"It was a chilly day we were looking forward to some hot sour soup... boy, were we ever disappointed! Hot sour soup should have very few ingredients... tofu, mushrooms, onion, a few other things... it should b very thin, spicy should NEVER... EVER contain shrimp, duck, chicken or other meats! It was thick, grainy, reddish-orange actually had a few types of meat... it actually made me sick we won’t b back... I gave the place 2 stars because the fried rice vegetables were good"

"These chicken balls really take me back to the time I was being force fed the most amazing food on the earth by the late queen Elizabeth back in the summer of ‘99. Honestly what a throw back it was, the flavours melting into my mouth like it was 700 degrees Celsius. Then the portion sizes really made me excited with a good amount of chicken balls to the point where one started to feel physically Ill due to the amount of balls and chicken in me. The chips were so succulent I left a changed man and thought that the world only needed chips to live on instead of actual food."

Told me to “Yeah, go kill yourself” then denied it, fortunately for me the customer present at the time approached me after collecting takeaway and confirmed “he did say that, son” DISGUSTING!!! "We have been regular take awayers at Winner City for 19 years. We tried the all you can eat fixed price buffet for 2nd time withn family last night and we were pleased to see how busy the restauarnt was, with lots of young willing front of house staff supported no doubt by a bustling kitchen. Service was very good, and we were able to choose a wide variety of dishes- this allowed us to have a much wider range of food than if we had ordered (and shared) individual meals- the only negative is that you have to be much better at self regulating your calorie intake than we were, to avoid over-doing it! All in all a very enjoyable visit, may be a few years before we are ready to go all in again"

"This is our local restaurant, so I may be biased, but it is absolutely fantastic. It is always busy, which speaks volumes. My wife is vegetarian and gluten free, and they cater to her dietary needs without any hassle. I highly recommend dining here, you will not be disappointed. Regarding dietary restrictions, they easily accommodated my wife's gluten intolerance. The average price per person is £70-80. The food, service, and atmosphere all score a perfect 5 out of 5."

"I celebrated my 59th birthday with my wife, daughter and the team at Henry's yesterday evening. We are frequent visitors, both for dinner and the Sunday buffet (take aways also) and are always made to feel so welcome to the point that we feel part of the Henry's Oriental family. We first discovered Henry's through friends back in 2011 and my wife and I, friends and family members, still enjoy the Henry's experience to this day. We have never been disappointed. The care and consideration for customers offered by Henry and his wonderful team (a special shout out to Zowie, sorry if the spelling is incorrect) is faultless and the food is, without fail, amazing. I can't thank the team enough for making my 59th birthday complete. Looking forward to celebrating with you on my 60th."

"We’d been recommended this place by a friend so we thought we’d give it a go. Everything we ordered was delicious. We ordered a few side dishes prawns, spring rolls and edamame beans. Our mains were chicken teriyaki, sweet chilli chicken and katsu curry. Everything was delicious and flavoursome. The sweet chilli was pretty spicy! We went large and the portion sizes were really good. You can choose between rice and noodles with all the main dishes. Would definitely order from here again."

"We have used this Chinese for many years both take away and restaurant. Ordered our take away at 645 to be told 45 mins. Headed down for 730 to a scene of very irrate customers. After waiting 10 minutes to be spoken to I spoke to other customers who had been wanting an hour and 15 mins for their 30 minute order . There was customers coming back who only received half their order as well. I approached a member of staff and asked for an honest answer on how long my order will be she said late . I then cancelled my order. A completely wasted journey. The frustrating thing was that rather than helping the other frustrated customers they continued to take phone orders. Pure greed from the management which will back fire on them as all they were doing was letting more people down."

"From our very first visit to The Villa on our wedding venue search, we knew it was the place we wanted to get married. For me, it was the oldy worldy feel of the venue with the beams in the Hall and the fairy lights that really swayed it. It’s difficult not to be impressed by the beautiful grounds and impressive driveway. We found Kathryn to be very helpful, knowledgeable and accommodating throughout our wedding planning journey. Nothing was too much trouble when we reached out to her. She brought everything together for us on the day seamlessly and to perfection. The team at The Villa worked very hard in the background making sure everything went smoothly for us on our big day. It was during our wedding planning journey that Kathryn won the Wedding Co-ordinator of The Year Award at the North West Wedding Awards 2023, and it’s very clear to see that this was a well deserved award. Nothing phases her, even when you catch her out by asking for something that she’s never come across before, she reacts as though she’s dealt with that particular scenario a million times before. We would definitely recommend The Villa and Kathryn very highly; if you contact Kathryn about having your wedding at The Villa you will definitely not be disappointed!"

"I have been coming to this restaurant every other weekend for the past 12 years, especially when Crystal Palace plays. The food has always been top-notch, from the quality and taste to the portion sizes and service. It is definitely the best restaurant in the area and I always look forward to my meal here. The mixed grill is a personal favorite and never disappoints. A big shoutout to Sam and his team for consistently delivering such great food and service."

"I’m not quite sure where to start with this as I’ve never experienced such poor service in a restaurant before but I’ll try. So we were a party of 10 celebrating my mother in law’s 60th. My partner isn’t from Dumfries and Galloway so just told me he’d looked this place up and decided to book it. I hadn’t really heard of it and had initially wanted to go to the Bank but after looking at reviews of Truffles and seeing people speak highly of the food I thought let’s give it a try. I noticed many speaking about how awful the owner was but I thought surely he can’t be that bad if people are still going and people are still leaving good reviews. How wrong I was! Another warning sign I should have noticed was that we initially booked in for the Friday but changed to the Saturday and they were able to accommodate that easily last minute so clearly aren’t busy. We were running 15mins late. I called to let them know and apologise. The waitress who answered the phone was accepting of this and said it was ok. On arriving the owner ‘greeted’ us. I again apologised and he shrugged his shoulders but let us in. We all sat down and he immediately came to ask us if we wanted drinks. We were looking at the drinks menu and discussing what we wanted when he repeated in a slow and aggressive tone DO.YOU.WANT.ANY.DRINKS??! It was extremely awkward. My dad asked about red wine and he used his notepad to lean over my dad and aggressively hit the menu and point to a wine on the list. We ordered drinks which included 2 pints of beer. As he walked away we all felt very uncomfortable and decided we did not want to spend our money in such a venue when the atmosphere was cold and aggressive. We all decided to leave. My partner spoke to the owner letting him know his front of house manner was appalling and that we’d be leaving. He said he didn’t “understand people” and that he expected us to pay for the pints that had been poured. I gave him a £20 note and he aggressively gave it back to me, stating he had no money in the till to give me change and swiftly snatched the pints back and put them behind the bar. We then left and were politely accommodated in the Bank next door (which I would highly recommend). As we left, the waitress apologised on our way out. I actually felt bad leaving her in such a cold and horrible environment. That owner should not be front of house. He is rude. He is right, he doesn’t understand people and has no people skills whatsoever. I would avoid this place like the plague and go next door to the Bank! (The one star is for the waitress who we had to leave behind)"

"Went for takeout and the food was actually really good. The prices have improved as well because it used to be a fortune for a meal. Must have new owners or something because it’s a million times better than what it used to be. Only downside is that it didn’t have a cash machine and the one in the village wasn’t working which made it really awkward one stop also charges to get money out so I feel like the Chinese should have paid for that seeing as I had to go in there to get the money out. This is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. Also they don’t give you free prawn crackers and every other Chinese I’ve been to gives you a free bag. However overall they guys at the counter were really nice and the food was awesome."

"Just had lunch for our daughters 17th as wanted to try somewhere different we were not disappointed. The dishes we had were all fresh, home made absolutely delicious. I had the chicken in wine (very tender chicken with herb potatoes fresh veg). My partner had the pork with the same sides our daughter had spinach ricotta tortaloni. For dessert home made, mouth watering tiramisu creme brulee. The service was excellent we would definitely recommend it."

"I have only made a rating of 4 stars which would be 5 star if it wasn't down to rudeness of the male that on occasion answers the phone. Very rude tries to slam phone down before you are finished speaking and doesn't pass information onto delivery staff. Apart from this negative, I can't agree enough the young lady is very sweet, polite and upbeat upon taking your order. Food is great always comes piping hot. Delivery staff are great lads too, so big shout to them also. Get rid of the grump and it would be full marks."

"We visited this restaurant for the first time last night as we love Chinese food and most of the restaurants we liked to visit have closed. We were not disappointed, we had a Hong Kong banquet, all of the food was fresh and tasted delicious. We were given a sufficient breaks between each course so didn’t feel like were rushed. The restaurant was very busy and the staff never stopped all evening but they were still very friendly and helpful. We couldn’t eat all the food and it was no problem getting it boxed up to takeout for tomorrow. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and I will definitely return again, I may even live dangerously and try some of the other cuisines!"

"Called in Sat night 15th Feb to treat my darling to a Valentines Birthday feast. This restaurant holds happy memories for her since childhood. New managers Queenie and Chris with amazing chef Louise gave my wee darling woman a wonderful warm cheery welcome with spectacular blends of tasty food. to our surprise at one point they dimmed the lights off and came in with a lovely surprise birthday sweet with candle. Perfect service, perfect food, great atmosphere from staff and excellent value for money. We shall visit more often with the new management teams customer service. Quality all round."

"I don’t usually leave reviews but I feel I should save you all time, money and disappointment! On holiday in nearby caravan park so popped up for a quick takeaway for myself and my mother. Just two chicken curries with fried rice. I’ve never been served such a bland curry in my entire life! It was literally like a pack of cheap yellow sauce, chopped chicken and onion. More onion than chicken! Absolutely rubbish, avoid at all costs! I’m shocked that the locals here would accept such substandard food quality!"
