"The pre-theater set menu at this restaurant was very good, but unfortunately, our friend arrived at 6:32 and was told it was no longer available. Instead, he had to order a la carte, which resulted in him only getting a soup before going elsewhere for a sandwich. It would have been more profitable for the restaurant to offer the set menu. This was not a good customer experience and hopefully they will improve in the future."

"Had afternoon tea here on Friday and honestly it’s really rubbish. The decor is so outdated and the room they serve the tea in is super small and confined so if you have claustrophobia do not go here. The afternoon tea itself was horrible. We were given three finger sandwiches that wouldn’t even fill up my 2 year old let alone a grown adult. The sweet treats were equally as awful. For £43 this is not worth it at all. The service was okay but like I said you’re in a room in the corner of the hotel and there isn’t any workers nearby. You have to get up and go to reception if you want service."

"For fish lovers, cured or fresh, an ideal choice. The must have starter is a platter of cured salmon in a variety of ways, large enough for two share. The turbot which followed was cooked to perfection. For carnivores some interesting dishes and to finish a voice of English favourites. The wine selection is British and ours was very good and inexpensive. The menu is not long but there is sufficient selection to go back and not repeat your choices. It was a relatively quiet evening but the staff were attentive and caring. We were a party of four and all of us enjoyed the evening."

"The food was excellent, and the service was wonderful and efficient. However, the live singer was a bit too loud, making it difficult to have a conversation."

"It happened late on a Sunday night. We were greeted by the minute we arrived and assured that they were more than happy to put us for food, even the service came to an end. The food was really good quality, fresh and boiled well prepared... the waitress was top drawing, pleasant and polite. We did not feel disappointed in any way the delay of the hour. A pleasant atmosphere with a beautiful transverse breeze from the open windows in the porch style. All in all this little jewel ended our evening beautifully. Thank you."

"A group of 4 of us went to DND for the first time. We found the bar quite intimate, but very dark. There were a couple of sizeable groups and we were sat fairly close to the bar. The drinks were ok, however, the service was slow to say the least. Despite 4 people being in and around the bar area is took 10 minutes to get anyone attention and this happened twice!! 20 mins lost in just getting someone’s attention. One of the staff members was quite friendly, while another seemed to find our presence as paying customers quite indifferent. Overall not an experience worth repeating."

"Disappointing. We've eaten at Bumpkin (Westfield Stratford) previously. It's one of the few places there at which there is a pleasant atmosphere, a comfortable environment, and where the background noise is low enough to allow conversation at normal speech level. The food is unexceptional, but usually good. We were not in any hurry, but on this occasion the service was very slow and, if I thought it likely to be as poor as it was, I would be disinclined to return. I also thought that the cost of our meal was high in relation to the quality."

"Great place for fast food. Milkshakes are ridiculously good. My only slight complaint is opening hours. We booked a table for 8.30, and they closed around 9, so while we were accommodated, everything felt very hurried. That said I should have checked the closing time before booking so that the complaint is not really with the venue itself. All in all, great value for freshly cooked food."

"The last time I ate in this building was over 25 years ago when the restaurant was Montmerencies. It was excellent so I decided to give the Flaming Cow a try. The menu options were very limited. My wife selected the half rack and wings combo and i went for a burger. The burger did not come with French fries but my wife’s choice did. As she is not a great lover of fries I didn’t order an extra portion to accompany my burger but did ask for a side of onion rings. Despite there being 3 types of ale on the menu the only one available was a 330 ml can of Camden Pale Ale at 6 pounds. I didn’t realise the price when ordering or I would have made do with water. My wife went for a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. There were only two wines available, the SB and a Malbec. The wine appeared to have been subjected to a reverse miracle, having been turned from wine into water. It was so weak that I am surprised it was allowed out without an accompanying nurse. The waitress returned to advise me that they were out of onion rings so did I want another side instead. I would have had a salad except the only one on the menu was a full main course chicken salad. I declined. When the food arrived my burger was ok but nothing special. The ribs on my wife’s meal were excellent, tasty and with the meat falling off the bones. The same could not be said of the wings. I know people have differing palates but I never thought that wings could be made inedible for me. The taste was of a concoction of chemicals that were never meant to be in the vicinity of food. We left and retired to the George, opposite, where I was able to enjoy a couple of pints of Guardsman at “only” 5 pounds a pint. This was my first and last visit to the Flaming Cow."

"Much as I love Italian food, I hadn 't known about the 'tigella '. It 's a small, round 'bun ', perfect for sandwiches and burgers and all sorts............. They are smallish, true and staff remind customers of that. I 'd imagine that a hungry person might order two and that 'd be great value for a main course. The ravioli with spinach was perfect, really delicate and full of flavour. Cocktails well, we 'd had a tough hour or two looking at art an excellent espresso martini, and a 'Hugo ' no, we had no idea either, so it was an experiment...........lovely, fresh and zingy. I think the habit of having black white, silent films on a huge screen is a bit cliched, and adds nothing to the provenance of the place. Maybe showing a [muted] Italian film La Dolce Vita? Staff are great. We 'll be back."

"haggis on a pizza?! they don't knock until they tried. and if they try it in edinburgh, they go to dough pizza for the particularly delicious and haggis-enhanced scozia pizza. this is not the first time I mentioned dough on the blog. but I thought the friendly little new town pizzeria deserved a mention in my haggis hunt series. back in autumn, when I was last in edinburgh, I was so glad that I passed on dough’s rose street outlet and had made his wood-fired pizza with seawater dough. the scozia (handmade passata, fior di latte, mcsweens haggis, stornaway black pudding, smoked pancetta, with a cracked egg...read more"

"I went for pre show dinner and found it very convenient nearby the Lowry. There are roadworks just outside the hotel at present so it didn’t look great from the outside, but the interior is fresh and modern. Very comfortable dining and really lovely staff. The tapas was tasty and beautifully served. It made a nice change from the eateries close by to the theatre and was only a 12 minute walk along the canals- which was also very pleasant! I would go again."

"I had a wonderful dining experience at this restaurant. The portions were decently sized and very tasty. The service was great, although there was a minor mishap with my dessert order not being communicated to the kitchen. However, they made up for it by giving me a complimentary drink. The food was delicious, the ambiance was authentic, and I will definitely be returning. My only suggestion would be to add some pasta dishes to the menu, but overall, I can't fault anything else."
"I want to love it, I really do, but, okay, let's get it back a little. my Italian bestie has moved sarf, yep, she left the perfectly good and accessible bethnal green to move over the river. to be fair, with a new born baby, I can't be mad at her and have visited the area for the second time, I dig the chilled village feeling of the opposite. it's great for a new mama and even quite attractive for someone looking for a new location to definitely move back to Mediterranean it's a native, friendly italians who talk to her as if she was an old friend. the food should be traditional Italian and very good. we started with aperol splash, the first time I ever had it. "I booked and received a call from manager asking if I could change to 8pm or 8.30pm. I agreed 8pm. We all arrived to be told there was no table available until much later! There is no where to sit and wait and we were obvisouly in the way. Everyone eating were having a great time and in no rush to finish. Greed allowed these over booking slots to happen. It was quite a dreadful dreadful experience. Since that evening, I have heard of three exact problems from either Midhurst or petersfield. Dreadful customer service and the staff were so embarrassed, the manager, well that’s another story! We left found a last minute place to eat which turned out to be amazing. I would not recommend purely on the greedy money raking company who failed to deliver and left 10 angry people out in the cold! I would not know what the food was like but had to leave a rating hence a midway choice."

"Used to be one of my favourite spots went there with my girlfriend last week, waited at the bar to be served, all bartenders didn’t bat an eye. 3 people came later and the bartenders served them one by one. I asked, “am I invisible” and the bartenders gave an attitude. Bartender finally asked what would I like but I refused to be served by such arrogant folks. Sent my girlfriend in to get drinks, she got served in no time. Begs the question, why didn’t I? Sort your staff out."
