"We arrived at exactly 5pm when our table was booked, we were sat down and then left as if we had been forgotten about my other half went up to the bar to order drinks and asked someone to come and take our food order at 5:30 and they came over at 5:45. Our starter arrived at 6:15 and then our mains was not delivered until 7pm we felt as if we had been forgotten about and we understand it was busy but no one came over to apologise for the delay or even explain that there would be a delay. The food when it did arrive was cold, and because of this I didn’t eat much of mine at all. I am very disappointed as I have been before and the service and food was amazing so to come back and receive this service and poor food was a disappointment."

"While the food is good the service is very poor. We arrived for our reservation to be told our table was not ready. No problem, we waited in the bar for minutes and then went back to find they’d forgotten about us and had no table for us. They eventually found us a table, but it wasn’t laid up fully and they didn’t sort it out. We then waited another minutes before we gave up and went to the bar to get someone to take our food order. After our food arrived we again waited for a very long time and eventually had to call someone over to order the children’s ice creams. They then came out with the wrong flavours. We asked for dessert menus and waited minutes for those. After another minutes we gave up, went to the bar to pay and had dessert and coffee at home. I’m not very impressed with the service at all. Last week I was there someone ordered a slice of cake only to be given a plate and told “you’ll have to pick it up with your fingers, I don’t know where the tongs are” he also wasn’t offered any cutlery to eat his cake with. Such a shame as the pub is lovely."

"My wife and I waited 35 mins before a drinks order was taken, which is no big deal but a little longer than we would have liked. We also ordered our food at the same time. My wife ordered a non-alcoholic cider and I ordered a non-alcoholic lager. After about ten minutes my wife made the comment, I feel drunk. Upon closer inspection of the bottle, we saw that we had the full alcoholic version of the cider. My wife does not drink and is currently breastfeeding which has health implications for her and our daughter but also, we do not drink for religious reasons. We did bring this to the attention of the waitress who apologied but did make mention that it is ultimatley up to us to check what we are consuming; I then asked if I could go into the kitchen to inspect the ingridients used in our food for our dietary requirements so I can check before consumption; this was met with understanding as soon as she realised that her initial comment was beyond the pail. she then did go on to make comments that she drank Guiness when she was pregnant and breastfeeding and her children are OK, which flies in the face of any NHS or WHO guidence. The food was quite nice when it arrived but my wife feels such a sense of guilt that she has to now bottle feed our baby and has broken a religious vow to not consume alcohol which has caused her further upset through the night in the form of an upset stomach. The root cause is that there are three separete times that this mishap could have been prevented by the staff. 1. Upon inital order. 2. Checking the initial order by the bar staff. 3. the waitress checking the final order before placing it on the table. The end user, who is paying to relax, should not have the burden of ensuring that jobs have been correctly done. Think of the danger of someone that had to drive after consuming the alcohol that they hadn 't asked for that did not recognise the signs of being drunk. If a minor had been given alcohol. If someone had been on medication that could affect them. This mishap, coupled with the waitress ' bizaare apology/health advice will mean that there would have to be a huge incentive for us to visit again. Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 2"

"VERY DISAPPOINTING. Had heard a lot about the pub so was really looking forward to it. Not the greatest start waiting over 5 minutes to be served then being charged £12.20 for 2 pints of ale and a coke in the bar beforehand ! [How do these places justify charging £4.80 a pint ?! Restaurant welcome and service was very good but felt the food like the drinks was overpriced Over £7 for a Venison pate starter with Malted Sourdough bread which turned about to be 2 x half slices of the hardest, driest bread I 've ever had. Our burgers were good but not worth the money. The dessert made up for it a little mainly due to is size. Overall take away the restaurant service element and it was a very disappointing, very expensive, meal. Wouldn 't recommend, and won 't be back !"

"I made a reservation for a table of 7 at 7pm online. I received immediate confirmation online as well as an email to confirm our booking. However, when we arrived, the staff mentioned that they had no record of the reservation. Despite the restaurant only being half full, they were able to accommodate us. We had chosen this venue primarily for their Sunday roast, which we heard good things about and is served until 9pm. Unfortunately, when we sat down, we were informed that they had run out of Yorkshire puddings. Shortly after, they took away the Sunday menu and said it was no longer available, but we could still order from the regular menu. When my mother-in-law asked if she could swap chips for mashed potatoes with her pie, she was told that the mashed potatoes were already designated for other dishes. At this point, we decided to leave. The staff did make an effort and seemed understanding, but appeared annoyed when we left since they had already started on a few drinks. The restaurant appeared nice and had a good atmosphere, but the menu was on the pricier side. Other diners were also heard complaining about long wait times even though the restaurant wasn't very busy. Overall, we were extremely disappointed with the entire experience."

"We really wanted to enjoy this meal more than we did, although the staff and service were great, so friendly and attentive, the food was not as good as it could have been. Starters were excellent, but the main meals just didn’t hit the spot, the emphasis appeared to be on presentation and volume (HUGE portions) rather than quality and attention to detail. As an example, the mussels I had were either not as fresh as advertised or had been overdone as they were chewy and tasteless, many of the shells were broken which meant the sauce was gritty, and I wasn’t given a finger bowl or separate dish for the shells; I did inform the waitress that the mussels had not been good, however she did not ask for any other information or feedback for the kitchen. I had eaten less than half of them (and that was with the help of my fellow diners) but was not offered a reduction on the bill. The desserts were lovely, however. I would probably give them another try in the future, as it was not awful but if it were to be a similar experience then I would not return. Maybe we were just unlucky on this occasion."

"I asked about potion size of the crispy duck salad and was reassured that it was bigger than my last visit. I'm sorry to say but in my opinion, is still only a starter sized potion. My 3 guests all had Sunday lunch but all had to have beef, that's all they had left, not complaining about that but the food when served, was at best Lukewarm. It took around 5 minutes after the food had been delivered for the gravey to arrive. Overall I thought the service was poor."

"My partner ordered 'fish super ' as a surprise meal because this sounded like a nice GF treat and we like the concept. However i 'm very disappointed so keen to write a review so others realise the online order is nowhere near as good as the restaurant my main reasons are outlined below to help: 1. ParcelForce was used to deliver, the box came 1 day late as the courier claimed to attempt the delivery but we were home all day and no one tried the buzzer or called. The contents were completely damaged despite being well packed in sturdy box and arrived defrosted and at room temperature on arrival. 2. The sauces despite being in circular plastic sealed containers had leaked oil over all other contents so everything was oily. 3. Food wise I was bitterly disappointed and I think this might be to do with the concept of freezing food for too long or even thinking its acceptable to freeze food. The white fish was tasteless, almost like it was old and had lost all its flavour, the chips were soaked in oil and squashed and we threw them out after trying one chip each. Its worth adding we have always wanted to go to this restaurant as its in the neighbourhood always busy but we definitely do not recommend anyone orders food online and personally I will likely never go in to the restaurant now. Added later: Just to respond to this Restaurant 's comment: I tried to call multiple times today, but no answer. Very happy to discuss with you and share feedback and I will try back again tomorow. I do think my feedback is honest, fair and useful for others. Please note the food was not warm, it was fully thawed but cold/fridge temperature and the instructions pointed out that it should last thawed for around 48hours. I wouldn 't want anyone to experience this (and its not just about the damage of the box). Thank you."

"we visited this pub on Thursday evening, the 10th august, for a meal with family and friends who were all in wellesbourne for the high time of a friend. our booking was for 7.15 clock after a very long wait our starters finally arrived at 8.35 and our main course at 8.55 clock. our group consisted of 5 adult and 3 young children, so when the food arrived, it was time that the children were in bed, and the rest of the group wanted to come back to our hotel to the other high-time guests. the debt was not the personal that worked in the pub. .The two young waitresses ran back and forth and took the customer's food and were both very polite and very apologetic about the delay. the management should have found an incentive to get more employees in this night to serve all customers. we had booked in advance, we were not only on the road, like our friends who had a 6.30 booking and had suffered a similar delay. we got discounted from our bill when we complained, and eating was very nice, but that was inacceptable, and the pressure on the waiters would have both earned them a wage rise. I'm sorry, but until the personal is sorted out, I won't recommend the kings head to everyone."

"We were in the area so popped on for dinner 4th April. I'd like to congratulate thd Management for a nice, clean and welcoming pub. Outside there's a large carpark and tables to the side. Inside, you'll find different areas to sit; elevated tables with high stools, snugs (one with club chairs) and more formal dining tables all nicely laid waiting for diners. We were pleasantly surprised to find all burgers at £9.95 on Wednesdays, so I had one. Yum. My Wife had the chilli which was very good as well, although the rice could've been warmer. The beer's good, the wine choice good, the food's good. Our waitress, Katie was warm friendly. I can't eat nuts and mentioned this on my booking. The staff went out of their way to help which isn't always the case so I was impressed. Highly recommended. A great pub."

"Really disappointed as previously had a great experience. We were told there was a min wait and we waited a good minutes. Food was warm at the most not hot, then when we ordered desert the ice cream that accompanied it was running like it had been standing for a time. "I was very disappointed with my experience at the restaurant on Mother's Day. I called the day before to make a reservation, but never received a confirmation or any communication from the restaurant. Despite them claiming that the manager had tried to call and leave messages, I never received anything on my end. I had booked through Opentable, where our reservation was confirmed, but when we arrived with my whole family, there was no booking in the system. This ruined our special Mother's Day celebration, as we hadn't seen each other since January. I was very disappointed and frustrated with the lack of communication and organization.
