"original ordered from peony garden a few doors down (especially how peony offer a 'big' fried rice portion option that is good for me, as I tend only the and some curry sauce for my meal). order was accepted by peony, who then wait 15 minutes to cancel the order, and we 'll get a refund in 3 5 days apparently. charming. no explanation/apology. So we have ordered from here. 15 minutes later, it was eating here. eating is nice, the fried rice tonight was the best thing I had just wished to make a larger size option available, please. just what I'm not sharp on is the new recipe for the salt pfeffer huhn, seems to be cooked in a soak that I can't stand the taste of now. will be back!"

I would have given 5stars, but the salt and chili puwns are not worth the money for 8 prawn's sad joy, although I eat from the joy of the meal and normally really good, but the shipping costs now 2.80 for straight on the road. View menu

Onions as part of the main and side dishes were cut into huge chunks and were almost raw. Horrible to eat. Vegetarian options: Awful vegetarian side dishes, fried mushrooms were 60% raw onion chopped into massive chunks. Spring rolls were not vegetarian. Service: Delivery Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £10–20

To be honest I'm really really surprise to find such a bad reviews. This is probably the best Chinese I ever had In here and even Edinburgh. I have order at least 20 times from this place the last two years that I have lived here and never, NEVER I been disappointed of something but anyway there's likes of likes I guess. View menu

Very disappointed tonight. I ordered lemon chicken which I've had a few times. Couldn't eat it the sauce was disgusting it was so bitter and tart. The piece of lemon on top was easier to eat. Sorry but this has put me off for a while. Waste of money Service: Delivery Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £10–20 Food: 1 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3

I often have a chinese of the new joy. it was never disappointed. the meals are delicious my cats are often treated with the chicken. staff and drivers are very helpful. I'm sometimes limited to getting out. the drivers sometimes go shopping for me. if I had friends about his always under the condition that she had a chinese. I have crispy beef and rice with chili sauce ten out of ten. the best in midlothian.

"I am sitting in my room at the sun inn as I am writing. It's a Sunday. I checked in at 8 15. The one young employee who was in the building was professional but informed me on arrival that the kitchen had closed. Bummer but it is a Sunday. Upon asking when the bar would close he told me 10pm. I decided to go to the shops and buy some cold sausage rolls and a bottle of wine to mitigate the early closing and grabbed a quick single beer in Dalkeith in a bar that closed at 11. My intention was to pay more for somewhere I could have several drinks without driving but I tried to make the best of my origional plan. I got back to the sun inn at 930 to find not a solitary light on and figured I'll watch some TV instead. Only the TV didn't work. I dismounted it after trying to configure settings on the 2 controls. The sky box was not connected sinse it was a flat wall mount and there was only a single accecible hdmi port, out of three, that could be used. That was already oucupied by the fire stick. Now it is sitting on the dresser since it cannot be remounted with both availible devices connected. 40 minutes of fooking around and nothing has changed. The bar is closed. No night porter, no TV, no breakfast and a broken bathtub. All the reasons I paid the extra to come here instead of the cheaper airport option have be removed. The room is nice though. It's as good as an airport one minus the stains on the headboard of the bed."

"Having successfully completed a major project I took my team out as a small thank you. There were 5 of us and we arrived around 1030h for breakfast. We were greeted by the very .lovely Amy, who promptly seated us. She was polite, friendly and attentive. She took our drinks orders, then our breakfasts. We all opetd for the full Scottish at under a tenner each. The meal was fabulous, well cooked, piping hot and presented on high quality flatware with good cutlery. The sausages had a delicious crisp outer, the bacon was well done but not hard, the mushrooms were served in a wee bowl with chilli oil. The eggs were perfect, accompanied by a slice of chunky bread, haggis and black pudding. Beans finished it off brilliantly. The teapot was quirky and delightful. Alison, the owner was not only beautiful but very charming with it. She was involved in the serving of our meals and chatted to us as she served us, making us feel more than welcome. Five breakfasts with assorted lattes, cappuccinos and teas was under £70 so very reasonably priced too. I left a well deserved tip and Alison kindly let me know that the full tip always went to the serving staff, so very ethical too. My colleagues were all as suitably impressed as I was. I cannot recommend this place highly enough and the only shame is that my time in Bonnyrigg is over, and I dearly wished I'd found The Beetroot sooner."
