"the owner of this restaurant has a very good memory and has recognized us from visiting some time back (pre covid!) as always was eating excellent. we shared two appetizers (onion bhaji and beetroot corn kebabs) that were both delicious. for our main course we had chicken lamb biriani and a horseebiriani. I love prawns and these were very big and delicious. the wine list is small, but has good labels. we enjoyed our meal very much and will soon return."

"We were having a couple of nights in Birmingham and decided that we must have a curry! We googled Indian restaurants near our hotel and came across the Taj Mahal. We were not disappointed! We were there just after 18.00 so it was fairly quiet but the service was very good and the food was excellent!"

"We ordered some food from here I think 5 different curries, rice and some naan. It took over 1hr and 45 mins for it to arrive. When we rang them they said 45-60 minutes. We called them after 1hour and they said it will be 15 mins but that wasn’t true. And when the food did come one curry was spilling out of the container all in the bag. Also the food wasn’t that tasty at all. So don’t bother to order from here."

"Ok,let’s get things straight.Cockroaches don’t have to mean the place is dirty. I was here for the food on recommendation,and I was so so disappointed. The staff are welcoming however the food isn’t. I went for a salad to start,very watery and far too much lettuce. For main I had a curry and asked for it extra hot.As well as being like they’d left the tap on it(so watery)there wasn’t any kick to it at all.Considering their top end price tag I was expecting far greater quality. My advise: Avoid,look elsewhere or go to a supermarket and buy a commercial Thai dish,I’m sure it will be far far tastier. In a nutshell: Poor quality and overpriced."

"I recently visited The Loading restaurant and ordered roti with chana curry. I also tried jalebi, methi parota, and rose milk shaker. The restaurant is well-maintained and serves authentic vegetarian dishes. The samosas are freshly fried right in front of us, which is a highlight. They offer a variety of Indian sweets and snacks at a reasonable price (though could be slightly cheaper) and of good quality. I recommend giving them a try when you visit Soho Street."

"I tried the Sunday buffet, and I have to say, it was quite disappointing. The absence of properly set tables made the place feel closed down. The food was displayed in small heated servers, and the descriptions for the curries were written on star-shaped card cutouts with a felt pen, which didn't inspire much confidence. I ordered chapatis, but they never arrived. While the food itself tasted good, we couldn’t wait to leave. I would consider ordering takeaway from here to enjoy at home, as that would likely provide a much better experience. However, I wouldn't book a table to dine in again, especially when there are so many fantastic restaurants in the area with a great atmosphere. The owners need to put in more effort if they want this place to be more than just a takeaway spot."

"I ordered a few months back a spicy mince pizza. Instead, they sent me a chicken pizze I really didn't want. So I called and they said they'd give me a free pizza next time. I have explained that I am not often more out, so there is a deadline for the order. they said no. I called today to claim that there is a daily policy to get any kind of refund for food or money and that they have changed manager too, so that the mistakes do not transfer. I would give them less star if I could."

"Our booking for two people had been lost. We stood waiting whilst two seemingly inexperienced staff members argued where to seat us. We were given a table for four made up of two smaller tables. As we sat down the tables were pulled an inch apart and the waiter said he needed it for other bookings. I said fine but it needed to be further away to stop us feeling we were sharing a table. He moved it another inch. Menus arrived promptly but 15 minutes later we'd still not been asked for our drink order. We left. Had been to SF many times before but this time may well be the last."
