"the waitress was helpless – not trained about what is on the menu, not attentive, brought us plates and best for us to put them themselves, with water, etc. eating was overcooked. airline foods taste better. the hostess was cheerful and friendly, but had a little difficulty to locate my reservation (later found out, open table reservations are written manually on a separate sheet paper). the view of the bridge in the night is fantastic, but this is the only good thing the restaurant has to offer. very sad."

"we've been coming to leifick for many years. it is a special place for us where we stayed after our high time. we have waited 3 years to visit kovid again and were really looking forward to them, it just didn't feel as friendly as before. we booked well in advance and requested a window table, this was not arranged. the person who served us (potentially the wut) seemed completely free, not very warm and chatting made us feel a little disappointed. After we drove all the way out of london, we were sad that this was our first negative experience in over 10 years. the eating was nice and they will never be able to mistake this breathtaking view. hopes for a warm welcome at the next visit!"

"We arrived at the restaurant in time for our 6.45 pm slot to be told that our table was not ready and would we mind waiting in the bar. We were provided with drinks and a menu which was acceptable. Twenty minutes later we were taken to our table which in fairness had lovely views over the bay. After 10 minutes (and now 30 minutes from arrival) we still had not been approached by any staff to either provide more menus or take our order. Eventually we had to ask a member of staff to take our order. Starters arrived in a timely manner and my soup was very tasty. We then had to wait a long time for our main course which in my case consisted of sweet potato fries that were frozen fries that had been over cooked and a vegetable burger that was at best average. One member of the group had fish and chips and another steak which were both ok. One of the senior staff took 3 of our plates then got distracted did something else and left one plate on the table. We did not have desert as no one came to ask if we would like them and we asked to pay the bill and left. Overall some of the food choices were acceptable but the service spoilt the meal and you could see other people in the restaurant feeling the same as our party."

"We revisited tonight as had a lovely meal last week!! It was like walking into a completely different pub. Service was beyond slow, and when provided with menus advised that they were sorry, but, there was a lack of items!! We ordered drinks first, 20mins and watched them sat on bar for 10 of those, in the end had to ask the young girl who was stood doing nothin, could we perhaps have them to drink, rather than just look at them. We then asked if we could order and she advised she wasn't doing the ordering so had to wait for the young man to arrive. When he did we checked about the lobster as was having our last meal of our holidays and he had previously advised what wasn't in the menu. Advised yes, they had this 20mins after ordering was advised that actually, they didn't have it and something similar they could offer was a monkfish...... (no words to that really). Left us with the menu again and just kept walking past us despite trying to get his attention so we could reorder the missing lobster meal. He just kept sodding about on his iPad thingy and ticking of the tables. During this time also, a gentlemen walked up to the bar to say he was extremely concerned about his groups meal as it was now over an hour since they ordered and no starters had even been served. He proceeded to cancel his starters as they were fed up with the ridiculous delay and lack of any service. With that, we echoed his sentiments and advised we were actually leaving as not prepared hand over our well earned money to an establishment who had got it completely wrong tonight and they weren't even busy. In fact I'd say they weren't even a quarter full. Menu is very expensive and although the food we ate last week was good, it wasn't fantastic. But the 3 ladies who served us were really lovely which was why we had decided to revisit tonight on our last night. Big mistake on our part and extremely disappointing for us as ruined our last evening."

"we are regular visitors of Manning’s. this special lunch was the worst. in the coming the bar appeared closed, but this was not a lighter, so dark and without an atmosphere. a very quiet lunch time with only 4 other tables booked. a completely changed dining room staff has made his job. the new head, daniel. was very good, but the service was not supported by eating. the salat with the appetizers did not seem fresh, proportions were small. although plentiful and tasty duck terrarine there were only 3 small finger size toast with it. the net again not up to the usual standard,rice was probably microwaved and the normally excellent steak-sizzler was just smashed in stylton. the restaurant is from a favorite to a maybe never again! what has changed, new administration, new cook, new property?"

"I have eaten here a few years ago and it was nice however this mornings breakfast was really disappointing. There is one breakfast option which was good and alternative milk. There’s 1 main meal option and I think also a pizza. There was barely any food on the plate and took over 45 mins for the food (there were maybe 6 or 7 tables in and 3 waitresses). They had also not had their shipment hence the poor portion size, a few things were also missing off our plate. I think this would’ve been better IF we were told but we weren’t unfortunately. "We visited today, after previously visiting before, I have to say I was a little disappointed that the menu was majority fish especially with the starters Im not a big fish eater! There was very little option for non fish lovers as a starter except gazpacho soup. Before we even were seated we were kept waiting for 10 minutes to be sat down as a table was making 4 different payments in front of us. When we did eventually sit down the table was incredibly sticky, and despite being asked to be cleaned it needed a deeper clean than that. Food was fairly good, bit disappointed with the chicken burger and the roast the staff were helpful though. You could definitely tell they were short staffed."

"Positive surprise must say. Not a big fan of eating in the Covent Garden area, simply because most of places are overpriced and for tourists, but must confess that was so impressed with Le Garrick !!!! "Came for my 21st birthday with my mom and dad who were visiting from Birmingham. I ordered the oysters and champagne (amazing and the baked seabass (delicious! . The food was so good, my parents had the chicken in mushroom sauce and said it was the best chicken they'd ever had! We also recieved amazing service from Marco, who was friendly and attentive, making my night feel extra special! He even lit the candles on my birthday profiteroles! I will definitely be coming back."

"Had a delicious dinner with fabulous friends in the Hyndland Fox no doubt made all the more rosy by bottles and bottles of spot on house red.... late last year and have since been back for a brilliant brunch I 'd promise 'no more cheesy alliterations ', but that would be a lie . It 's such a lovely, bright space and on both occasions we found the staff to be absolute dolls. We dined on the Mezzanine both times... the overhead beams and charming interiors really are a triumph. What I 'm most proud of is coercing my brunch muching companions into taking photos of each of their dishes, to be put away for a momentous occasion... such as the drafting of this review. While they each hated me at the time, I hope you dear reader will love me for it. I had the Salt Beef Hash £6.95 which from the moment the words left my lips to place the order... I was having taste bud driven heart palpitations over. It was super tasty but the portion was quite small. And I honestly don 't think that was just my big bum talking I hope!? . I felt like my meal was over in fewer forkfuls while everyone else was eating on in blissful brunchy heaven. My pals had the Hot Smoked Salmon £7.95 and the Smoked Black Forest Ham £7.45 and my wonderful wife had the Cooked Brekky £8.95 . While part of me was delighted to see her savouring every mouthful, the less lovely and therefore much larger part of me secretly hoped she 'd offer to trade... She didn 't. All in all, love the Fox and we will be back! Just for my regular puppy loving intel unfortunately the venue does not accept dogs... only... err... foxes."

"We arrived for our 12.30 booking at 12.00, this was obviously frowned upon, we asked if we could stay and wait which they unhappily agreed. We were taken to our table at 12.30, a few minutes later we were given the drinks menu, we asked if there was a different menu for the two course meal deal, they said “no not really just order off the main menu” and they handed over the food menus. We received our drinks and announced that we we’re ready to place our order. 3 x fish and chips and 1 x burger and chips, we thought they had gone fishing as this took so long to get to the table. It arrived….. the fish was delicious, very white and flaky, the chips were bad, under cooked and as for the mushy peas, I have never had garden peas mashed before, disgusting. We ordered desserts which eventually arrived but without cutlery. We asked for some cutlery and again waited 7 minutes for a spoon to arrive. We asked again for the bill, it didn’t arrive, we then asked another two members of staff for the bill, when we received the bill we had been charged full price for the meal deals, we challenged this and they said at the point of actually giving our food choices we should have said two of the orders were meal deals. We refused to pay the service charge as we have never received such bad service, in the mean time throughout our lunch time experience staff were continuously moving tables and chairs all around us. Needless to say we will never return to this chain of restaurant again."

"Lovely restaurant and staff. There was 3 of us that went to this restaurant after not long getting off the train on the way to our hotel and we needed something to eat and came across this gem. We had Calamari and Soup for starters which were all lovely and then for mains we all had steak and 2 of us upgraded to a sirloin. The steaks were cooked to perfection and were seasoned perfectly. The staff were very attentive and were great hosts especially Nick I think the gentleman was called (he was there temporary as he was going down to their other restaurant in Cardiff Bay)."

"I was disappointed to find that the hotel had no record of my booking for a birthday tea, and the service was lacking. The tablecloth was dirty, and the afternoon tea was not priced as stated on the website. When I brought this to the attention of the staff, they seemed indifferent and I had to insist on speaking with a manager. I requested that the original price be honored, but this was not offered. "What a delight! First time to this branch. I travel a lot and often have to dine solo which I don't mind. Some restaurants single you out but Côte Brasserie are very welcoming to all guests. Despite how busy they were on a Saturday evening, I was warmly greeted upon arriving, seated at a nice table and had excellent service throughout. Staff were attentive, yet left guests to dine in peace and enjoy their meal. I am a big fan of customer service. I have just come back from Japan where service is outstanding. I always find in the UK, we are one of the worse for service. However, Côte Brasserie is starting to make me have faith again. Well done! Great menu of French classics but there are other options too including steaks and salads. Hearty but good food. Calories and nutritional information are displayed on the menu which is helpful. I had the vegan Côte burger which came with frites. Freshly made, well presented and delicious. Messy to eat but so good. My Saturday treat! I actually felt shy when I fully cleaned up my plate but I was hungry and was looking forward to a burger. It delivered. I had a still water to drink so I was a bit healthy! Lovely branch with mainly indoor seating, plus a few tables outside. Lovely ambience and nice views too. They are busy given location so book a table. A lot of people were turned away or had to come back. Clean. Dessert looked good but I was stuffed. What Côte have also done well is not put up prices too much, especially in comparison to competitors. Very reasonably priced. Highly recommend."

"After dining at this restaurant multiple times, I made a reservation for dinner with three friends and was extremely let down by the decline in quality. The cocktails lacked flavor, the wine was tasteless, and all the food was overly salty. The lemon sole was overcooked, the butter sauce tasted burnt instead of nutty. The aubergine main dish was small and lacked flavor, more suitable as a starter. The halloumi main was bland and the sole goujons were lukewarm at best. The dessert, rhubarb frangipane, tasted like a subpar Bakewell tart with minimal rhubarb, and the Balthazar coupe was overly sweet. At a price of £270, this meal was far too expensive for the subpar quality. I am unsure if there has been a change in management at this restaurant, but I was truly disappointed and embarrassed to have recommended it to my friends. I will not be returning or suggesting this restaurant to others in the future."

"Food is lovely flavour is good, ingredients are very good quality and they are cooked perfectly. It generally feels very good to eat. I have eaten quite a bit here and all of the dishes have impressed me. The only issue, that really quite shocked me, was that my pear and almond dessert came with the wrong sauce. I asked the staff sorry if I 'm wrong, shouldn 't this be a berry coulis? and she replied that they 'd run out so had replaced with chocolate sauce. I thought that 's a bit cheeky. It taste lovely with the berry coulis suits it perfectly but this chocolate sauce (albeit very nice on its own) taste nasty with this dessert. Had I known, I would have changed my order. I wish they 'd told me rather than sending it out with whatever they could find. That really was quite cheeky."
