"I recently had the pleasure of dining at SoPa Thai, and it was truly a delightful experience! The moment I walked in, the atmosphere transported me to a world of Thai sophistication and allure. The culinary exploration began with Tom Kha, a delightful combination of coconut milk, galangal, and lemongrass. Each spoonful was a delicious harmony of creamy and zesty flavors that perfectly complemented the tender chicken pieces. It wasn't just soup; it felt like a warm embrace in a bowl. Next, the beautifully presented Green Curry arrived. The curry was a work of art, filled with the richness of green chilies and fragrant basil leaves. The vegetables were fresh, and the chicken was incredibly tender, all bathed in a sauce that was the perfect blend of spicy and sweet. Then came the highlight of the evening, Pad Thai. The noodles were coated in a flavorful tamarind sauce, mixed with eggs, tofu, and a generous sprinkling of crushed peanuts. The dish was a delightful mix of textures and flavors that left my taste buds amazed. The grand finale was the Mango and Sticky Rice. The mango was ripe and sweet, a wonderful complement to the warm yet slightly salty sticky rice. Drizzled with coconut milk, this dessert was not just a treat but a festival of flavors. In summary, SoPa Thai is more than just a restaurant; it's a culinary paradise. Each dish showcased the chef's expertise in balancing flavors and textures. If you're in search of an authentic Thai dining experience, SoPa Thai is the place to go. Their Tom Kha, Green Curry, Pad Thai, and Mango Sticky Rice take you on a journey through the heart of Thailand. I highly recommend it!"

"Booked a table online for 7 people and got confirmation via email to say it had been received by the restaurant. On arriving at the restaurant I mentioned my name for the booking and the time, and the server looked confused and then asked how many people it was for. She told me and my friend to wait while she set up the table. Not sure how their online booking system works but they hadn’t realised we were coming. Luckily the restaurant was empty so there was plenty room for us. We were given Thai prawn crackers while we chose our food from the menu. Cutlery was set up for half of the table by the server and then the other half had to set it up themselves. We laughed this off as we couldn’t see a reason for the server only doing half and then walking away. We ordered a mixture of dishes between us and found they all arrived at different times, so some had almost finished by the time other food arrived. We felt that there was perhaps only one chef so the food didn’t come out at the same time. My duck pad thai was tasty and came with a good amount of duck. However my roti was mostly burnt on one side, as was my friend’s one. My friend enjoyed her tom yum soup which was not too spicy but filling. The salads were very spicy! At the end of the meal we were given a bill which wasn’t ours. It was a receipt for a takeaway order where none of the dishes matched what we had. My friend went to complain and get the correct bill (which the server didn’t quite understand). We were eventually given the correct one with service charge added on. We did not receive an apology for the mix up from the server. We reluctantly paid the service charge added on though not believing the service received warranted as such. No COVID measures in place apart from mask wearing, however some of the kitchen staff came out of the kitchen clearly not wearing one. We wore our masks when not at the table but there was no signs or enforcement to do this."

"To put the scenario in context……..we have just returned from travelling overseas for my husbands 70th birthday holiday and I had promised him a Thai meal Thai food is a favourite of ours) when we returned…so I booked The Blue Orchid at the Verve hotel. We arrived and the place was absolutely empty. We were shown to the only table which had menus on it. We knew what we wanted as we had looked at the menu online earlier in the day. We ordered Set Menu A and two diet cokes and some prawn crackers. The starters arrived and after eating a few bits of battered vegetables, I managed to get the attention of the waitress and asked to see the menu again so we knew what we were eating, because I was pretty certain it said satay chicken and tiger prawns. The menu came back and I asked what we had been served because it had no resemblance to the menu description. The waitress apologised and said she had thought we had said Set Menu B …we said categorically not we had clearly said A. The waitress went to get her senior and we repeated the problem. The senior member of staff assured us we would get Set A main courses. The original waitress apologised again and I pointed out that menu A&B had the same starters and she said that the chef had misheard her and cooked menu D starters which were all vegetarian. She then asked which of the A starters we would still like. We agreed we’d like the tiger prawns and chicken satay served with the main course. Some time later the main course was delivered by the original waitress and her senior. I asked her senior where the main course tiger prawns were and what was the food on the table because once again it resembled nothing like what we had ordered. She said she would go and ask the chef and off she went. We divided the rice in half and ate the starter prawns and satay which were cold…at which point the other waitress disappeared….we waited a while for someone to return and then we started eating the duck and chicken. After a while I called out was someone going to come and talk to us about the food. The senior waitress and the original waitress returned and said they would make an adjustment to the bill. I said that wasn’t acceptable as we had deliberately chosen that menu to eat prawns and because it had no chilli. I asked to speak to the manager. When he arrived he went into a tirade saying he wouldn’t have his staff shouted at or spoken to the way we had spoken to them….we had been in normal voice and very polite, considering they had completely ruined my husbands birthday meal. The manager was shouting at us “did we want the meal removed and set meal A cooked for us yes or no “ he kept repeating “yes or no”. My husband, a quiet man, told him we wanted him to listen to our complaint and explain why we had been assured we would get Menu A after the starter mixup and we were still not served what we had ordered. The manager didn’t reply he constantly interrupted and spoke over us and I told him at least twice to stop being so rude to us both…he still kept shouting “Do you want this replaced with menu A, yes or no” We finally said no. I said, I no longer wanted to eat as I was very upset and I apologised to my husband for his disastrous 70th birthday meal. The manager said we needn’t pay for the meal….as if that made it OK. He then stormed off. I put £10 on the table to pay for our drinks and the prawn crackers which were the only thing we had which we had actually ordered. The waitress said we didn’t need to. But I left it there. As we went past reception I waited for the manager to finish booking 3 people in and told him I had left £10 to pay for the drinks and crackers, and that his behaviour was an absolute disgrace. We were absolutely amazed at this shameful behaviour of the manager. The waitresses had had polite and civil conversation and we had been polite in return..if telling someone that it was unacceptable to continuously serve food completely different from what has been ordered is being rude, I wonder how one can convey the situation to the staff…neither me or my husband shouted or raised our voices but the manager didn’t even ask us what the problem was he just steamed into us…..this establishment doesn’t deserve to be in business if this is how it’s managed…it’s no wonder it was completely empty in its restaurant. I can honestly say we will never be going again neither will any of our family or friends."
"My partner went out to pick up some vegetables in batter with sweet and sour sauce with Jasmine rice. They were told there was no batter available, so my partner asked if plain vegetables would suffice, to which they agreed. However, what was brought back was disappointing to both of us. Instead of Jasmine rice, we received plain white rice that tasted ordinary. The dish consisted of undercooked peppers, a bunch of overcooked onions, and no other vegetables. We were left wondering why it was so difficult to properly cook some carrots, broccoli, peas, or mushrooms."

"I have visited the Thai square in fulham, south kenignton, but my favourite place is in putney brigde, meal after the sun is down through the rvier is simply stunning. services never disappoint that these young are very friendly and attentive - always, thank you. but the quality of food was really not the same. I dare to say without taste. too salty, my seafood hot dish for 17£ was not enough of everything. it wasn't as good as ever! our bill was up to now about 80-90 for a delicious dinner with the desert and we take quite exactly the same dishes each time. our bill without desert comes to £140. I've been disappointed!"

"we have this ding, my partner and I. whenever we are for a meal, and find two dishes that we are both sharp, we get one and compare our impressions; without failing, its taste better than mine. that was not an exception: I had only one submission of his main, but immediately decided that I was back to reun thai has only one whole part, and I only did that I had forgotten what it was called. even though my hints weren't the most helpful, our waitress with them has been admirable and pointed me to the gang phed fed yang: a dish roasted duck in a sweet cocos milk sauce, dryer than your usual thai curry, but with meat as tender. as well as I remembered; even better, maybe because I had a massive support from it. with sticky rice."

"there was a whole vegetarian menu that we were told was also usually vegan with a few taken out (e.g. when they ask the pad Thai to do it without a). the personal seemed completely glued when we explained that we were vegan and when I double checked, there was no fish sauce in the dressed that are so marked that they said there was no. we had dimmed to begin, followed by pad thai and massaman curry. the food was delicious, the service was good and the restaurant was spacious and airy."

"Went for lunch and were the first to be seated. Around 10 minutes later other diners came, communicating in their first language with staff. We were sat waiting to order, no one came back. A young man came to ask if we wanted drinks, we said no and wanted to order food. He just left and didn't take our order as it wasn't his job. Sat there watching staff standing at the juice bar. Then the two diners who arrived after 10 minutes after is were served their food. All still while our order wasn't taken. We were contemplating leaving. A lady sent food back and new food was prepared before our order was even taken. The second time I've been to paste and I felt discriminated against on this occasion. People of the same nationality were served first. One diner finished their meal and we hadn't even had our order. I won't be going back. Shame the foods nice. Cheeky they included a tip on the bill, when we had extremely poor and bad service."

"We decided to have dinner at Royal Thai during a night out in London. We have visited a few times before and the food is consistently delicious, and the service is excellent. We made a reservation online earlier in the day and called an hour before we arrived, which was a good idea because the restaurant was fully booked. Additionally, we were able to take advantage of the "eat out to help out" discount."

"Nice restaurant with good food but table and chairs need updating and the walkway to the main restaurant is quiet dangerous as you have to walk up a small bridge in the restaurant. Overall very nice food and service."

"Welcoming as always. We started with a Turkish Delight cocktail, which was divine. We had a selection of delicious starters including deep fried eggs in Tamarind. Wonderful! We moved onto Chicken Panang and Sweet and Sour prawn. Food all beautifully spiced and not too hot for us. Great service, food and overall hospitality. Thank you"

"Ok,let’s get things straight.Cockroaches don’t have to mean the place is dirty. I was here for the food on recommendation, and I was so so disappointed. The staff are welcoming however the food isn’t. I went for a salad to start, very watery and far too much lettuce. For main I had a curry and asked for it extra hot.As well as being like they’d left the tap on it(so watery)there wasn’t any kick to it at all.Considering their top end price tag I was expecting far greater quality. My advise: Avoid, look elsewhere or go to a supermarket and buy a commercial Thai dish,I’m sure it will be far far tastier. In a nutshell: Poor quality and overpriced."

"This is my second time giving a one-star review. I decided to review this place and brought a friend along with me because I heard it was a great spot for Thai food. I'll keep this brief. We went for lunch and there was only one other couple there. We ordered a bottle of New Zealand white wine but received a bottle of cheap white wine instead. When I mentioned this, the waiter said it was all they had. I asked the waiter for food recommendations but he couldn't suggest anything. We ordered four dishes and each one came out warm and quickly. I requested fresh chilis but was given sweet chili sauce instead. The waiter never checked on us during our meal and instead sat watching something on his laptop. Overall, I was very disappointed with this place, especially after reading the great reviews."

"For the first time in the Brighton Giggling Squid, in a group of five on Wednesday evening (booked a week in advance). It looks like a converted house. Two steep steps to the entrance door, then sharp right onto the first dining area or straight up and flights from stairs to other dining areas here and there. Toilets are right at the top of the building, in what looks like a loft conversion (low ceilings at 45 degrees. We had a table upstairs in a small room with tables for four, four, two and six (us. Waiting staff were often to see and although it was busy (BOOK! there was little hanging around. We ordered starters and nets to go in a way we were very hungry and eight drinks. Cocktails served quickly, all right. The food was presented in shed pans and stoneware bowls, which you ate with knits and forks. Everything was nice, a starter, a main and a rice or noodle dish was about the right size for a hungry adult. They add a 10% service fee to the bill without asking, but waiter said that is shared right between the staff so that I do it at this and no top above, £184.03 overall. NB. The parking at The Lanes is only £5 from 18 to midnight and we used it. It is an excellent complex just found the corner of the restaurant."
