However, we finally decided to give it a chance last week, and we had a surprisingly wonderful experience. "I visited Milan Indian Cuisine with friends on Friday evening (14 July 2023), as we were staying nearby in the City, for the T20 Cricket Finals Day at Edgbaston. It was new to me, but somewhere my friends had visited before and had praise for and now I can see why! I have a nut allergy, and although my options on Indian menu’s are limited, I have to be extremely careful. I made the staff aware of this as we took to our table, and from the start they were hugely accommodating, helping me with what was nut free, they stayed with me until I had made my order. Really was exceptional! I had a starter of Grilled Salmon, which was very nice, and then a main of Lamb Rogan Josh, with Pilau Rice and a garlic naan. A dish I usually go for to be safe, it was one of the best I’ve had! Full of meat and flavour! A huge thanks, particularly to Nico, who’s service was fantastic! We shall be visiting next year for the Cricket finals!"

"Balbirs provided an excellent experience as always, but with a touch of sadness. "We ordered the momos, lamb chops and nepali crispy chicken. The chicken was juicy and full of flavour. The lamb chops were a disappointment, it didn’t have the usual charred flavour and it was a bit grainy rather than tender texture. The momos is a must order just because it’s an authentic starter to order. For the mains we ordered lamb kahari, fish balti and kantipur methi. My favourite was the lamb kahari, full of flavour and the lamb was tender. My least favourite is the kantipir methi, it’s quite pricey for what you get, not much meat in it and the flavour was lacking. I did also enjoy the fish balti as the fish pieces were still in tact, whereas some places make it like all mushy and just not as great. Generous portions of rice too, the garlic naan was fluffy and fresh."

"I used to go to this restaurant all the time 15 years ago and convinced many friends to make the trip out here. After ages I thought I would try this place again in August as I was in the area shopping for Asian wedding accessories. The staff were welcoming and friendly. I went into the bathroom to wash my hands prior to eating and ordering and I was just disgusted by the smell. It was like a toilet in India that rarely (if ever gets cleaned . I was so disgusted by the smell just in the sink area I didn't even want to think about how clean the actual toilets were or the kitchen. I also don't know if the staff used the same toilets but if they do I have major concerns about the hygiene levels in this place. I walked out before ordering anything (thank God! . I will never return here again."

"Initially, we found ourselves sitting next to a rowdy crowd, but they quickly arranged a special table for us in a quieter area. They went above and beyond to accommodate us with genuine smiles. To top it off, they surprised us by pairing our good beers with champagne and a delightful assortment of vegetarian appetizers. Above all, the service was gracious and cheerful. The food exceeded all our expectations—it was, without a doubt, the best Indian cuisine any of us had ever tasted. "London has a long list of fake' Indian restaurants places where nothing is Indian except the names of the dishes on the menus. Bhatti is one of them. Although the waiter denied this and guaranteed their chef was Indian I had my doubts when the paratha and nan were both made in the tandoor, the butter chicken was made with tomato purée and the motor' paneer had so much mutter in it that it became difficult to wash it down with water as well. Service was just passable with the waiters making you conscious while you eat. From the way they kept staring at us I think the poor fellas were very hungry themselves. "My two friends and I visited Nimboo on a Friday night. The restaurant was only half full, so we were seated next to a wall. I placed my soft leather handbag on the floor next to my chair and ordered the fish curry, which unfortunately was disappointing. The dish resembled a thick tomato soup with small bits of fish. When I picked up my bag, I discovered it was wet and the leather had become soft like a sponge, ruining it. There was a leak next to me, so I informed the waitress who seemed unsure of the issue. The waiter brought a folded tablecloth to soak up the water, but did not address my damaged bag. As I walked to the bathroom, I noticed cartons on the floor to absorb the leaking water. I was puzzled as to why we were seated at that table when they were aware of the leak. I have no plans to return to Nimboo after this experience."
