"From our very first visit to The Villa on our wedding venue search, we knew it was the place we wanted to get married. For me, it was the oldy worldy feel of the venue with the beams in the Hall and the fairy lights that really swayed it. It’s difficult not to be impressed by the beautiful grounds and impressive driveway. We found Kathryn to be very helpful, knowledgeable and accommodating throughout our wedding planning journey. Nothing was too much trouble when we reached out to her. She brought everything together for us on the day seamlessly and to perfection. The team at The Villa worked very hard in the background making sure everything went smoothly for us on our big day. It was during our wedding planning journey that Kathryn won the Wedding Co-ordinator of The Year Award at the North West Wedding Awards 2023, and it’s very clear to see that this was a well deserved award. Nothing phases her, even when you catch her out by asking for something that she’s never come across before, she reacts as though she’s dealt with that particular scenario a million times before. We would definitely recommend The Villa and Kathryn very highly; if you contact Kathryn about having your wedding at The Villa you will definitely not be disappointed!"

The most important aspect is the way the team can get to know each other’s personalities without having any real contact with each others in their own home and community Rooms: 5 Service: 5 Location: 5 Hotel highlights: Romantic

Great wedding venue, staff super good .Food was just ok, however that's normal for wedding venues who have to put 180plus plates on tables at the same time. This is hard to do at a reasonable price so not really an issue. Rooms: 4 Service: 5 Location: 4 Hotel highlights: Kid-friendly, Great value

This restaurant is like a little slice of heaven. It has a fabulous location with a lovely atmosphere, you can't go wrong dining here. It's just minutes away from many attractions. The rooms are top-notch, the service is excellent, and the location couldn't be better. This hotel is perfect for a romantic and quiet getaway.

My spouse and I had our wedding at The Villa, Wrea Green in September 2023 and it was an incredible day. Our guests were impressed by the beautiful venue and praised the delicious food. Kathryn went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect for us and our guests. We would highly recommend The Villa as a wedding venue. Thank you to the entire team for making our day so special!

I had a terrible experience at this restaurant. The receptionist seemed to look down on me and gave me a vague description of where to go. The room initially looked nice, but upon closer inspection, I found stained carpets, cobwebs on the chandelier, black gunk in the jacuzzi bath, and black fungus under the bath mat. The bed had crumbs on it and the overall cleanliness was disappointing. When I complained to the receptionist, she was dismissive and reluctantly offered me another room, which also had its own issues. I encountered broken furniture, cobwebs, and loose carpeting. The staff seemed more concerned with getting payment than addressing the problems. It's clear that this place is str...

It's an old home turned into a hotel which caters specifically to weddings and other large events. It was very dusty and the carpets were worn and stained. It had some cool furniture and decor and the rooms were fine. The lady who served us breakfast each morning was fabulous, really friendly and great to have a laugh with. The guy that looked after the restaurant for lunch completely forgot about us after having seated us. We had to go find him to place our order for drinks and then waited ages to give our order for food which quite frankly was just ok, nothing fantastic. We had to leave early morning and there was a wedding the night before. We got no sleep from the people partying in thei...

"Having been to Rigbys before and had excellant food and good portions, despite it being very busy. The only downside was when a couple arrived with a huge rottviler but were shown into another dining area, which allthough i thought was wrong to bring a dog into a resturant i thought ok one room for dogs, but still unhygenic. We booked early because it being a saturday night for my 75th birthday. We arrived at 6.15 to a desserted resturant, not good, we sat in the bar and ordered pre dinner drinks and looked at the menu. Then an elderly couple arrived with a very old lab, having just walked across the car park in the rain it had the smell of old wet dog, get us in the resturant away from this i thought. The waitress then showed us to our table in the lean to attached to the farmhouse, where 4 or 5 tables were set, next to us a table for 2, oh oh were going to get the dog next to us. The elderly couple complete with smelly dog were placed next to us, NOW if you want to eat a £28 steak meal next to a smelly dog then Rigbys is the place for you, but the best is yet to come, get ready. Another couple arrive with a cross poodle, where i am sat in the lean to i have a perfect view of the bar, the waitress then strokes the dog talks to the couple and then strokes the dog again, then goes behind the bar and serves three drinks to the table opposite us, unbelievable, no, because after serving the drinks she then goes back strokes and fusses the dog again then without washing her hands she goes into the kitchen for food and serves it. At this point my wife is begging me not to kick off. The meal arrives via unwashed doggy hands and my pidgeon breast is trying its best to look like a chicken breast, more meat on a butchers pencil springs to mind, the portions were small, after the meal sorry fiasco we were both still hungry. As soon as the meal/fiasco was over we went back into the bar where the wife asked for the bill, £48 was paid and we could not get out of the door quick enough never to return. I now know why it was desserted, it's gone downhill faster than Santa's sleigh."
