"A number of Chinese restaurants and cafés that serve authentic Chinese food have popped up in Portsmouth over the last few years. Most restaurants will now have a separate Chinese menu in addition to the standard menu. Golden Bowl is a café takeaway towards the northern end of Fawcett Road that has a menu of Hong Kong Cantonese food alongside more Westernised fare. Although very tiny restaurant, the food was great and were really generous with the portions that we had it as a take out. Also their honey, ginger tea is delicious.

Moved around the corner from here as a student and love this place! My partner and I have ordered from here many times and will do much more. Very pleasantly surprised by the king prawns in cheese sauce. Staff are very kind and friendly.

The Chinese lady that runs this place explained why it is so good. She started it so that Chinese people away from home, students and such, have a place to eat which is just like going home and having a home cooked meal from their mothers and fathers.
