"The service is appalling. Waited over 1hr 40 mins for food with a 18 month old and a 3 year old. On booking even told wanted table back quickly which suited us then never served the food!! Had to leave as got too late served food in takeaway containers and still charged £80 and argued people want to be served slowly rather than simply apologising. On the food we took away with us was cold by time home and a criminal amount of salt on some dishes that was all could taste ended up binning it. Kid-friendliness Not even got a high chair this place is not somewhere to go with family that literally have no idea how to cater for families avoid. Would add toilets for a restaurant are a disgrace as well dirty and unhygienic."

"Visited this shop for the first time yesterday. The staff were all welcoming and friendly and the service was excellent. The service was very fast and the presentation of the food was extremely appealing. I ordered a fish and chips: not only was the food worthy for the price but the taste of the meal was tasty. The fish was crispy and fresh and the chips were delicious. I will definitely be visiting this shop again!"

"history of past peculiarities for 25 years. decided to give new owners an attempt. starters were ok. wonton dry, but maybe our fault, as we did not realize that she ordered separately sauce, mandy always included. singapur vermicelli was always so good by mandy, New...owners definitiw need a lection of simon in boil that and the fungal know-how mien. they really hope that they will improve the repairs they used to be. the bark king po was good. also the king prawn we ordered as an appetizer was very good. can try again in the future."

"Ordered a takeaway from Mayflower for the first time today. The owner and his wife were very kind and helped me pick dishes which would satisfy everyone's tastes waiting back home. I was staring at the menu for a wee while. The food kung po chicken, sweet and sour chicken balls, special fried rice, mini spring rolls and beef, black bean and pepper was delicious. "I Visited this take away on fri 21st April Apon entering this takeaway restaurant you are greated by a lovely lady who was very friendly and knowledgeable about what they sale. This is a small step up into the restaurant which may pose a issue for those with mobility issues. But when you do go through the front door you are met with a large waiting area which is clean and presentable, you also get a lovely smell that sets your taste buds tingerling. I ordered the mixed hors d'oeuvres, chicken chow mein, sweet and sour chicken balls and special fried rice. All for a little over £20 which is exceptionally well priced within the current climate of price rises. You can tell that the food is freshly cooked and when you taste the food it certainly confirms the freshness. The portion size where large and certainly left me very full. Overall I have to recommend this Chinese restaurant and I will definitely be going back again for more. And to the restaurant I thank you for a lovely meal."

"The lady who answered the phone was lovely, polite and efficient, she was able to accommodate us having small curry and sweet and sour sauces even though not specified on the menu. The food portions are small regarding chow mein and rice I would recommend spending the extra to get a large portion. Food came hot and fresh, the Bbq ribs the meat was tender flavoursome and falling of the bone. We ordered the King prawn curry and boiled rice, nice amount of prawns we asked for it spicy and it didn’t fail! I ordered the vegetable curry and rice, the spicy level was just right for me, I thought these dishes were going to come in one container they came separately( same as king prawn curry) , great value for money. I ordered one bag of prawn crackers we got two, was an added bonus for us-thank you! We definitely will be using this as our Chinese favourite from now on. I highly recommend you try them."

"I first moved into St.Just area in 2009 and found this takeaway, when I phoned them and asked if they use MGS I was told that they never use any MSG so I don't know what that reviewer in 2013 is talking about! I have bought meals from here on average about once a month for the last 11 years and not once have I been given sub-standard food, in fact I've had chineese takeaways from all over London, Surry and Berkshire and none of them were as good as the Red Star in St.Just. I will continue getting my takeaway from here for as long as I live in the area."

"waited 1 and half an hour for cold eating to supply I my ice cold not only cold hot. took cold eating back to the restaurant where I was told I would have microwave it worth eating £30 that I should warm. to myself. a freshly cooked order was offered in 10 minutes. I came home with my freshly cooked meal! to find it, the returned meal was only microshaft. After waiting for me to eat for 2 hours, I starved and just ate twice cooked, let us hope I won't get sick). after all this waiting around and rude service from the restaurant was eating absolutely disgusting bland soggy and tasteless. would never come back and warn that no one from here cannot order."

"Really tasty, standard UK Chinese food. We ordered heavy on the sweet sauces which was our mistake however everything was so tasty it was hard to regret it. Crispy shredded beef and lemon chicken deserve special mention, absolutely delicious, as well as the roast pork fried rice which was so tasty. Arrived within 25 minutes, not the 45 60 minutes we were expecting which was awesome.From some of the reviews it looks like a hate campaign is being waged against this restaurant, I understand complaints were made to the health department who found everything was as it should be and denied the complaint. We were recommended by a friend who lives locally and regularly orders, we would definitely order again, we'd just included some less sweet options ;"

Golden Bowl is a café takeaway towards the northern end of Fawcett Road that has a menu of Hong Kong Cantonese food alongside more Westernised fare. This place is small (around 25 covers) and no frills and is reminiscent of a café in Hong Kong – there is a ceiling fan and behind the counter, you’ll see a curtain that cordons off the kitchen and a TV playing Chinese channels."

"not great, visited as a family of 16 booked prior so was expecting us. Staff was very rude kept telling me she was too busy when i asked her for my child 's starter id paid for and was told someone else on my table must have eaten it (they didn 't). starter never came and was still charged for this, staff refused to believe she didn 't recieve this despite her not having it in front of her. We went the all you can eat sunday menu was never offered more food and asked for more mixed starter as my daughter and son was starving at this point and was made to look like an effort despite again paying for this service. Waited over half an hour for the mains after this and when asked they asked 'oh do you want your mains now ' we never asked for a break? all food was served 2 chips was forgotten, a portion of noodles and 4 portions of rice! they brought these out promptly when noticed then forgot my main beef in black bean. by the time this was recieved my sides was freezing and the beef was rock hard. We all gave up at this point as they wasn 't listening to the complaints. paid the bill of 260!!!! and left. Waste of money and awful service. wouldn 't recommend if in a huge group. Not very child friendly either."

"disappoint. my friend and I had just taken away our first since the move into the Camberwell area, and chose lamoon because it was close and had mostly good reviews. we were very disappointed at eating. we ordered chicken sweets for stater, who burned, and duck feather rolls that were with the sauce but bland on their own faust ok. our main dishes were the crispy, shredded bark, which was quite tasty, but no bark, only crispy crawling, and also the black canton style char siu could find. there was a lot of meat, but nothing else and there was no taste at all. for almost £30, I expected a lot more."

"no matter what everyone said. had not taken away a Chinese long time, had some bad experiences in pastness, looking for the best Chinese in derby and that was one that appeared on the list. so had a punt. destined the wall worth. ordered: deep fried chicken with lemon sauce saving ribs in BBQ sauce face fried king prawn in chili garlic sauce pork fried rice a lot of food, really meaty garnel and many of them, good balance of chili and garlic. the delivery was almost at the specified time, but can not complain over 10 minutes. I will use again, yes, I will."

"Wanted to charge me more than the price on the menu and was very unfriendly when I questioned it. Only a small amount but was the principle. Eventually was told it was for the bag but it was a munchie box and didn't have a bag, so was then told it was for the box!. Anyway, the main criticism is the food. Wanted a salt and pepper munchie box, all I got was food that must have had a full salt container poured all over it. Inedible! Trying to finish it off would have finished me off."

"Very happy with this fish and chips. It had 1 and a half fillets which is pretty great when you're knackered after a hike! A portion was £7.20 which is cheap compared to where I live in Edinburgh. "This is the first time we've had food from this takeaway. We were a bit unsure after reading some of the older reviews, but so glad we did! The food was not greasy, very tasty and still piping hot when we got home (a 10 minute drive away). We are foodies and only give good reviews that really deserve it too. However we will definately be returning, after a few years of searching for a decent Chinese takeaway, fingers crossed that we've found it. I will update after second visit. "We 've just moved to the town. You and Me was closed tonight, so thought id try china chef. I so regret it. We had 2 types of chow mein, a rice dice and 2 types of chicken sweet and sour dishes. None of them tasted like they should and we threw the most of it in the bin. If we are not ill tomorrow i will be surprised. I am even more surprised that there was a queue when i walked in (usually a good sign on a sunday night). The 'chef ' who took my order was wearing a filthy apron, the place looks very tired and quite dirty and the manner of the service was quite rude. All a sign that there is little passion and a lack of pride in what they do. But my biggest compliant is that the food was simply disgusting and the worst takeaway i have ever eaten. AVOID"

"By far the best tasting Chinese in our area! We’ve been to them all, including our home town Tywyn and I would absolutely, hands down, travel the 50 minute round trip every time to buy from The China Garden and we’ve been here 30+ times! Always tasty, always still hot despite the travelling, good quality chicken and other ingredients .. surprisingly still good value for money considering the current climate. Chicken chow mein and the garlic chicken and onions is just super yummy. If you’re visiting, you seriously won’t find a better Chinese takeaway for an hours drive around ..
