"The food in this restaurant is really tasty and the portion was justified for the slightly pricey side. In my opinion, the quality and taste is better than most of the restaurant I had visited in London China town. The ambiance was pleasing and parking was easy. The downside to this restaurant is probably one or two of the waiting staff/ waiters/waitress. They are quite rude and resembles the waiters or waitress from New York China town. Being a restaurant serving some Malaysian dishes like the Kung Po chicken, and Kang kong (water spinach) balacan, I asked the waitress if they have “salted fish fried rice”, only to be rudely told that this is England and there is no such food as Salted fish Fried rice. That lady was really rude and don’t know her place. I then told her that we can get salted fish fried rice in Colindale London and even in Reindeer Cafe in Cricklewood. I often wonder why these service orientated business people ca be so naive and rude. sigh. Given the chance again if I am visiting area around Oxford, I will definitely visit this establishment, but will keep my fingers crossed on not meeting rude waitress ."

"The restaurant is located in a beautiful setting in the heart of Ramson Woods. I came here to remember my father, who passed away here a few years ago and whose ashes are scattered on the grounds - he spent much of his working life keeping the woods clean. After our visit, my mother and I went to Ramson Restaurant and enjoyed a nice cup of hot chocolate to warm ourselves. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Although we didn't have time for a meal, we did take a look at the menu and found the prices to be reasonable. We will definitely be coming back."

"Had a really lovely experience at this venue on a Saturday afternoon. We enjoyed a trip down the river punting (third party Salisbury punting excellent) and then the restaurant made us a mixture of picnic baskets and afternoon teas outside in the sunshine. I was especially impressed with the picnic baskets. £15 per person, for a huge selection of items (we paid for 3 picnics and had many more than 1 item pp). Impressively everything was home made and utterly delicious sausage rolls, quiche, scotch eggs, cheese and biscuits, salad, coleslaw, drum sticks and the most delicious roast beef and horseradish sandwiches I've ever had. There was more than enough per person. The avo tea was £15 per head, reasonable quantity for the price. (Actually far better than being forced to pay £30pp and having more than you could ever eat). The cakes were delicious, simple lemon cake was the best I've ever tasted. Good service. Really pretty location. We had a really lovely afternoon in the sun. Thank you. Highly recommended."

"This is 100% the very best chinese food i have ever had. I shared prawn sesame toast and salted chilli mini ribs as starters with my wife. The toast was fabulous but the ribs... wow! They were to die for! Amazing! For my main i had chicken schezuan and crispy shredded chilli beef and egg fried rice. The chicken schezuan was fantastic, the rice was wonderful but the shredded beef... i have never tasted this done so well. Any other chinese i have tried just pales compared to Choi's. The service was prompt, polite but in no way pushy. The bill was £44 for two of us which would be good anyway but for the quality of food we recieved was more than a bargain. I was so impressed i asked to meet the chef. I was taken thru to the kitchen and i thanked him and bowed with respect. Stunning! Go there... you won't regret it!"

"Friendly welcome when we arrived, had booked a table earlier in the day and we got greeted by name. Waitress recommended we had the sharing platter as a starter rather than ordering a couple of dishes and was so glad we took the recommendation. Huge platter of a bit of everything off the starter menu, who knew battered green beans would taste so lovely, apologies to hubby as he didn’t get to taste them. Now, I’m not a big eater so after the size of the starter I asked if I could just have a half bowl of the soup and it was no problem, very accommodating as large plates/bowls put me off. Main meals, sweet and sour chicken and Thai chicken curry with rice. Both dishes piping hot and had obviously been cooked fresh. Oh and the house wine was very nice too. It local and so glad we took the recommendation from two different taxi drivers and the hotel of going here. If back in the area we wouldn’t hesitate to come back. Thank you for a lovely evening."

"I dined in for dinner, and it was a delightful experience! The price per person is quite reasonable, falling between £10–20. I highly recommend trying the Gong Bao Chicken and Braised Beef, both of which were flavorful and expertly prepared. The Poutine was a comforting treat, and the Dry Fried Green Beans added a nice crunch to the meal. The Salted Egg Tofu was a standout, with its unique taste, while the Mongolian Beef was tender and juicy. If you're a fan of noodles, the Mixed Vegetables Chow Mein is a must-try. Additionally, the Aromatic Crispy Duck was crispy and incredibly satisfying. Don't miss the Char Siu Bun, which was perfectly steamed, and the Salt and Pepper Chips, which were a delicious side. For those who enjoy dumplings, the Pan-Fried Pork Dumplings (煎饺) are a tasty option. I also sampled the Sweet and Sour Chicken, which was just the right balance of flavors. The Pad Thai was another highlight, and the Peking Duck Bento was beautifully presented. For a less traditional option, the Chips were a nice addition to any meal. Overall, this restaurant offers a fantastic variety of dishes that cater to all tastes. I can't wait to return for another meal!"

"I have tried many Chinese take aways and restaurants in the UK the US. This one is probably these best I have been too. I can only complain about getting through on the phone as they have just one line and you can't get through. But the food is worth the hassle. Its clean, and always well cooked and tasty. Nothing compares, Whitehaven is very lucky to have this place."

"We used to frequently order from this Chinese restaurant for takeout, but we stopped in February 2023 when their prices went up. We decided to give it another chance last night (November 2023) but were disappointed to find that the quality had declined. My rice dish had very little meat in it, and what meat it did have was in tiny chunks. It tasted quite bland as well. The Foo Yung dish was lacking in ingredients and mostly just consisted of eggs. My wife's curry was more like a soup, and the chicken in it was just okay, not like the stringy chicken pieces it used to have. We will be sticking to China Chef from now on. Despite their recent price hikes, they are still cheaper than Asian Box, saving us around £200 a year."

"Got a delivery last night from here. Genuinely one of the worst. Good points the fried rice was fresh the plain chow mein was fresh nice too. Bad points Breast Sliced Chicken Curry , it wasn’t breast sliced I got a chicken bone in my curry. The curry sauce wasn’t nice Salt and chilli chips were one of the most basic worst I’ve had from a Chinese takeaway, I’ve saw Scottish cafes have better attempts. Wouldn’t recommend and most definitely wouldn’t return. A thin bone in a Breast chicken curry how is that even possible?"
