"GIVE IT A GO!!! Chupitos is such a lovely welcoming restaurant me and my family have been frequent visitors for quite a few years. We have previously been for Sunday dinners, birthdays, mothers day, fathers day, new years eve, and the odd Friday and Saturday night. The food is amazing and always plenty of options all freshly cooked and well portioned. The cocktails are also just as good as any London cocktail bar. Yes sometimes when it is busy or we have come with a very large table we have had to wait a bit but you would get that in most reasonable priced restaurants as they limit their staff to keep costs down. Also their food is cooked fresh and it is soo tasty it is worth the wait. While you browse the menu order a basket of bread with their in house aioli it is amazing. You have to try the cheese and chorizo or the scallops to start followed by the fillet steak with Padron peppers or a roast beef dinner with their glazed veg and roast pots is soo good. If you have room for dessert then all the options are delicious so maybe share and try them all! I have not given a review before as this is not something I generally do, but on our visit this weekend when we inquired how business was doing Katie expressed concern about how a bad review with false allegations could effect her business and she was upset at being called a racist I felt bad for not giving a them a review before so thought I would make sure to do it this time. "they have been here many times and was always pleased to come back many times. this time, however, we were once in a fairness for minutes without someone who even asked for a beverage order, we got a free drink but still quite poor. After we had ordered that we waited for our food, and while I appreciate it, it takes time to prepare and serve, it seemed awfully long, especially after the first few minutes to order for the first place. in short time large foods to reasonable cost in a beautiful atmosphere, customer service shocked and sorted needs before they lose customers."

"We got late Groupon deal (and babysitter)for the good ladies birthday. £34 for a sharing platter 2 including bread, cheese, meats and olives. This was followed by a shared potato gratas and 5 choices from the tapas menu. As is standard some of the items have a supplementary charge. We went for the King prawns in garlic and chilli, chicken and chorizo in a tomato sauce, pan serrano(garlic bread topped with manchego cheese and serrano ham), chicken burger sliders and a breaded cheese with a tomato sauce. The dishes came with a tomato sauce and garlic aioili dip. As you expect with Spanish tapas the good was hearty and tasty. We didn't leave a morsel on the table. This isn't a dog at the portion size (which was more than generous) it is just a testament to how good it was. We finished with chocolate fudge cake that we had to force down which was probably my least favourite course. This could have been down to being stuffed like a pig before the first spoonful so I wouldn't read too much into that. To drink we had a jug of sangria to share. Sweet and fruity. Scoffed the lot. Enough said. We will definitely be back again. Outstanding value. Lovely food. Brilliant service. Wonderful transport links (if like us you like a little tipple with your Friday night meal). You you are literally up the stairs and across the road from the bus and train station. Should be noted that the Groupon deal was for £34 which is a bargain in itself. As it had been a long time since I last used my Groupon I got an extra 50 percent off the deal. I will never spend under 20 pounds for that amount of quality grub again in my life. Been smiling all weekend. 1st time. Definitely not the last."

"We visited here last night with family. The restaurant was busy as they had an offer on. Tables were very close together , so much so it was difficult to get into your seat. We ordered 3 tapas each(1 person had 4) Service was quick and food was good. Once finished , we asked to order another round of tapas but were told we couldn’t do that as it wouldn’t be ready by the time they needed the table back. As the table was not due back for another 40 minutes, we found this surprising. The very nice waitress said she would get her boss. The boss came over and said we couldn’t have any more food as the kitchen was dealing with other orders. She said her piece and then just walked away, which we found rude. We were going to order dessert but decided to go. We were also overcharged and that was rectified. Waiting staff nice but we were disappointed in the attitude of the manageress. If you visit this restaurant, make sure you order enough as it seems that, unlike most tapas, you can’t add to your order, even if there is still time left on your table allocation. It’s put us off visiting here again."

"Staff were lovely could do with better communication and the place wasn't busy at all. Would you like more wine or another drink, some dessert. We're about to close the kitchen would you like anything else before we do. Would you like the bill. No bread laid out on the table either which is a staple for Mediterraneans. My friend likes the place so she will return."

"I am also a restaurant manager, I know that it is rare that people give positive feedback, they only take the time to write when they have a complain. so I really wanted to leave a message here. my friend, I was there for the first time on Saturday night. we were very impressed by the moment we entered. the most important waitress who took care of us was a beautiful young lady. the food was also exceptional. I have eaten mexicans most of my life, this food was before local margaritas were also great. will definitely go back! unfortunately we sat next to a few that was quite rude, but there is nothing that can lead to it. it was not a reflection about the personal."

"Food very average and terribly overpriced for what it was. The only half decent tapas item was the prawns. Didn’t feel very ‘Spanish’ at all. The restaurant itself was too bright not a very good dining atmosphere. They were missing several food and drink items from the menu and staff were very indifferent. We were automatically charged £27 for service which we weren’t given time to discuss with our friends as I wouldn’t have paid that for some food to be plonked down and wine to be spilt down my glass every time it was poured. Won’t be going back."

"I’ve been here before and they always seen to run out of sea bass but on this occasion was not the case which was great! I love the tapas options which I ended up getting with friends as the whole meal before but they also have main options to choose from but they are limited for a non meat eater like myself, but this is not a problem for me. I will definitely return. I love that it is nice and local. Only wish they took Amex..."

"a tiny restaurant in piccadilly, which is located almost in a blink-and-miss area, proved to be a pleasant surprise. it is a family-run restaurant where every customer welcomes with a warm smile. the service in the restaurant was brilliant courtesy and friendly staff and extremely fast turnaround. now it comes to eat. we ordered a chorizo al vino and two three-course meals. chorizo al vino was brilliant! I couldn't get enough of it. Unfortunately, I don't have any bills, so I'm not very sure what we had as part of our meal, but roughly said it was a Spanish tortilla and then we had shocked with oliven for the appetizers. for the main course we had a pig plier...read more"

"When entering, we sat under tables full of family members who walk over each other so that I and my partner were unable to speak a lot as we could not hear. We then got a menu that was just a small selection of dishes and not where on the site said it would be a set dinner. Then we ordered our food that appeared forever and our drinks were forgotten. Our starters arrived after 20 minutes and they were small but beautiful. I ordered a steak and my partner ordered the fish, we got a bowl of veg and potatoes to share when it said that our meals did not come to share with potatoes and veg and then they charged us £162!!!!!! I couldn't believe it!! The food was nice, but the overall experience and the price was a massive decline for New Year's Eve."

"We visited with friends on Wednesday afternoon, and the restaurant was surprisingly empty. It felt a bit cold inside, which made the atmosphere less inviting. I can imagine that with more diners, the vibe would be much better, and it wouldn't feel so chilly. However, the food was delicious, and the hot dishes arrived at our table piping hot! We ordered two menus to share, and the service was good."

"We went on a Saturday night but had pre booked. It was busy but not overly. It took 5 minutes to be acknowledged, a further 5 to be seated, 20 minutes for our order to be taken and roughly 45-50 minutes for us to receive (some) of our order. Given we had a 2 year old with us was a bit frustrating as by the time the food came, there was no interest in eating. We were looking for where the food was cooked and more than disappointed with it being microwaves in the centre of the restaurant. Staff in “kitchen” were on their phones and unbothered about getting orders out. We didn’t even receive some of our order, which hadn’t even been taken off the bill. The food was cold, staff didn’t care for our custom and food “cooked” in a microwave-oven. Not worth the £6-£10 for each dish"

"We were the only 2 people in restauarant. We sent 2 dishes back as the Seafood paella only had 1 piece of mussel in it the potato bravas was reheated potatoes in chilli powder!!! Luckily I had tastecard got discount on some of the price but overall very disappointing. The only reason I didn't refuse to pay was that the wine was very good value the olives were delicious. Will not be returning"

"Ordered olives to start with, £4 for only 7 olives which were not very nice, came out of a very large jar. Mentioned to waiting staff who said they were Spanish olives. Wouldn’t order them again. My friend and I had the Canarian chicken skewers which were very nice but the accompanying potatoes were soft and soggy. Waiting staff were friendly and accommodating. One male member of staff who was either behind the bar or just walking around the restaurant area was wearing scruffy jeans with a large rip in the back and white trainers that were absolutely filthy. Not sure what position he held but he looked totally unprofessional. When we received the bill there was a 12.5% service charge added which we felt we should have been told about on asking for the bill. We did ask for this to be removed and we left a cash tip."
"this place is gone, and we found him only after one that went home. I booked a table to come back. you have to say that it might be the most beautiful tapas we had in glasgow. there are many new Spanish tapas spots in glasgow suddenly tinto, fino, rioja. cubatas is probably the most hidden and easily overlooked in its location. in the interior of its fairly cool, stone floors and walls and a woodable. we were surprised to find the place that is so busy, maybe not as hidden as we thought. the staff was friendly and very helpful. our food was delicious and very big. obviously prepared with carefree. with a bottle of wine, the bill became surprisingly small, which is always good. would definitely go back."

"This is really a very fine place: quiet, understated, spacious, warm… really good professional service, kind, gentle, not fawning, knowledgeable without being too authoritative, generous… and the food… very beautifully modulated, sensible portion sizes… there really is nothing that one can fault the place on… except perhaps the complimentary digestifs… which can be a little more potent than one might really wish… Try it! … but a good idea to book…"
