"Absolutely echo what everyone has said. Not had a Chinese take away for a long time, having had some bad experiences in the past, searched for the best Chinese in Derby and this was one that came up on the list. So had a punt. Definitely worth the effort. Ordered: Deep fried chicken with lemon sauce Spare ribs in BBQ sauce Stir fried king prawn in chilli garlic sauce Pork fried rice Plenty of food, really meaty prawns and plenty of them, good balance of chilli and garlic. Delivery was almost on the time stated but can't complain over 10 mins. Will I use again, yes I will. Thank you"

"Called up placed an order confirmed the name was Karen and spelt it as requested be ready 40 minutes great ,Daughter arrives conversation goes like this have you ordered answer yes name Karen response no order pardon answer you have not placed a order goes on for about 10 minutes whilst they continue to serve other takeaway customer collections. Then suddenly magic the order is at the counter so after an exchange of words order taken home and no surprise food was cold easy £29 pound in the bin. "We placed our order over the phone for two portions of Salt and Pepper King Prawns, Mushroom Foo Yung, and Roast Pork fried rice as we really enjoy this dish. When we arrived at the restaurant 10 minutes later, our order was already waiting for us. The Salt and Pepper King Prawns were the standout dish, with a delightful crispy texture and just the right amount of spice. Delicious!"

"I was hesitant to order from here again since my last experience, when it was still the Oriental Cafe, was terrible. However, I decided to give it another try today, and I can honestly say my faith has been restored! I ordered the sweet and sour king prawn Hong Kong style, and it was delightful—with plenty of fresh vegetables and generous amounts of prawns. The rice was also tasty. I will definitely order from here again. Service: Takeout Meal type: Dinner."

"We ordered this only because the Chippy next door was shut, but we were so glad we did in the end. We had salt and pepper chicken, mixed chow mein, pork fried rice, spring rolls, prawn toast, duck in black bean… Basically our usual order whenever we go for a Chinese. This is by far the best Chinese takeaway I have ever had (and I’ve had a lot…! . And everyone else agreed. If you are in the Selly Oak area, you definitely need to try this place. I will definitely return, next time I’m in Birmingham. Such a hidden gem that definitely deserves a reputation on Tripadvisor. This is now our go-to place."

"We 've just moved to the town. You and Me was closed tonight, so thought id try china chef. I so regret it. We had 2 types of chow mein, a rice dice and 2 types of chicken sweet and sour dishes. None of them tasted like they should and we threw the most of it in the bin. If we are not ill tomorrow i will be surprised. I am even more surprised that there was a queue when i walked in (usually a good sign on a sunday night). The 'chef ' who took my order was wearing a filthy apron, the place looks very tired and quite dirty and the manner of the service was quite rude. All a sign that there is little passion and a lack of pride in what they do. But my biggest compliant is that the food was simply disgusting and the worst takeaway i have ever eaten. AVOID"

"I have been going to this takeaway for over two years now and I cannot recommend it enough. The staff are lovely and polite. The waiting area is nice, clean and very welcoming. The portions are large and there is a nice selection of Vegetarian and tofu meals, which I am pleased to see and they taste amazing. The soya chicken and duck are high quality. I would recommend this takeaway. And once you have tried it I can guarantee you will be back."

"I cannot recommend China Moon Chinese takeout enough! We were a group of 30 at a hen party looking for a restaurant that would deliver, which proved to be a challenge in our local area. However, China Moon kindly offered to deliver due to our large group size. Their service and communication leading up to the event were excellent, with regular check-ins to ensure everything was in order. On the day of the event, we had some timing issues due to entertainment, but China Moon was extremely accommodating and flexible. The food was absolutely delicious, particularly the ribs - highly recommended! Despite the large order totaling around £450, everything arrived piping hot. Thank you so much for a fantastic experience - we only wish we lived closer so we could order again!"
