"The best Chinese takeaway, HANDS DOWN! My partner has never been a big fan of Chinese food, usually finding it too greasy and sickly, or too orange and padded out with carrot and onion. But I do love noodle dishes and really fancied a takeaway.. so scoured reviews of Chinese takeaways within reasonable driving distance of home.. Eventually found King Wok and tried them for the first time a few months ago. They're a 30 min drive from home.. but it's worth it!! Really delicious, fresh Chinese food that my partner now requests every few weeks. She loves the Aubergine in Hot Bean Sauce (not something I've seen on any other Chinese takeaway menu .. and the Classic Spring Rolls are the best we've ever had! We won't go anywhere else now! Be warned... they can get very busy on Friday/Saturday and there can be quite a wait for food. So order early on those days to avoid disappointment!! (Last time I tried ordering on a Saturday I called at 6:15pm and they said it would be at least 8:30pm before they would be able to have it ready as they are so busy.. they're supposed to close at 8:30pm.. that how busy they were!"

"A first visit to this establishment even though we have driven passed it many times and always said we need to give this a try. it was a Saturday, early evening and there was a good mix of clientele which made for a pleasant atmosphere. The staff were very friendly but didn 't seem to know which was our table even though it had been pre booked and how many of us would be there! The Rose Orchard serves Chinese food and traditional ales and spirits, it has a bar area with TV and a good size restaurant/seating area. As well as serving 'eat in ' they were also doing a good trade on the take away element of their business. The food arrived nice and hot and reasonably quickly however by the time it did arrive the plates were nearly cold. Unfortunately they didn 't utilise any form of heating to keep the food nice and hot so sadly by the time we got around to 'topping up ' what was on our plates the food on the dishes was cold! This was a shame because the actual food was very good, nicely seasoned and flavoursome. And plenty of it. The only thing making this a 4* review and not a 5* review was the fact the food was not kept warm. In retrospect we should maybe have asked for a food warmer as we saw one being brought out to a couple that came in and ordered after us. We will certainly revisit. If you decide to visit based on this review please be sure to request a food warmer."

"The food in this restaurant is really tasty and the portion was justified for the slightly pricey side. In my opinion, the quality and taste is better than most of the restaurant I had visited in London China town. The ambiance was pleasing and parking was easy. The downside to this restaurant is probably one or two of the waiting staff/ waiters/waitress. They are quite rude and resembles the waiters or waitress from New York China town. Being a restaurant serving some Malaysian dishes like the Kung Po chicken, and Kang kong (water spinach) balacan, I asked the waitress if they have “salted fish fried rice”, only to be rudely told that this is England and there is no such food as Salted fish Fried rice. That lady was really rude and don’t know her place. I then told her that we can get salted fish fried rice in Colindale London and even in Reindeer Cafe in Cricklewood. I often wonder why these service orientated business people ca be so naive and rude. sigh. Given the chance again if I am visiting area around Oxford, I will definitely visit this establishment, but will keep my fingers crossed on not meeting rude waitress ."

"Avoid this place!! Booked table for my daughters 12th birthday for 6 of us. Got there and was like a store room and freezing cold they had to clear table to make room coz covered in delivery bags we had to ask for heating as sat in our coats they got a portable gas heater that wouldn't worm was honestly a joke the menus had multiple prices and when it came to ordering drink they had nothing even beer pumps didn't work then told it was cash only we ended up walking out ut had no atmosphere workers dropping and banging around in the restaurant sorting stuff as it literally looked like a store room with a few tables. We booked this over a week ago and they wasn't even prepared my poor little girl had her birthday ruined and no apology or anything it was dirty and disgusting and how it's being allowed to operate as a restaurant is beyond me I will be reporting this to health and safety and local council. To not have any heating in this weather then bring in gas heaters which they admitted don't work very well and put it next to our table smelling of gas and to be told if it goes out they reheat it and to have to sit In our coats was awful it was awkward too and then to be told all we can have if coke and a fee select drinks as there pumps for beer etc don't work anymore and the coke was stored jn the corner of restaurant in bottles too it was utter disgusting so please don't waste ur time or money on this place. I just hope something is done when I report it.. thanks for ruining my little girls birthday mandarin palace!!!"

"Sanbao is my absolute comfort food restaurant. They have a smashing Ma La Xiang Guo (iykyk which I have at least once in two weeks! They also have Korean cold noodles!!!! (It's a chinese establishment but here me out, it's one of the best cold noodles I've had! Like most chinese establishments in London, service is not their forte but damn do they know how to cook up a beautiful feast! They also serve a huge variety of BBQ skewers. There's also KTV/karaoke rooms in the basement which have a low minimum spend compared to other restaurants."

"we came today about this wonderful restaurant while we were looking for a high-time location. the location is just beautiful, we ate outside as it was a beautiful day. I ordered the salmon small plate and my man ordered the Mongolian beef small plate and we shared a bowl with clobig chips. the salmon was the best I ever had, from far away, nicely light and tender and a perfect size for me. the bark was also delicious. beautiful service with very friendly staff. the price was also a surprise, for both meals and a coffee it was just about £16! we will definitely be regular, now we have found it!"

"This is 100% the very best chinese food i have ever had. I shared prawn sesame toast and salted chilli mini ribs as starters with my wife. The toast was fabulous but the ribs... wow! They were to die for! Amazing! For my main i had chicken schezuan and crispy shredded chilli beef and egg fried rice. The chicken schezuan was fantastic, the rice was wonderful but the shredded beef... i have never tasted this done so well. Any other chinese i have tried just pales compared to Choi's. The service was prompt, polite but in no way pushy. The bill was £44 for two of us which would be good anyway but for the quality of food we recieved was more than a bargain. I was so impressed i asked to meet the chef. I was taken thru to the kitchen and i thanked him and bowed with respect. Stunning! Go there... you won't regret it!"

"We met friends here for a couple of nights as it was central and also ideally located for walking into the city and site-seeing. We did the 2 night deal with money off dinner and a bottle of prosecco. The room was ok, clean and a comfy bed but very tired. The shaver point in the bathroom didn't work and we had to go into another room to shower as our shower was stuck on red hot! The disappointing part of the whole weekend was the evening meal. Over priced and just not of good quality. Mussels the size of peas and the belly of pork soggy with no crispy crackling and no apple sauce in the whole place! Overall a dreadful meal. The breakfasts were ok with a nice selection for the cooked breakfast. However it too was let down by not being topped up BEFORE it had run out so firstly I waited for the coffee machine as it had run out of beans, then there was no orange juice and then to top it all no bacon, hash browns or sausages. By the time they had been topped up the scrambled egg was stone cold on our plates. On the plus side the staff were smiley, friendly and helpful although there didn't appear to be any actual management on site. Definitely needs a total overhaul."

"The Wok Inn was not the best experience for our celebration with friends. The manager was abrasive and rude from the moment we arrived, limiting our menu options and dictating our choices. The starters were overly salted and portion sizes were smaller than expected. The main courses were average at best, with some dishes lacking flavor. The staff, however, were friendly and accommodating, especially the female wait staff. Overall, the ambience was okay, but we do not plan on returning any time soon, especially for a special occasion. The lack of customer service was disappointing, and we hope the management takes note that customers should come first."

"I dined in for dinner, and it was a delightful experience! The price per person is quite reasonable, falling between £10–20. I highly recommend trying the Gong Bao Chicken and Braised Beef, both of which were flavorful and expertly prepared. The Poutine was a comforting treat, and the Dry Fried Green Beans added a nice crunch to the meal. The Salted Egg Tofu was a standout, with its unique taste, while the Mongolian Beef was tender and juicy. If you're a fan of noodles, the Mixed Vegetables Chow Mein is a must-try. Additionally, the Aromatic Crispy Duck was crispy and incredibly satisfying. Don't miss the Char Siu Bun, which was perfectly steamed, and the Salt and Pepper Chips, which were a delicious side. For those who enjoy dumplings, the Pan-Fried Pork Dumplings (煎饺) are a tasty option. I also sampled the Sweet and Sour Chicken, which was just the right balance of flavors. The Pad Thai was another highlight, and the Peking Duck Bento was beautifully presented. For a less traditional option, the Chips were a nice addition to any meal. Overall, this restaurant offers a fantastic variety of dishes that cater to all tastes. I can't wait to return for another meal!"

"a takeaway ordered, had roasted shredded chicken, that was okay, little soggy, but the best part of the meal, 2 portions of tasteless boiled rice. lemon huhn, that is the worst thing I ever had, I'm sure that the was boiled and it was. only wedge between cut lemons. in it saturated, so nothing could taste, except butter lemon juice, crispy bark was the last straw, no taste, not crispy at all. the large part of the bark was fat and disgusting. during a time in which many places are closed, this could have been a perfect time to win customers, unfortunately the opposite for me and my family, who are very pleased with their competitive reopening."

"Considering how many there are in the town, we weren't sure what to expect.Firstly they can cook rice. Sounds obvious, but some don't seem capable of this.Chicken in black bean and green peppers were good and liked the salt and pepper chips. Got some free prawn crackers too."

"We have been loyal customers of this restaurant for many years, but sadly our last visit was disappointing due to the new management. The spare ribs had meat on only half of the bone, the seaweed was overly salted, the smoked chicken tasted like fudge due to being covered in sugar, and the wontons were smaller than before. The chow mein and noodles were extremely dry as well. When ordering delivery, they give a vague time frame of 'half an hour before or half an hour later' than the requested time, which is frustrating. The restaurant no longer offers a 20% NHS discount and feedback on their Facebook page yielded no response. One positive note is that the delivery drivers are always polite, especially a young lad who helped his dad deliver our order and wished us to enjoy our food."

"Been using Michaels now for the past 3 years and normally order once a week. There are 3 Chinese takeaways in this area and Michaels is marginally better than the other two. Be prepared to hit the redial button when you phone as it’s often busy (our record is 81 times) before giving up. Staff in the shop are pretty friendly however different kettle of fish when rating the delivery driver woman. We’ve maybe had deliveries 3 or 4 times in the 3 years (last night she even moaned about where our house was, she said she had a big car, it was hard for her to get out and asked if we could tell the shop the next time we order a delivery). Now, maybe I was having a bad night (just come out of a 6 night stay in hospital) but found the comment unacceptable. When I closed the door I realised how cheeky her comments were.Like I say, the food is the best between the 3(only just) but after last nights escapade I will be trying the 2nd one from now on."
