"We had a very wonderful experience there. The staff was welcoming and nice. It wasn’t busy at the time since we had an early dinner so we really had a pleasant experience. The ambience was perfection! The food tasted really good but my daughter’s cheese pasta was quite bland. The french onion was so good. You dont have to go underground to use the toilet. I will definitely be coming back for more french food!"

"SO disappointing! When we arrived and said we had a table booked, the table was just pointed out to us. We sat down, but no one brought menus or took a drinks order. After at least 20 minutes one of our party queued at the bar, and when it was his turn to be served was told to sit down and someone would come over. Another 15 minutes went past, then my husband stopped a waitress and asked if we could order drinks. He was told very brusquely that someone would come soon. At this point we would have had our drinks if he'd been allowed to order at the bar, but no, another 15 minute wait. Another waitress spotted that we didn't have menus, so finally brought us some. We had booked a table for 6pm as we had young children with us, but it took so long to order food and drinks, we were there much later than planned. I chose sea bream and saute potatoes, but received sea bream and boiled new potatoes, and when I questioned it, someone eventually came back and said they were saute potatoes (like none I've ever seen or would want I left them). I know it was the time of year, but the place was taken over by huge Christmas parties, which was never mentioned when we booked. Our table was in the bar, so we were surrounded by people standing and drinking, and the noise level was unbearable. When I booked, I said it was for a special birthday, and my son even brought a table decoration with us, so it was obvious what we were celebrating, but no one said a thing about it or tried to make our experience special. We felt like an inconvenience, as obviously they only cared about the Christmas parties. Sadly, this is not my first visit to the Falcon Hotel, but it will be my last, especially as having eaten at another restaurant in Bude the night before where the food was superb and we were treated very well. I know where I will eat in the future."

"I went here with my husband for a Saturday lunch on a 5pm big deal. I can't fault the place, it was delicious and I was a bit greedy and went for a third course. I had a prawn starter still in the shells), sea bass for main and a lovely apple and blackberry crumble with custard for dessert. Sometimes I think when you are on a deal you don't get the same service as other customers but this was definitely not the case here. The service was great as was the standard and choice of food. It was not a special menu for the deal but was one that you can get just walking in with no booking, great choice. The deal included a classic cocktail, again good choice and was pleased with the quality of the cocktail. The restaurant was quite quiet but still had a good atmosphere, wouldn't put me off going back at the same time. We went in to the bar after lunch for another drink. I will definitely be back for food and would even just drop in for a drink. Some restaurants advertise as restaurant and bar , the bar being a few stools at at the bar or a couple of tables stuck in the corner. They actually have a separate bar which is very nice, high glass ceiling. If I was being picky I would say that we waited quite a while for our dessert plates to be cleared as the waitress appeared to be on a break and the bar staff covered. Not a big deal for me. The overall experience feels like something special , a bit of a treat without being stuffy, I look forward to returning."

"I booked originally for 6pm and had to change to 6:30pm due to traffic. I hadn’t confirmed The new booking so the host could not find a booking for us. It was my father’s birthday and I was really worried I had messed it up. The host, was fine and was still able to get us seated, we were very pleased with that. We were given a choice of tables, and as a larger guest, I was able to be seated comfortably. We’re we’re served by Tom. S ,for the evening. OMG! What a charming and delightful waiter. He was attentive, had great banter and held a wonderful conversation, wished my father a happy birthday, and tended to my wine being filled up all evening. He made us feel wonderful, and made me feel like a million dollars. The food was absolutely superb, French onion soup was perfectly seasoned, the croutons were Devine along with a salty cheese. Loaded with sweet onions: The liver parfait my husband had was delicious he said. My dad and husband had the beef bourguignon, and I had the chicken, gratin with a side of dauphinois potatoes… Again… absolutely perfect. The service here was top notch, and Tom.S made our first experience at Côte the best. He is a first class waiter, that I would compare to the the likes of The Ritz and The Savoy. Fantastic personality, and very well groomed and presented. What a fabulous and marvellous team member you have there. Cherish that! We will definitely return, and recommend this restaurant highly. 5 Service from Tom.S and the chef."

"Took my mum to this restaurant in Richmond and we had a really nice evening. When we first arrived our outdoor table booking was not available but Mike very kindly sorted us out and we got the table we booked. Throughout the evening we got really great attention from the very friendly staff and they made our evening. We had the steak and fries and the ice cream from the 2 course menu. The steak is very thin and nothing special but the fries and ice cream were excellent and overall we felt it was good value for money."

"It's a while since we have visited Cote in Bath; our attendance is determined by Bath Rugby's home schedule. There has been concern that this favourite of ours was compromising on the quality of the dishes served. Our fears were raised when we were presented really sub-standard calamari dishes (normally delicious). The calamari was overcooked and dry. However, the situation was recovered by a really delicious pork belly with perfect crackling, a decent enough fish stew and rock solid steak frites. Otherwise, the service was good and friendly as alway."

"My wife and I took my wife’s 95-year-old Mum out to lunch. As always at Cote the staff were attentive and kind and the food was delicious. We’ve noticed recently that the superb value of the past at Cote has started to come under a bit of pressure and that’s a shame, but that seems to be the way of the world! We paid just over £30 a head for two courses, with soft drinks and coffee all round. Not bad, but we may forget the coffees next time! Thank you Cote…another lovely meal."

Today (23.9.23) around 11am I have come with a friend to meet for breakfast, unfortunately we witnessed some racial comments from a member of your staff, this was a young boy, with brown hair with curls at the front, we were completely flabbergasted with what we witnessed. Your staff members said very loudly in font of other costumers” this is not the Indian cuisine” and laughed with this college, as a man of Asian heritage came in and walked out again. "Before anything the tables are greedily close together so it’s like you’re sat next to the table next to you. They’re also tiny. We couldn’t have a starter and a drink. Even the person who hosted us commented that the tables are small (we hadn’t said a thing) and they worked there. The food: my mum had a chicken dish and I had a vegan burger. The food came up and my burger and chips were cold. So I asked them to please be reheated. They returned cold. Before I’d stated it wasn’t the most appealing looking dish but by now plenty of time had passed and I’d lost my appetite so I sent it back. We realised that the kitchen is a weather spoons style submarine ride down a narrow flight of stairs and the people bringing the food have to wait for the people using the bathrooms to pass. Which was why my food likely got cold (my mum’s didn’t). Now the staff did waive my meal (rightly so) and our drinks (2 teas) and did offer to make something else, but I was so put off. That was decent. However they kept saying “we have a large party in tonight” and blaming it on that. If a large party books a private room in a restaurant, the restaurant know plenty of time in advance. This isn’t an acceptable reason for cold and unappealing food. Poor, wouldn’t recommend nor will I use a Cote again."

"We had reserved for our wedding anniversary dinner for 7.30pm on a Sunday evening. On arrival, the table we were offered was not acceptable and we were reluctantly given a quieter, more suitable one. Service was initially prompt, knowledgeable and cheerful. The house wines by the glass were good value. Our starters, a cheese souffle and steak tartare, were excellent. My wife chose the beef bourguignon which was OK but my belly pork Cassoulet was disappointing. It was too dry, the sausage was tough and clearly not a typical Toulouse saucisson and there was a surplus of bread crouton. My dessert, an Almond financier, was superb. By about 9pm, the restaurant was nearly empty and our waitress was replaced by a scruffily dressed manager who clearly wanted to close as soon as possible which gave a disappointing feeling to the end our meal. I would recommend this restaurant but advise against a late Sunday reservation and to try to book a table as close to the river as possible!"

"we went to silvester to cote and loved it. they had a set menu with a glass bubbly. eating was really good. small nibbles and starters were very nice. we fought to find a bottle of wine and the waitress was nice with us let us taste different wee before we left down on a bottle. very patient. we have paid a bit extra for filet steak and so glad that we did as it was great. delicious. dessert was also included and I had a very generous cheese board for 1. really good quality. my partner had the crème caramel who was very nice. we're coming back!"

"he personal was beautiful and has included our needs. we came into a large group and they could put us and do this with a smile. my only chewing gum would be the odd proportion of yogurt on granola (even tee spoon yogurt on all pieces of granola). "went for a meal last night and was pleased to be able to choose from a selection of vegan starters, main and desserts! I had mushroom bruschetta that made these really delicious little mushrooms, I really enjoyed it, followed by jerk sweet potato curry, and finished with a sticky pear pudding and vegan ice cream. it was so nice to choose from a selection at each part of the menu, instead of just a token vegan option, and with a real ' pudding was nice! for the service and eating that I would have received, I would have forgiven 5 stars, although I guess happy cow 5 stars only keeps for fully vegan / vegetarian places, so it is a well deserved 4 stars."

"Had a lovely meal and a couple of fantastic cocktails. Service was excellent, from booking over the phone, on entry to ordering/service. We had Thai samosas and another veggie starter which were both delicious followed by cod on squid ink risotto and a veggie risotto for me. The only comment I would make is that the veggie risotto was quite liquidy (so not stodgy like every other risotto I've had). It left me feeling like I needed dessert (pear tart), unlike my sisters who had normal consistency risotto under her cod and squid and couldn't finish it. Even with a dinner party of about 20 people going on we managed to receive our food in good time. Ambiance was lovely and the view of the Tower of London and Bridge brilliant. Will pop in again if in the area."
