"I booked originally for 6pm and had to change to 6:30pm due to traffic. I hadn’t confirmed The new booking so the host could not find a booking for us. It was my father’s birthday and I was really worried I had messed it up. The host, was fine and was still able to get us seated, we were very pleased with that. We were given a choice of tables, and as a larger guest, I was able to be seated comfortably. We’re we’re served by Tom. S ,for the evening. OMG! What a charming and delightful waiter. He was attentive, had great banter and held a wonderful conversation, wished my father a happy birthday, and tended to my wine being filled up all evening. He made us feel wonderful, and made me feel like a million dollars. The food was absolutely superb, French onion soup was perfectly seasoned, the croutons were Devine along with a salty cheese. Loaded with sweet onions: The liver parfait my husband had was delicious he said. My dad and husband had the beef bourguignon, and I had the chicken, gratin with a side of dauphinois potatoes… Again… absolutely perfect. The service here was top notch, and Tom.S made our first experience at Côte the best. He is a first class waiter, that I would compare to the the likes of The Ritz and The Savoy. Fantastic personality, and very well groomed and presented. What a fabulous and marvellous team member you have there. Cherish that! We will definitely return, and recommend this restaurant highly. 5 Service from Tom.S and the chef."

"Monday 27th March. Wanted a nice meal before the theatre and Chose Cote Brasserie. On entering the welcome was kirt and shown to the table. We sat reading menu for some time , had decided and still waited for any interaction from staff. As time was ebbing away I called a member of staff and ordered both drinks and our meal. Drinks came and eventually the starters. Mushrooms on soggy toast. We ate and waited. Other diners who roughly ordered the same time as us were into their mains by this time. We waited until others had finished before I called a member of staff to explain why our food was taking so long, he promptly arrived with our food with no explanation just 2 plates of overcooked and very dry French cottage pie. Our drinks were at this time empty, no staff returned to ask if we wanted more or importantly was everything ok and would we like and condiments. We were loathed to complain as this would have upset our ongoing engagement, but couldn't help noticing staff were asking other diners if they wanted more drinks, and the couple next to us were asked if everything was ok could they leave a review. The staff knew their errors but moreso they knew the food was substandard which is why they avoided us. We grabbed a flying member of staff, ordered the bill paid and left. Dreadful experience."

"This was a lockdown dinner with reduced tables inside and all of the staff wearing masks. Social distancing was excellent. We took some options from the specials menu which were fine but not amazing. We also ordered a bottle of Fleurie which was really sharp (but not off). I mentioned it to the waitress after a couple of sips. They were happy for us to change the bottle of wine to a different one. Technically they didn't need to do it so that was impressive. Overall a good experience"

"we have my wife's birthday. first, the service in this restaurant is always fantastic. we go every year. I had a grilled sea roast and it was absolutely delicious. really beautiful balance of aromen (although it didn't need the tapenade, as beautiful as it was). we believe that this last visit was on the big one and that the muddles were not their usual plump greek, so this time I gave a 4* for eating. Calamari-Starter is always my target and it hasn't disappointed me. my daughter had a filet steak and she said it was delicious big visit, it was worth it for the service alone"

"The place has went up dramatically, in my estimation, since pre-pandemic, to the re-opening in April. Much better staff and management, and more efficient in general. Beer garden is much nicer than before, enclosed with a lovely decor. Food is very good and well priced too. Paddy and Donnie are very helpful and friendly. Keep up the good work!"

"So very disappointing. Hadn’t been here for several months and took a friend for lunch as it used to be pretty good. We ordered crab rolls in tempura which turned out to be king prawns in batter accompanied by bottled soy sauce. The bread (at£2.50) was a white sliced loaf from a local shop or bakery and the wine was overpriced. Whilst the service was efficient and friendly, the rip off London prices for below average bistro food were disappointing. 18 months ago this was one of my favourite dots that showed promise of becoming a regional contender. Now it’s an overpriced tourist trap with below average food. Very disappointing."

"the service was incredibly slow not the fault of the staff, but there were not enough people on duty penny penny pinching by the administration that I suspect. the food was in order, but not deserved the price. the whole nice room had been hired to a private party so that table and ambiente were not nice. all in all, quite badly worth and not pleasant. the staff was very friendly, so I stress that it wasn't her fault."

"you need to remember that this place is a chain and therefore many of the dishes will be produced at other place massiw, some chains dress that good, some would not and would not suggest côte. the quid was beautiful, nothing more than nice, the duck was again beautiful, but certainly strongly spiced. I had dessert a chocolate lover and it was the court that deliberately abandoned the “prepared off-site”. it came within a few minutes of ordering, it would simply be thrilled to warm up just because it is not possible to cook a fondant in this time. decor is pleasant and service was good. would I come back? probably not, but that was said it was pleasant."

"Before anything the tables are greedily close together so it’s like you’re sat next to the table next to you. They’re also tiny. We couldn’t have a starter and a drink. Even the person who hosted us commented that the tables are small (we hadn’t said a thing) and they worked there. The food: my mum had a chicken dish and I had a vegan burger. The food came up and my burger and chips were cold. So I asked them to please be reheated. They returned cold. Before I’d stated it wasn’t the most appealing looking dish but by now plenty of time had passed and I’d lost my appetite so I sent it back. We realised that the kitchen is a weather spoons style submarine ride down a narrow flight of stairs and the people bringing the food have to wait for the people using the bathrooms to pass. Which was why my food likely got cold (my mum’s didn’t). Now the staff did waive my meal (rightly so) and our drinks (2 teas) and did offer to make something else, but I was so put off. That was decent. However they kept saying “we have a large party in tonight” and blaming it on that. If a large party books a private room in a restaurant, the restaurant know plenty of time in advance. This isn’t an acceptable reason for cold and unappealing food. Poor, wouldn’t recommend nor will I use a Cote again."

"he personal was beautiful and has included our needs. we came into a large group and they could put us and do this with a smile. my only chewing gum would be the odd proportion of yogurt on granola (even tee spoon yogurt on all pieces of granola). Of course, it was dry although my friend did not have the mut to ask me so that it is really on her.Worth a visit and quite charming I would say."

"we went to silvester to cote and loved it. they had a set menu with a glass bubbly. eating was really good. small nibbles and starters were very nice. we fought to find a bottle of wine and the waitress was nice with us let us taste different wee before we left down on a bottle. very patient. we have paid a bit extra for filet steak and so glad that we did as it was great. delicious. dessert was also included and I had a very generous cheese board for 1. really good quality. my partner had the crème caramel who was very nice. we're coming back!"

"The atmosphere was amazing. The jazz was fabulous and made the evening. We ordered our food and within less than five minutes it was delivered to our table. I would assume it was microwaved. It tasted okay but was nothing special. We ordered tart Tarim for pudding And it looked like microwaved slop on a plate. Albeit it tasted okay presentation was not good. "The staff in this restaurant are outstanding. They always go above and beyond without being intrusive. Even the guy who brings out the food from the kitchen stood in a very professional way with one arm behind his back and the other balancing the tray of food but he still managed to greet and acknowledge us when we came in and left. My elderly husband tends to mumble, so through no fault of their own they have him the wrong dessert. Everyone was so apologetic and offered us free coffee which we declined so they gave us two free kir royals instead which was most welcome. Excellent training- the staff here could certainly teach other establishments a thing or two about catering, as the food is delicious and well presented, and how to treat customers."

"went for a meal last night and was pleased to be able to choose from a selection of vegan starters, main and desserts! I had mushroom bruschetta that made these really delicious little mushrooms, I really enjoyed it, followed by jerk sweet potato curry, and finished with a sticky pear pudding and vegan ice cream. it was so nice to choose from a selection at each part of the menu, instead of just a token vegan option, and with a real ' pudding was nice! for the service and eating that I would have received, I would have forgiven 5 stars, although I guess happy cow 5 stars only keeps for fully vegan / vegetarian places, so it is a well deserved 4 stars."

"My reservation wasn’t there when I arrived but the manager did give us a table as I managed to produce my Opentable booking confirmation email. The restaurant was very busy at lunch time so it was rather packed. And we waited a long time for our food. The quality of the dishes the standard you would expect for the price reasonably good. Although I was a little bit disappointed with the beef bourguignon. The beef was tender and mash done well but it was let down by the jus, which was lack of depth and flavorful, it tasted a bit water down. My companion’s dish was lukewarm. However we had a very lovely waitress attending our table. So the overall experience was pleasant. I shall go back there for dinner and try other dishes"

"I ordered a hamburger medium rare. It came well done. I pointed it out to the waiter who claimed We can 't make it medium rare . said Why didn 't you tell me when I placed the order Waiter replied. It says so on the menu . I asked to see the menu. There was no such statement on the menu. I asked to see the manager. He said I 'm the manager . I was not offered a replacement or refund even though I had taken only one bite. The staff treat the customers like they are idiots. My daughter 's fish stew was the only redeeming feature."
