The dining room is well presented with a good bar and service. While some dishes may be slightly overpriced, the food and drinks are all excellent with beautiful presentation. "Awesome place for a good old pub toast. Chicken beef or ham, it's the way to go! Pulled pork roast is particularly good, make sure you order the cauliflower cheese bake as the side. Goes down with a nice cold British larger for £5 cant go wrong! Be sure to book a table outside if the weather is good, it's gorgeous. No umbrellas on the tables so bring sunscreen, strip off or cover up, she gets hot! Enjoy!"

"The place was very busy due to the Barbican next door. The food was nothing special and in some respects had very little taste. Things looked very nice but must be difficult to make food that tasted of very little. The food at the table came out at different times. The sides we ordered came 10 minutes after the mains. It was ok but probably wouldn’t go again."

"A group of five people had lunch at this restaurant, ordering five main dishes and four desserts, along with one alcoholic drink. The total bill came to over 300 euro, which may seem expensive but could be justified if the food had been exceptional. Unfortunately, the food was only good, not amazing. The price of 38 euro for a small striploin steak felt a bit overpriced. The restaurant itself was beautiful and the staff was lovely. The menu had some appealing options, but the disparity between price and quality left a disappointing impression."

"We had a wonderful experience at the Ely Wine Bar in Dublin. It was a very special day as it was our last day in Ireland. Our attendants Gabriel and Carol made the most out of it for us. Gabriel gave us an excellent recommendation for wine and whiskey and Carol gave us the best recommendations how to celebrate our last day of the journey. The Ely Wine Bar is definitely the best Winebar we've ever been to an we would recommend it to everyone who likes good wine and excellent service. The personalized Service by Carol and Gabriel made us feel like we've been there a plenty of times. We were treated like part of the family and that's the greatest experience we've had on our whole journey. We're definitely gonna come back the next time. Thank you for the wonderful day!!!"

"I recently visited The Wilmington for their Sunday Roast with some out-of-town friends. This place is now on my list for future visits and for satisfying my own Sunday Roast cravings. The menu offers a variety of options, including a vegetarian roast and traditional British dishes like fish and chips and scotch eggs. The Sunday Roast comes with a choice of beef, chicken, or pork, with additional specials like lamb and cote de beouf. Unfortunately, the lamb had already sold out when we arrived for an early dinner, so I recommend going earlier to avoid missing out on the specials. The scotch eggs had a delicious runny yolk and the pork and black pudding layers were well-seasoned and cooked perfectly. The bone marrow on toast starter was a substantial portion and served with crumpets, allowing you to fully enjoy the bone marrow. The staff were friendly and happy to make recommendations from the menu. The pub offers a great selection of beer and wine, as well as specialty spirits. The atmosphere is cozy and away from the busy city center. Overall, a fantastic experience at The Wilmington."

"The food and service at this restaurant are excellent, but it is quite expensive. The building is beautiful and it is in a great location, although it could use a bit more atmosphere. The stools were a bit uncomfortable. The 12.5% service charge as standard seemed steep, especially considering the high prices. It is a nice option for a special occasion or if you are willing to spend £100 per person."

"We absolutely love the Axe and Compasses and have been coming here for the past ten years. It has always been a favourite of ours and when it closed for refurbishment earlier this year, we were worried it wouldn't be the same. Remarkably, we think it's even better now. The food is fantastic and the refurb is totally in keeping with the building. The only thing we have noticed, on the last few occasions, is that the service has been a little bit lacking in speed and attentiveness. Overall, we thoroughly enjoy our times at the A&C and have brought many friends along, all of whom have totally loved it too."

The chateaubriand was poor@ we have had better from Cote at home. The veg was dire, lettice with a butter topping the chips were no better than Mccain. Despite feedback the full bill was paid inc a service charge of £47 for 3 people. I will not be going back. Overpriced. Local pubs have the same seevice and much better food. London House was 10 times better. Very disappointed"

"On arriving we was stood at bar then was just pointed to our table by a young girl, not taken to with the menus. We had to sit there and wait for menus. All ready asked for drinks at bar waited a while for them. Asked one of the young girls what a dish was she said l don't know ill go and ask that took her 10 min's to come back. Then we ordered our food and that took nearly an hour before we got that, no apologies from the waitress. I had the Salmon and pasta meal that was absolutely covered like a soup in a really sickly souse, it made me feel sick all night. My husband had the haddock in batter and said the batter tasted terrible. l only eat mine because after waiting an hour l was really hungry. We then ordered deserts wish we hadn't as they took ages to turn up as well. There just seem to be young girls all faffing about behind the bar with no manager there to sort things out."

"I was disappointed to arrive and find that the menu was different from what was advertised, and several items on the limited menu were unavailable. Additionally, food was only being served downstairs. The quality and value of the food left much to be desired; for example, the sharing cheese board came with just four small, thinly sliced cheeses, which felt rather insufficient, and the frittata was lukewarm. On the positive side, the other dishes had good flavor. The service, however, was commendable—efficient, friendly, and attentive."
