"Food is delicious and exactly what you'd hope from the description. Wait staff were very good with two children aged 2 and under. They also have colouring pencils and kids menu, with a competition on the back to win a £30 voucher each month. **Dine-in Experience** **Meal Type:** Lunch **Price Range per Person:** £20–30 **Food Rating:** 3/5 **Service Rating:** 3/5 **Atmosphere Rating:** 4/5 Overall, I enjoyed my lunch at the restaurant. The food was decent but not particularly remarkable, so I’d give it a 3 out of 5. The service was also average, providing what I needed without any standout moments. However, the atmosphere was quite pleasant, earning a solid 4 out of 5. It made for a nice setting to enjoy my meal. View menu

This was the first time my friend and I had visited Luci’s and it won’t be the last. I would definitely recommend, not only the aesthetically pleasing surroundings (super clean all amenities), the relaxed, chilled atmosphere and the wonderful food and drinks. The very friendly services was the icing on the cake. Especially Chloe who made our night, she took great care of us and is a wonderful asset to Luci’s. If you’ve not been yet then go. Highly recommend. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I was very disappointed. A few weeks ago, I visited with my girlfriend, and I couldn't stop raving about the menu and the incredible meal I had. I even mentioned that it was one of the best meals I've had in a long time. However, tonight was a letdown as I discovered that the menu had changed. My girlfriend had been looking forward to her birthday dinner here for weeks, but she was extremely disappointed by the bland new options and the limited choices compared to before. It truly ruined her birthday, and now she's in tears.

"I am sitting in my room at the sun inn as I am writing. It's a Sunday. I checked in at 8 15. The one young employee who was in the building was professional but informed me on arrival that the kitchen had closed. Bummer but it is a Sunday. Upon asking when the bar would close he told me 10pm. I decided to go to the shops and buy some cold sausage rolls and a bottle of wine to mitigate the early closing and grabbed a quick single beer in Dalkeith in a bar that closed at 11. My intention was to pay more for somewhere I could have several drinks without driving but I tried to make the best of my origional plan. I got back to the sun inn at 930 to find not a solitary light on and figured I'll watch some TV instead. Only the TV didn't work. I dismounted it after trying to configure settings on the 2 controls. The sky box was not connected sinse it was a flat wall mount and there was only a single accecible hdmi port, out of three, that could be used. That was already oucupied by the fire stick. Now it is sitting on the dresser since it cannot be remounted with both availible devices connected. 40 minutes of fooking around and nothing has changed. The bar is closed. No night porter, no TV, no breakfast and a broken bathtub. All the reasons I paid the extra to come here instead of the cheaper airport option have be removed. The room is nice though. It's as good as an airport one minus the stains on the headboard of the bed."

"Having successfully completed a major project I took my team out as a small thank you. There were 5 of us and we arrived around 1030h for breakfast. We were greeted by the very .lovely Amy, who promptly seated us. She was polite, friendly and attentive. She took our drinks orders, then our breakfasts. We all opetd for the full Scottish at under a tenner each. The meal was fabulous, well cooked, piping hot and presented on high quality flatware with good cutlery. The sausages had a delicious crisp outer, the bacon was well done but not hard, the mushrooms were served in a wee bowl with chilli oil. The eggs were perfect, accompanied by a slice of chunky bread, haggis and black pudding. Beans finished it off brilliantly. The teapot was quirky and delightful. Alison, the owner was not only beautiful but very charming with it. She was involved in the serving of our meals and chatted to us as she served us, making us feel more than welcome. Five breakfasts with assorted lattes, cappuccinos and teas was under £70 so very reasonably priced too. I left a well deserved tip and Alison kindly let me know that the full tip always went to the serving staff, so very ethical too. My colleagues were all as suitably impressed as I was. I cannot recommend this place highly enough and the only shame is that my time in Bonnyrigg is over, and I dearly wished I'd found The Beetroot sooner."
