"I came to lunch with some friends after reading fabulous reviews. we live near kingston so from our usual opposite. now we were not disappointed that eating was absolutely delicious and we had a nice charming waitress named noami I hope it is. the right writing! She was attentive without being intrusive and nothing was too much annoyed. we will definitely make the trip back and come here for food. even if we have a parking ticket, as they need a degree to understand the payment instructions and unfortunately we have it wrong, but it will not prevent a return visit. also the restaurant and toilet facilities are absolutely flawless! well made and thank you for a great lunch."

"After booking through OpenTable, I received a call to confirm my reservation. Upon arriving at the restaurant, I was greeted by delightful smells and a great atmosphere. We were led to our table where we were informed about the specials and had our choice of wine and water brought to us. The staff, who were happy and friendly, went out of their way to accommodate a family group next to us who were ordering various dishes from the menu. We opted for the steak meal for two, which was cooked perfectly, and enjoyed a bottle of Rose. I highly recommend trying the Dianne Sauce with your steak. The dessert was also delicious and the attentive and cheerful staff were more than willing to cater to our every need. I will definitely be recommending this restaurant and will return next time I am in the area. Thank you for a wonderful evening."

"When we arrived at the restaurant, they were not aware of the reservation I had made about the Opentable app, which was particularly disappointing when I was in the course of the 30. My friend's birthday party had booked. However, since they were not very busy, they could put us. We ordered the hot Meze plate for 2 and a part of the Hummel. The kitchen was very accommodating when I asked if the hot plate could be served on two different plates to accommodate my and the different nutritional needs of my friend. The food was very delicious and just the right serving for both of us. We also ordered a bottle of white wine and a jug of water. The bottle of white wine unfortunately did not come with an ice cup, so we could not keep it cooled and we had to ask twice for the water. However, the staff was very friendly and excused to forget the water. All in all, the experience was good and I look forward to returning to the future to try more of the menu."

"Next to us, a family group was enjoying their meals, ordering various dishes from the menu, and it was clear that nothing was too much trouble for the cheerful and accommodating staff. We decided to share the steak for two, which was cooked to perfection, and the bottle of rosé we ordered was exquisite. I highly recommend trying the Diane sauce with the steak; it was a perfect complement. For dessert, we were treated to another delicious creation, and once again, the friendly staff made sure we had everything we needed. I will definitely recommend this place, and we look forward to dining here again in the future. Thank you for a wonderful evening!"

"This restaurant needs to rethink how it handles its bookings, I had booked a table for 4 and was told when I got there that they could lay a table up for me or we could sit on a table for 6, whereby the people infront of me hadnt booked and were shown to a table of 4!!!?? We waited an hour for our food! The service was appalling as was the food it wasnt cooked properly! Rather than the staff tell people they couldnt accomodate them before the theatre they kept taking people in and seating them down, when everyone needed to be fed and the bills paid by the same time!! The restaurant was full of theatre goers..??? They should have stated at the door that if you are going to the theatre we cant guarantee that you will be served in time, instead greed got the better of them and they kept seating people!! Most of the restaurant that night complained and were given discounts because of the awful service, my party didnt have time to finish our meals, people left without getting their food, on a table of 3 next to me- 2 people had almost finished theire meal whilst the third hadnt even got theirs!! I will try the restaurant again and hope they have got their act together next time, but if thats not the case we wont be back and wont recommend it!!!"

"Incredible food! It was the first time that I tried Turkish food and I don't regret it AT ALL! Everything was so tasty! My friend and I took the Mix Cold Meze, Sigara Boregi and Kizartma so we could try different things and it actually became our all dinner! Portions are massive, you can actually have two/three meals in a plate so bring your doggy bag or ask for one and enjoy yourself! The waiters were also very kind and genuinely happy, it is good to see smiling staff! The atmosphere is all very welcoming and warm. I think it's my favourite place in Glasgow!"

"I went here with my girlfriend, I was looking for a quiet romantic evening and Sotto Sotto was booked up. I found the staff here very polite, the food was excellent, and the prices very reasonable. I would not hesitate in recommending this place and will be eating there again this week. Note that his is a hidden gem and not too many people know about it judging by the low numbers in the restaurant but that’s how I like it."

"This was our first time visiting this restaurant and we were seated at a table for two by the window. The staff were very friendly and the food was delicious and full of flavor. The restaurant was about a third full, which is pretty good for a Thursday night at the end of November. We were pleasantly surprised when another table's birthday was announced. "I haven't been able to visit lower Charminster for a couple of years or so. I was very hungry early evening on Tuesday 17th August 2021 and I went that way to order a favourite of mine, which is a chicken korma curry at the...Curry Master. I was disappointed to find it closed. This turned into a lucky day! Roxy's Bistro Bar was open. I went in and I was overjoyed to see Roxy herself on duty. Years ago I was a regular at Roxy's and virtually every time I went in Roxy was often working alone. I always enjoyed the food and a few pints of Becks. I mentioned to Roxy that my favourite pint is a Guinness. Much to my delight Roxy took note and announced on my next visit that canned Guinness with a widget inside was now on the drinks menu. It was delicious surprise from a can. Roxy has upstaged this can since then. Now another type of can is available. The Guinness is first poured into a glass and then placed on what appears to be an ultrasonic plate for a period of time. The result is as if it was poured from the traditional nitrogen gas hand pump. It's so close, it's not worth mentioning the subtle difference. I mentioned to Roxy I was starving and I would like to see the menu. Bless Roxy for remembering my preference for meat and fries. I went for Roxy's suggestion of a Today's Special of BBQ ribs with fries. The fries were unlike any I have had before, they were not out of fat frier for sure. They were delicious! The meat on the ribs was succulent and melted in my mouth with a wonderful tasting glazed sauce as a compliment. I enjoyed the fries even more when I dipped them in a pot of sauce which accompanied the me. No surprises for getting a great drink and a meal. What was really great is to find Roxy is back in her Bistro after taking a break from the restaurant to bring two lovely girls into the world. I recommended the Bistro years ago and I endorse the Bistro today. Do pop in and see for yourself. If you have a favourite and it's not on the menu mention it to Roxy and perhaps you'll find it available next time you visit? WELCOME BACK ROXY!"

"This is an exciting new establishment in a location that has seen many different businesses over the years. The pizzas are generously sized, and the dough is particularly impressive. My 9-year-old, a huge pizza enthusiast who has sampled many places, considers this one of his favorites. "New Management. I discovered this cafe 3 years ago when a lovely brunette girl by the name Jerry and her mother Sonya had taken over management. For 3 years the cafe has worked like clockwork with amazingly cheap comfort food. The family have run this cafe with love tha reflected on the way they treated their customers. I have witnessed members of staff hugging other customers and I myself have neen given several freebies. The chef (mother) even baked her own spinach cake and allowed me to try it for free. Unfortunately, this family have left and have been replaced by a new group of people who should not be allowed to run a cafe. Even the cakes are what you would get for £10 in Costco....read more"

"I was really looking forward to visiting La Fibule with friends after reading the good reviews it had on Trip Advisor, but our experience was not what I’d hoped for. We had an early reservation, so the restaurant was empty and we were told to just sit where we wanted which was fine. When we sat down, no menus were offered. When I asked for menus, our waiter was rude. The food we ordered came fairly promptly, but the hummus I’d ordered was not seasoned and bland. In fact the Tagine I ordered for my main dish was equally bland. My friends were happier with their selections, so it might have just been bad luck on my part. After we were served our mains, our waiter seemed to disappear. We would have liked to have ordered a coffee after, but just chose to get the bill after waiting so long for our waiter to return. So, bland food and poor service mean I won’t be visiting La Fibule again."
