"First of all, as a regular customer I always choose to sit in the booth. Our booking specified that we had a complimentary Prosecco and booth seat upon reservation. We did not get the booth seats however it did not bother us and we just sat were the hostess accommodated us. After ordering our food, I also asked if they had a portion of fries. The waitress had told me they do sweet potatoes fries and hakasara fries , I ordered the hakasara fries after she told me they were regular french fries with mayo sauce, which I assumed to he sirachi mayo sauce. I also made it clear that I’m vegetarian after she asked if we had an allergy concerns. After eating all our food and the fries, I ordered another portion of the same fries and more sushi. I then proceeded to ask a man who looked like the manager , what was in the sauce as I had never tasted something like that. He then told me it’s fish mayo sauce. I was absolutely furious, as somebody who has not eaten meat and fish for years, it had made me sick to my guy and I had then lost my appetite and mood. Although they apologised, and I appreciate it I believe what the waitress did was careless and not excusable in certain circumstances , considering somebody may have a very severe allergy to fish , unlike in my situation , and would have ended up in hospital. More precautions should be taken to ensure customers know what they are eating, considering the menu is very vague and does not specify. Very disappointed."

"We popped in on a Sunday after some shopping. Coffee shops in the area were packed, no tables busy but we needed a respite after some shopping with our 11 month old baby. We stood at the door waiting to be seated which felt like an eternity. When we got in with our baby who was sleeping in the pram we were told that there was nowhere to pop the pram while he was sleeping but he could be popped in a highchair no problem at all. No checking how old he was etc (he was under his rain over not visible) what if I needed to breastfeed once he woke up? Or if he was a newborn the parents just wanted a bite to eat? There was adequate space for a pushchair, fancy turning away a family with a sleeping child. While I completely understand that you don’t wish to place a child next to friends couples dining out it’s a little unfair to turn away people on the basis of what are your restaurant regulations or whatever you want to call it do what’s morally right surely? Anyway the host was lucky our child decided to wake up at that moment because we were about to walk away considering the rather unwelcome greeting. We were hungry. Once we were seated it was all great from there. They managed to get a £50 lunch out of us! Myself my partner had black blue burgers which were cooked lovely came out within 10 mins of ordering. Our waitress was really lovely very friendly toward us smiley at our baby. Our baby had fish goujons with veggies fruit chocolate pot for dessert. He thoroughly enjoyed it. The highchair was a bit low for such a small baby so would be better if they got some with trays to avoid mess help out baby eat be more supported but he was excited either way. The high hairs were definitely more suitable to toddlers as opposed to infants. Generally a friendly service once we were there felt full satisfied so thank you to the lovely waitress for changing our experience. Just a quick fyi to the restaurant in general not all babies are loud cry. If your younger clientele aren’t happy with children in the middle of the day then maybe they shouldn’t be popping into a family restaurant?"

"I rarely leave negative reviews, only positiw, because I don't think it's very nice, but at this occasion I leave this out of the only reason of warning others. my partner and I came to giraffe after I see some really nice looking options on...her menu online. I will actually try to be about the very negative experience we had tonight. I tried to order the fish and chips, they had none. I understand it. I then ordered their Tofu-Curry and immediately asked if it could be done without wobble, and was told by the waitress “I don’t know, but I will ask for them and if it can not be done without, I will come and tell them”. I took her to her literal words and one thing later came to eat, so I suspected there was no wobbles. when I found out how to swirl in my meal, I told the waitress and immediately she said, "They should have told me if they were allergic." I said, “I am not, but I am quite indecent to why I asked for it without, and they told me that they would tell me if it was a problem,” she repeated, “You should have told me. you have to tell me. I don't know if they care about it. you should have told me that I thought you just didn't like her.” when I repeated that I could state that I didn't want her and I didn't know that I had to state why it should be taken seriously, she just repeated the same argument and finally said, "if they want, I can change it for something else," I quickly ordered something else. I didn't get an apology from her, just what felt like repeated guilt, instead of taking responsibility for her mistake, not to inform me how she had assured me that she would. 15 minutes later I waited for my alternative meal to arrive while my man his, and the manager (I think I came over. I assumed it was supposed to apologize, but it was that it – first, repeated doing the same as her colleague had done, what was to say, I had to say that I was intolerance. this has now become a embarrassing and unpleasant situation. when I explained that the thing was the fact that the waitress said she would do something she had not done, and then had accused me instead of just saying, I'm sorry and that they can't control when most dishes cooked with wobble or not. that was not a problem as such – I just wanted to be told and I would not have ordered it. Anyway, she offered me an alternative food, and in this phase, while my man is now sitting with an empty dish and I feel thoroughly said I was no longer hungry and so simply asked to go. she said the meal of my man would be on the house what I thought was a decent thing to do. we thank her and then went. on the way, the waitress I had experienced as unprofessional stood at the door. we don't want to come back."
