"Vito’s Italian had been on my ever-growing list of Restaurants to try for a while, so it was a welcomed nudge when Vito invited me to come and try what he describes as authentic Italian food. Being Italian himself, and heavily involved in all parts of the restaurant, the passion that Vito has for food really comes across in the dishes served here. The restaurant had a warm, open feeling to it and the bar area feels a little rustic. Our waiter was very friendly and tentative which I love about proper Italian restaurants, the staff always want to make you feel welcome as soon as you walk in. The specials board that evening included a lot of seafood so I didn’t choose from it this time but I do love seeing a specials board! The menu itself is vast so it took me a while to choose what I wanted, but it’s great to see that Vito’s offers the pasta dishes as a smaller portion for starters too. For my starter, an unusual choice for me, but I decided to go with Scamozza Al Forno Con Funghi – Oven baked Scamozza cheese with mushrooms, garlic and parsley. A large portion of big, fresh mushrooms lightly cooked and baked in lots of a cheese, far from the soggy, horrible garlic mushrooms you sometimes get on a menu that just leave a sour taste. I don’t often go for mushrooms but I was really pleased with my choice and really enjoyed this starter – so much cheese! Ben went with a starter portion of the Ravioli Aragosta – Lobster filled ravioli cooked with prawns and a touch of cream. Inside the ravioli was real, fresh, big chunks of lobster. The prawns looked big and juicy too and the dish was presented beautifully. I was tempted to be honest, but I stuck to my guns with choosing not to eat seafood (was the most difficult it’s been since I stopped eating it months ago! . However I am told this dish was perfect and delicious. It was a tough decision on which Main dish to go for. Vito recommends the traditional Carbonara. BTW don’t offend him by going to his ITALIAN restaurant and asking for an English or practically made up version of Carbonara in a cream sauce or with chicken in it – that is not a Carbonara and not an authentic Italian dish. I couldn’t believe when he told me that he had previous customers asking for it this was and giving a bad review when he said that he did not serve Carbonara in such a way. However, that night the meal that caught my eye most on the menu was Strascinati Con Salsiccia Lucana (nope I couldn’t pronounce it either – Strascinati (this word comes from the meaning to “pull” as you can see in the shape of the pasta cooked with homemade sausage meat, tomato sauce, basil and chilli. (Typical pasta from Vito’s hometown . Wow – the dish looked amazing, tasted amazing and it was amazing that I actually ate the whole bowl-full, but I did Really good choice and right up my street in terms of taste and ingredients. Ben went for a good old Calzone – Folded pizza filled with ham, mozzarella and tomato, made the traditional Italian way. The dough was perfectly folded and just thick enough that it was lovely and crispy on the outside and still soft on the inside. Fully packed with delicious ingredients, this Calzone did not disappoint, however it just beat him as he was so full. I tried it myself of course and agreed that it was really tasty. As well as the food going down extremely well, I loved the house red wine too – a Primitivo from the Apulia region, a really smooth wine. I am definitely going to get me a bottle of this for the weekend! 2 alcoholic drinks, 2 starters, 2 mains and some olives to start came to just under £60 which we thought was very reasonable and was superb value for money for the quality of food that we received. I think this restaurant would be somewhere great to go for a date or with the family for an occasion."

"I took my kids on Valentine’s Day to make them feel special. I’ve been to Caffe Mamma’s many times before but hadn’t been for a while. This time was hit and miss for me. I ordered chicken nuggets and chips for my son, but the nuggets were tough. He struggled a little with them, saying they were tough and dry. Our starters were nice. We ordered Calamari and prawns. Both lovely. When it came to main, I usually order pasta, but rather than going for my usual choice, I went for lasagne. I regretted it the moment it arrived. It was just full of tomato sauce. The waitress who took the dish back asked me what was wrong when she saw it wasn’t even barely touched. I told her it’s just drenched in tomato sauce, I could barely find any meat and just got stringy cheese and tomato sauce. I expressed I was disappointed with the dish. They did nothing. In the end, we ordered dessert which was ok. But when I paid the bill for £80, it left me feeling disappointed. I still kept a happy face for the kids but wished I’d booked the Chinese restaurant two doors down instead. I won’t be going back to Caffe Mamma’s after this visit."

"on Friday the sun is immersed here and we have tied a fished, we have a table fast as I think most people were stunned themselves. the retention point was approx. 3/4 full. the service was very fast our 2 fish chips came along with brotbutter with 2 pots tee, within 5/10 minutes. the fish was a great great part, not served their une tiddler or half portions at another place. I can't harm the food or the service. if I had 1 grübe it would have to be that the papdies brown sauce is served in a saucer with a spoon that I have the taste as it is served. I would rather have had a bottle hp brown sauce, they even have the bags of hp brown sauce next door in their takeaway chip shop."

"A small piece of Italy, but big portions, be careful! Beautiful atmosphere with seating and extra in the basement. Antipasti sections are good between 2. Melon spray is a big summer drink. Pizzas are big enough to share. So much choice in the menu. Try Pasta next visit. Service is pretty fast and friendly. Also many Italian products stacked high on the shelves around the restaurant.."

"The food was good and reasonably priced, and it was delivered promptly. However, the waitstaff took a long time to clear our used dishes and check if we wanted dessert. By the time they finally offered us dessert, I was already ready to leave. Other diners who arrived after us had finished their meals and paid their bills before we were even given the dessert menu. This was disappointing and detracted from what could have been a very pleasant experience."

"I must say I did enjoy the vibe of the place, unpretentious and unscripted, all while facing the green to remind you that you are still in London somewhat! Food offerings are more geared towards hearty than fine. Wine by the glass comes in one size! It' what you like no?? I would have loved to come back here around the 9:45-11 PM on a Friday Saturday to experience the place at its buzzy best ..."

"Is this part of the Al Forno chain or is it a franchise? If so it does not compare to the other Al Forno restaurants. Food was ok but presentation was poor. It was empty and the tables were dirty. Considering it was not busy service is minimal, the button to call works but this takes away from the experience there is no quality check and no up-selling took place. For that reason value for money is poor although not really expensive. A few people allowed of the street to sit and smoke not sure if anything was ordered this gives it a low end feel. Not as portrayed on your website."

"Wirtshaus in der Au was my favorite restaurant in Munich. It is one of the few restaurants in the city that remains open late."
"If you just want a quick bite before a theatre production then Limoncello is perfect. The Service was ok but lacked any interaction or warmth, it was literally brought and taken away plates. We asked for water, we were given warm tap water with no ice which was not the nicest tasting. We ordered a garlic bread with cheese that arrived resembling more like charcoal around the edges. It was completely burnt and obviously so. I was surprised that they would serve that. I did not complain but simply ate the middle bit and left the rest. The pizza I had was delicious. If like me, you like dessert, then I am afraid this is not the place for you. We asked for the dessert menu and were told flatly that they do not do dessert otherwise they would have offered a menu. With that, we paid and left feeling a little but short-changed. It was an experience but we will not be returning for another."

"Giusi for Mother's Day when we wanted to stay here. Small and cozy restaurant with a pleasant atmosphere. Service was friendly and efficient. However, food was mixed. Calamari Starter was rubbery and, at nine pounds, not cheap. Spaghetti Bolognese main was quite delicious, with good amount of meaty Bolognese. The calf liver was quite tasteless and sour, with a large amount of caramelized onions above to offer the taste. Mash was smooth. The desert consisted of a pizza with mussels and strawberries, which was delicious. No wine or alcohol, so not able to comment on it. The bill came to seventy five pounds, which we would have expected to pay in a much better restaurant. All in all, Giusi has all the ingredients of a beautiful restaurant, but just falls in quality, and very expensive for what it is. Think the pizza and pasta options are your best bet."

"Great pizzeria with real Italian vibe. It is always full which is a very good sign so try to get there early as possible. Pizzas are delicious and clay-oven baked so they have that typical Italian taste that fast food ones doesn't. The oven is at the back of the restaurant so you can actually see when the pizzas are taken out of it once ready. I have also had the Carpaccio di Manzo (raw filet slices), the Gamberoni Frittii (fried shimps with garlic) and the Linguini alle Vongole (pasta with tomato sauce and clams) and they were all delicious."

"The problem with This restaurant is there are no cabs in the area to take you home after dinner. The restaurant said there were lots of cabs right up the street but we waited for 30 minutes and didn’t see one. The bar around the corner also said there were never cabs in the area. We are from out of town and felt stranded. Fortunately we did get an uber. But clearly this is a neighborhood only restaurant."

"There was a large group of us, so we pre-ordered in advance. Unfortunately due to a bus breakdown, some of the parties were running late and the team were very helpful and understanding of the delay. They asked us when we were ready and we didn't go long without empty drinks in the meantime. The food was great, the staff were attentive and lovely and we were all happy with our food. Good vegan options as well, which doesn't go a-miss! Our main server was great too, I believe her name was Emma but I can't be sure. She was so helpful, kind and patient with our big group."
"authentic Italian restaurant that even aubergine in her pizza tastes delicious. I visited this restaurant twice for dinner after I inaugurated and the other time I had one. both of them were delicious. Personally I like these pizzas that you can eat with a fork and a knife and a good amount of cheese toppings and VIP pizza has delivered exactly the right one. I ordered vip burrata although it was delicious, but I felt the amount was less for two people. I also ordered a tiramisu that was a bit underwhelming, I tasted better tiramisu. the next day I ordered a simple tomato pata that was beautiful as they made home pasta. I also ordered something they called sandwich that was fine tasty, but difficult to eat."

"Went here for an impromptu dinner and was well looked after and given lovely food. We weren't too hungry, so didn't order too much. Pasta and Prawns and both were lovely. I glanced over at a Pizza someone was having and that looked nice too. I will be back and it is only a 5 minute walk from my place and crouch hill station- you should really go."

"Honestly, I must start off by saying how impressed I was with the quality of the vegetarian Chilli Freak pizza we ordered. It was arguably perfectly done with a delicious crust and tantalisingly good amounts of spice and heat — it’s just a shame with...what came before it. During a time of scrutiny where hygiene measures should be paramount within the food industry and takeaway kitchens, we were hugely disappointed to see staff at work not abiding by these guidelines, not wearing masks, beard nets, gloves and, terribly, handling meat without washing their hands before spreading vegetarian toppings. This is very, very poor and something I will write to Papa John’s directly about because (as pictured) zero attention or care is seemingly given to their customers behind the scenes. Not even wearing disposable gloves or masks with being so prevalent is something I find deeply unsettling. It’s therefore challenging for me to award Papa John’s in Brentwood anything more than two star. We also must address the costs of food on their menu. For solely a large pizza, you can be paying nearly GBP which is exorbitant! There is a distinct lack of friendly customer service and I imagine waiting times can be fairly long when the place is busy. So, all in all, whilst the pizza might have been delectable and makes formidable opposition when compared to a Pizza Hut order, behind the scenes there really is a great deal of work seemingly to be done. Quite dire hygiene it appears."

"For our starters, we ordered the seafood gratin and garlic bread with mozzarella from the Italian menu. My wife enjoyed the gratin, but the cheesy garlic bread, while tasty, didn’t justify its £7 price tag; it tasted like a slice from a standard supermarket loaf. For our main courses, we opted for dishes from the Turkish menu, which were excellent. The portion sizes were generous, and the meals offered good value for money. My wife had the Lamb Chops, and I tried the Mixed Shish, both of which we thoroughly enjoyed. The desserts were also pleasing, though it was odd that the dessert menu wasn’t available online like the main courses. We were glad to try the baklava selection, which offered a nice variety. Overall, we had a great experience and I would recommend this restaurant. I would definitely return if I’m in the area again. Thank you! "Superb food, friendly and speedy service. Very clean. I ate at the bar around the chef the first time nice to watch him work and at a table the second time. Both very clean. Loved it so much I went twice in one week after discovering it last Saturday. I can’t wait to go back. My husband had the spicy version and I had the original (both times, though with extra belly pork the second time). The belly pork melts in your mouth but surprisingly the broth is probably the stand out item thought it’s all delicious. Really nice loos."

"as a family, woman, son and friend. very efficient and friendly. the menu is somewhat limited, but we had appetizers that were considerable and very good. for main courses, a mixture of pasta, pizza and a chicken salad and bratkartoffeln. Some...something gloomy again, like the coffee. it is worth noting that it is unlicensed, but there are sainsbury’s, directly opposite and they are welcome to bring wein and the cafe delivers glasses. I am a fan, they can buy two decent bottles and it is much cheaper than a bottle of moderate wine in a restaurant."
