"Visited on a whim, and Indian food is something I do enjoy. Sat downstairs and my order was taken right away. Poppadoms and a variety of sauces were brought and I nibbled whilst waiting for the meal I ordered. It only took minutes and was delivered, piping hot. It was fabulous, really well cooked and very tasty. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for fast and friendly service and a lovely meal. It was, I feel, a tad pricy, the rice was separate, and although they do meal deals, this was outwith the times. However, it is in St.Andrews so that seems to be on par with Edinburgh pricing. Lovely meal though."

"our restaurant in shire. incredible service, beautiful atmosphere and the French cuisine is never less than stunning. tonight our amuse beech came in the form of a mini chicken kebab with tamarindensauce, perfectly spicy enough tickling the tonge. for beginners I shared the mixed seafood plate, with a juicy grilled king prawn, super soft salmonticka and sesame heavy fish, all with swirling and artful beats of accompanying chutneys, sauces and sounds (including crispy purple mini peppered tweezers! . but as always, the showtoffer was my main beautifully boiled to pink perfection, this hunk of buttery soft stealing with carrots, pommes fondant, celeriac puree veal jus, all topped with crispy shards of crispy parsnip. on the side we also ordered spicy ginnpowder kartoffels, mushrooms with truffle and spinach and a basket crispy naan with basilikum and chili and garlic and cilantro. that is the French-Asian fusion best! chad, the chef cook was invited to master chef again and again, but he will not leave his kitchen, he is every night there to pour love into any dish he sends out, and it shows."

"The pizza at this restaurant is your typical takeout style - a basic bread base with a variety of toppings. While nothing special, it is still much better quality compared to some other big chains. The curries could use some improvement, as the basic sauce is tasty but the portion sizes are on the small side. The dessert was a bit overcooked and lacking in quantity. Additionally, there was no warning about the meat used in the dishes. On the positive side, there is no additional cost for rice or chapatis. As of the time of this review, the restaurant has received a hygiene rating of 5, which is reassuring."

"Googled closest Indian restaurant to Manchester Airport as were were picking relatives up. The Cinnamon Tree came out nearest. Booked a table online. Was very pleased with the food which was lovely. Good sized portions. Thought it was quite expensive though compared to our local Indian restaurant which is in a nicer setting and has nicer decor. The Cinnamon Tree would benefit from an update particularly the upstairs toiled facilities. Nice friendly Staff however and would go again if the occasion arose."

The servers are familiar with our usual order and promptly bring us large, ice-cold Katmandu beers to kick off our meal. "we visited pepper during a short holiday break between christmas and new year. it was a quiet night to be a Wednesday, although there were a few larger groups celebrated birthdays and, although we had booked online, there were many tables to choose from. the menu contained some dishes that we had not met before. we had small but beautifully cooked and presented seafood stars. for the main course my partner chose the tandoori lammings that were plentiful and excellent. I had a royal dish that was just as delicious. there was a light mix with our order that was taken on a digital device, which led to us getting a few dishes that we had not requested! However, this was quickly sorted out, with excuses and a free supplement. a very nice meal in a beautiful restaurant."

"we went for the first time on Friday. I'm shocked it won't heaving! the food was delicious, the staff was so friendly and did not linger or hasten you. there was so much choice on the menu and loved that they could see in the kitchen that proved they had nothing to hide! the ice cream is amazing when they can choose a taste, the naan looks amazing and they were so helpful with diet requirements. if they enjoy beer and do not drive, they try the king cobras, but warn them are quite strong! we took two parent groups, both of whom said it was the best indian they were, the facility that was the personal everything brilliant. 100% recommended!"

"Had several different dishes and starters. Blandest curry i have ever had in my entire life. Non of the dishes tasted of anything except bland plain gravy. Couldnt even tell the difference between the lemon rice and the garlic rice so the chef needs replacing. Needless to say will never order from this shambolic establishment ever again. Buyers beware"

"Wow! We were so looking forward to Indian food In Birmingham, and James Dahl Indian did not disappoint. The staff were lovely and attentive. The food was delicious. "I am always hopful when trying a new place but this was a let down. The waiter didn't seem to know what was on the menu, or what is job was, and it was a major mission just to place our order. The noisy turbine extractor fan in the dining room sparked to life when smoke from the kitchen filled the room, doors were opened to help manage the smoke, it was not nice. The food was okay, the value was okay with the toptable deal, but without the deal forget it. The washroom experience was unplesant to say the least. Air freshener lined the wall. Chicken was defrosting unattended in a downstairs kitchen sink. Sorry but never again"

"Walking up Borough High Street, I passed Truly Indian on my way to sainsburys. I noticed that the chicken tikka wrap was back on their lunch time menu. It had not been advertised for while but historically I had at least one a week when there were last on the menu. They were amazing £5.95 for the wrap and a drink.So decided to have one again, this time its advertisd at £4.95 but no drink. Not to worry dont like fizzy drinks anyway.So at my desk and half way through it and although the sauce had changed and not as good as previous the main issue was the chicken. I decided to unwrap it and clearly the old chuncks of chicken tika have been replaced with finer cuts of chicken with no tikka. And I counted 4 very small slivers the size of a finger nail.This is just unbeleivable. I know produce and rents have gone up but a decent operator is not taking the mickey with this type of trick.Management please sort it out please, at £5 i can get a decent burger of the market or a mixed meat mezze at the establishment opposite you. Not happy. Clearly not, as I dont write reviews unless something is great or something is really bad."

"I absolutely love this place. The owner and the staff are friendly, just the kind of warmth you'd expect at an authentic Indian and Nepalese restaurant. I used to frequently visit Balti Curries even when I was a student at Falmouth University. They have a wide variety of dishes. I had the onion bhajees, momo, and the lamb tikka biryani. The portion size was really good and the taste was exceptional. Thank you for the lovely experience."

"Revisited after having moved away from London almost years ago and glad to say the food was as good as I remember it when we used to go regularly. It was a bit quiet, I assume from people being cautious about COVID, but deserves to be busy every night! I wish it was nearer so I could visit regularly but will have to content myself by visiting when I can."
