"VERY DISAPPOINTING. Had heard a lot about the pub so was really looking forward to it. Not the greatest start waiting over 5 minutes to be served then being charged £12.20 for 2 pints of ale and a coke in the bar beforehand ! [How do these places justify charging £4.80 a pint ?! Restaurant welcome and service was very good but felt the food like the drinks was overpriced Over £7 for a Venison pate starter with Malted Sourdough bread which turned about to be 2 x half slices of the hardest, driest bread I 've ever had. Our burgers were good but not worth the money. The dessert made up for it a little mainly due to is size. Overall take away the restaurant service element and it was a very disappointing, very expensive, meal. Wouldn 't recommend, and won 't be back !"

Excellent food and service, little noisy on the music but otherwise a great experience!

Great place, good, varied menu and very good service from the staff However our food did take a long time to arrive.

The food at Hall Woodhouse is absolutely delightful, and the service is excellent. We highly recommend making the drive out to Portishead to experience a fantastic evening celebrating a special birthday.

Booked for my daughters birthday and asked if they could do a special pudding on my message. Nobody bothered. Waitress was pleasant but got our order wrong twice. Nice venue though and food was superb and not overpriced. View menu

Tables were too close together for a Valentines evening, the pastry on the lemon tart was awful, and the waitresses were constantly at the wrong table. Starters and mains were excellent, staff friendly, the concept of the evening was excellent and a decent price.

Waited over an hour for our Sunday roast! When it arrived dad’s was cold, mine and mums had hardly any pork, mainly fat! Kids were fine though. Staff were lovely though and gave a sizeable discount for our poor experience. Had the rugby on the tv and said hadn’t expected it to be so busy....really!!

The sirloin was overcooked and dry, making for a disappointing Sunday Lunch experience. The lamb shank was also tired and unimpressive. Despite arriving early in the service, the food seemed to have been prepared in advance instead of freshly made. The atmosphere was nice and the staff were friendly. View menu

The food at this restaurant was delicious, especially the fish and chips. It was cooked fantastically, but the portion size was quite small for the price of £13, with very few chips. Another downside was that there were only 2 roast meals left when we arrived at 4pm, so don't count on being able to have a roast later on a Sunday afternoon. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

We had booked to have a nice family Sunday lunch to celebrate a birthday. We did ask a couple of times for a highchair although we had requested one in our booking notes in the end had to get one ourselves. We didn’t know the live rugby would be screened, it was very loud but staff did turn it down each time we asked. Otherwise the food was very delicious, particularly the chocolate brownies which were worth the visit by themselves, the staff were very friendly and it was lovely light with a nice view. We will definitely visit again but just check there’s no live sport first!

"Visited here in Sept 23 for an executive dinner that we were hosting for various senior business leaders. We booked out the whole venue, which was the perfect size and atmosphere for the intimate and exclusive feel that we wanted, plus a convenient location. The TV that shows into the kitchen was fascinating, and the record player was put to use towards the end of the evening! Caroline from the venue helped us organise the event in advance and was great to deal with. We were fortunate with the weather so were able to enjoy a welcome drinks reception out the front of the venue, and have the door open all evening to let the balmy night in. We had the 7 course taster menu and it was simply OUTSTANDING so many of our guests commented on how delicious it was, particularly the beef steak course! It was so tasty that I even enjoyed the fish dish (not usual for me! . Service on the night was exemplary, the courses were brought out at just the right intervals so you weren't waiting ages but also not being rushed. The chef came out to greet us after the final course, which was a lovely touch and meant we could thank him. Overall, we had really great feedback from our guests, everyone loved it thank you for making our event such a success! We would definitely book again, and I know a few of our guests have already recommended it to their own companies for executive dinners! Would not hesitate to recommend."
