"We live nearby and usually avoid restaurants that serve meat, so we were hesitant to try this one for a long time, even though it seemed quite accommodating for vegans. However, we finally decided to give it a chance last week, and we had a surprisingly wonderful experience. All vegan options are clearly marked on the menu, and the chef even made the dal makhani vegan upon our request."

"Waited 45 minutes for our starters (which was cold salty) to arrive and hadn't received our drinks until we decided to leave because of the poor service. The management did not care for any of the customers who were not in a pods and refrained from dealing with our complaints until we approached them. Clearly the restaurant can not manage serving their customers at the capacity of pods as well as the restaurant. I recommend focusing their efforts on the pods as it seems to be the only customers they can manage. I blame the management rather than the waiting staff as it was nothing they could do but deal with the amount of customers."

"The food was delicious, but there was some confusion between the online menus and the paper menu. It seems that the paper menu was different because it was their festive menu. Options labeled as vegan on the online menu were listed as vegetarian on the paper menu. When I inquired about this discrepancy and asked for confirmation on which dishes were vegan, the server had to consult with a colleague and eventually provided me with a paper copy of the vegan menu. It seemed there were communication issues as he initially began discussing the chicken section of the menu. Despite the confusion, the food arrived quickly and I enjoyed it. However, I would have preferred a smoother experience without the added stress and uncertainty regarding menu options."

"Lovely little Indian restaurant that was very busy on a Wednesday evening. The menu has loads of veggie options and specifically states that dishes can be made vegan on request. There were quite a few interesting dishes that I haven’t seen at other Indian restaurants. We ended up trying four different side dishes rather than mains as they all sounded so good. Would recommend the Pindi Choley (chickpeas) and Baingan Bharta (aubergine). We spoke with the owner who is veggie and wanted more veggie/vegan diners!"

"I have to start by saying how the staff are always smiling. They 're friendly and have some great recommendations. Moving onto the food, we ordered the chaat platter, chilli paneer and prawns from the tandoor clay oven. I was disappointed by the paani Puri it lacked the tang and explosion of taste you expect, instead it had a very bland and lacked flavour. However the rest of the items on the platter were absolutely fabulous!! Fresh, crunchy, tangy, tasty, flavourful. Everything you expect from a chaat platter. I could have ordered another 2 (without the paani Puri) The chilli paneer was one of the best I 've had! The tandoor clay oven prawns were perfectly cooked and had the right amount of 'tandoor ' taste however the marinate flavour was lacking. Mains veg Kolhapuri.... Oh my gosh!!!! No words can describe how amazing this was and how is it was possible to make veg taste like it did!!! It was absolutely divine!!! We ate it with garlic naan, that too was fab.. it was rolled to the right thinness and had the absolute perfect amount of garlic and butter!! An absolute treat. I should mention as we ate others sat around us on other tables just couldn 't stop complementing the foods they had ordered! So I 'm definitely going back to taste the other items! Desserts gulab jamun and pistachio kulfi ... At first glance the gulab jaman looked lost in the bowl it was presented in, the syrup was way too thin and the 2 balls were too small. However, the taste.... I don 't think I 've had better. Some improvement required in the presentation and with the syrup .. but the taste 5 5 .. amazing! The pistachio kulfi I expect frozen... But ... We couldn 't dig in... Waited almost 25 30mins for it to soften ... Once it did once again the taste was everything you expect... Another 5 5. However does require some thinking to ensure the customer doesn 't leave with a brain freeze instead of the flavoursome taste. We enjoyed multiple drinks including mango lassi, lemonade and mint tea all of which were fab.. even the mango lassi was the perfect consistency however it comes with ice which when melted affects the taste of the lassi (server should ask if the customer would like or not I wasn 't given an option) I 'm going back!! And I definitely recommend!!"

"Why we visited Sampan Bromley? We have been looking for a restaurant to have Sunday Buffet lunch at reasonable price and with many items to taste. We have seen few other restaurants around Bromley do the Buffet but we selected this restaurant as the picture(on the website) provided in Buffet section is tempting and looks like there are many items Actual Experience: When we arrived there, we were shocked. Here is why 1) Less than 11 items in Buffet and that was including Salad items. Here were the items: Here are the items: Starters: a) Salads (too basic) b) Chicken tikka (taste 3 out of 5) c) Lamb sheikh kebab (taste 3 out of 5) d) Onion bhajji (taste cold and soggy so, 2 out of 5) Main Course: a) Naan(plain and dry) and Rice b) Shaag Aloo (taste 3.5 out of 5) c) veg jalfrezi (taste 2 out of 5) d) Chicken tikka masala (taste horrible as an Indian, never seen chicken tikka masala with coconut 0 out of 5) e) Chicken masala (taste 2 out of 5) f) Rogan ghos(lamb) (taste 3.5 out of 5) Dessert: a) Fruits(gapes, pineapple , melons) does it call dessert? "Unprofessional! Absolutely unreal behaviour by the staff! Cleaning cutlery in the restaurant for 40 minutes and smashing it loudly back in the tray which give us major headache! We have then waited 20 min to get our table cleaned and no bill! So we had to get up and go to the bar to pay! Nobody knew what are bill was! There was no apology for wasting our time! We visit this restaurant 3 times a month, but this is just too much! After we’ve paid, there was no thank you have good evening nothing! If you don’t know how to behave in hospitality business don’t bother working in it as you are making customer miserable!"

"So, visited this restaurant with my family for a birthday celebration. Initially when we arrived, there was no one to greet us and took roughly 4-5 mins for someone to eventually approach/greet us. When we ordered, we were not told the starters with individual/apertiser dishes not suitable for sharing. Also being a vegetarian, the vegetarian selection was not the best. The starters were OK but not great either! The paneer tikka was undercooked but alo tikki chat was on point! Before the mains came out, we were informed by the chef the Okra main we chose wasn’t up to the chefs standards and was not happy to make this for us which we appreciated. So they asked us to choose another main and went for an aubergine main. We asked if they could add some potatoes within the dish and we were told that they done have any potatoes on site!! When the mains eventually came out, I can honestly say they pulled it back from being a bad review to a good review. Mains were very good. It feels like the restaurant needs to update their menu to make it more up to date with dietary requirement such as “vegan” and “Gluten Free” which they don’t have (from what I saw). Also there’s a lot of emphasis on meat foods. I truly believe if they update their menu and have more vegetarian/vegan dishes, they would attract a lot more new customers."

"Ordered a delivery from here and waited over an hour for the desserts to arrive! Rang up 3 times and was told misleading delivery information about when the food would arrive. On the 3rd try to get in contact the man just hung up on me! Very unimpressed. By the time the food had arrived, the ice cream on the brownie had completely melted and was swimming in the “ice cream”. the waffle was nice after I had to stick it in the microwave to warm as it was cold. Would’ve been quicker to drive and order in person. Not happy with this service and will not be ordering delivery from here again."

"We loved our experience.. ordered less dishes for the number of patrons in our party(14) , based on previous reviews saying food was too much! We found that in fact the portions were well calculated and we could have indeed ordered a full portion for each person! Food was truly delicious ! "We went to Giftos last week. Due to ramzaan its jam packed at iftaar time. They dont take booking so the trick is to come minimum 20-25 mins early to get the table.They serve dates to break the fast. We called for few veg and non veg items I will give rating below. We were so hungry totally forgot to take photos Seekh kebab 3/5 Haleem 3.5/5 Matar Paneer 2.5/5 Paneer tikka 1/5 chicken karahi 3.5/5 Kulfi rabdri falooda 3/5 there was no rabdri and kulfi was ok in taste Not sure if the chefs were under pressure to make food at iftar time for so many tables. We found chkn Karahi bit oily. Over all the food was good. We will try once more once ramzan is over and if there is difference."
