. All of this, plus a drink, only cost me about £21. The curry goat was packed with flavor, the meat was tender, and the sauce was delightful. The plantains were also fantastic and you get a generous portion. Overall, the food, ambiance, and price were all top-notch. I would definitely recommend this place."

"service restaurant we were the worst too. we arrived there 30 minutes before our booking. there was no point in booking because only one table was occupied. the staff told us to come back in 30 minutes, as the cook is very busy, we pointed out that we had a booking and it was only in table occupied. they then sat down and we waited 15 minutes before the rise and leave, as the personal ignored us and just talked to the tables. they were all obviously on a pause .. they did not even leave us and did not care. what is funny is any other restaurant in the center had a hurry to come. I doubt this place will survive"

"If you are visiting the Callanish Stones this summer 2024 possibly next summer too... , this is the nearest place for a proper sit down inside , out of the rain, eating opportunity. The Callanish Stones visitor centre is closed for refurbishment, and only has a trailer serving instant tea coffee. This place is just abiut 5miles 10 minutes drive North of the stones, Limited lunchtime menu , soup, toasties, baked potatoes, sandwiches, sticky toffee pudding, but all quite nice. They could do worse than up their game with lunchtime menu just a touch, whilst the Callanish visitor centre is getting refurbished, and become a Must Visit rather than a Nice To Visit. They should ask the Visitor Centre Tea Trailer to have a wee poster or business cards, cos it's a shame to go to the Stones on a wet rainy day and not realise there's somewhere near ish to go for a sit down light meal. Lovely Staff, lovely decor in restaurant, nice wee local bar in same building. If you're doing the West Side Circular Stones, Broch, Garenin etc , this is a good place to refresh."

"The service at this restaurant was terrible with no organization. It was the first time I have ever left a restaurant. While this restaurant seemed like it had everything in place, in reality it was a disaster. We waited 20 minutes just to receive a menu, then placed our order only to wait another 45 minutes with still no food. Despite asking three different staff members, we still had no luck after an additional 30 minutes. There was no organization or communication among the staff. In the end, we left without even getting any food. On the bright side, the music was really good. I hope they improve their organization and consider hiring more staff. It's a real shame, and I'm sorry to say this."

"Unfortunately, today we had a terrible experience at the hb. led by a team member who clearly had no desire to work in gastronomy. the place was quiet and we waited for more minutes for our eating, that was very bad; fat fish...and warm-ish chips, tartrate sauce from a bottle and style over substance on a dish. when the server interacted with us and saw that I had left more than half the fish, reacted with “earning to hear that” when I said that eating was “underpowering” and did not frighten us to see us in the eye. So, I ask to pay, nothing yet mentioned about experience, full payment for draft of softdrinks had taken and fish and chips vegan had left out and was loaded full price I was so shocked that this was the end of the desire that I asked to speak with the manager. amy said that apart from offer, welcome us back, there was nothing she could do, and was dependent on me that our server was “atrocious” really!? Avoiding them at all costs, they can have a delicious main course in most other Byres road restaurants at a much cheaper price."

"I dare not often camden town, but was convinced by my friend for good things he heard about thanh binh. the restaurant itself looks small and cozy from the outside, but when they enter, they see that it leads to another huge space, so they cannot enter when they see that it looks busy from the window! the decor is standard and very similar to other Vietnamese restaurants. remarkable is the owner a living woman who greets at diners and looks at a warm and friendly ambiente. now the important part. we ordered the bung thit nuong (chargrilled pork) and were not disappointed! the part was a decent size for the price and the black beautifully marinated. but we were a tad disappointed by our bungalows. as Vietnamese we noticed that some of the ingredients were missing from the court and the flavors were not as strong as we hoped (missing that kick!) we acknowledge that thanh binh may have changed the recipe to match the western taste buds, and the court in general was nice, only not traditional version of the bungalow bo hue. would we return? undecided."

"I took my partner here as a surprise for his birthday recently. A few years ago we travelled across Cambodia and enjoyed so much of the food we’d had there, so it was lovely to find a restaurant serving Cambodian dishes. When we arrived Marilynn...explained to us that Thomas was the only chef so waits could take slightly longer, but it meant that all the food was deliciously fresh. We were spoiled for choice and so chose the Set Menu because we couldn’t decide! Everything that came out was so tasty, especially our Lok Luk and Asparagus mains. Marilynn also took some time to sit down with us and explain how they’d started their restaurant up over 30 years ago, and how Thomas’ cuisine was a contemporary take on traditional dishes he had grown up with. To finish Marilynn gave us some Thai Banana Cakes- which my partner wolfed down! We loved visiting this restaurant, it was a charming evening, and we felt so welcomed- I’ll definitely be coming here again as there’s so much more on the menu I’d love to try! Thanks Thomas and Marilynn!"

"I can't exaggerate how delicious it was. we were a big group that all ordered something else. everything was carefully and freshly prepared and the food was clearly combined with love for detail and care. I had the noi (vegan) fish catcher, aubergine and tofu curry and was so satisfied with my decisions. simply the most tasty eating I've been making vegan for a few years."

"As a local Bankie I have visited this establishment on various occasions during a shopping trip to Clydebank (more for groceries) and whilst the food is good, although fairly basic, the standard of customer service leaves much to be desired in terms of any friendly...customer interaction. My visit today however reached a low point in abject rudeness from the young(ish) woman who was on the order desk...and it seems was the self appointed sentinel of the table allocation. The sign as you enter requests that you wait to be allocated to a table.....but the reality is that there is very rarely anyone tasked to do this job as they always seem to be understaffed. On this occasion I moved to a table as there were plenty of free tables and in the past have in any event been asked which one I preferred. The reaction from the guardian of the table was to shout out for me to wait until you are seated and certainly not in any conciliatory or friendly manner. Obviously she was having a bad day but in these days when retail leisure business need as much business as they can get this is not the way to foster customer loyalty. A fact noticed by other customers waiting to place their order. Needless to say I went elsewhere."

"Very disappointing. Very very disappointing. I have eaten at this restaurant before but after eating there last week I will never go again. I ordered a panang chicken curry, the quality of the meat was poor, the sauce was thin and watery, the rice overcooked and my friends meal was supposed to have seafood in it and there were about 3 bits of seafood which were overcooked and it tasted of nothing. I am a big fan of Thai food and therefore was very disappointed with the quality of the food. We complained and got nowhere, they couldn't of cared less. The restaurant was busy so I think that they have just got to the stage where they are just serving in volume and not worrying about quality...read more"

"This restaurant has recently undergone new ownership, renovations and a complete overhaul. The new owners, Chris from London and Pui from Bangkok, have put a great deal of passion into the establishment. The cuisine is the finest Thai cuisine I have experienced in Edinburgh. The seafood is sourced daily from Leith and the Thai ingredients are imported weekly from Thailand, which truly enhances the dining experience. The restaurant has a warm, family-friendly atmosphere and exceptional service. Overall, it is some of the best food I have had the pleasure of enjoying."
