"This restaurant was lovely, however, I did not give it a perfect rating due to a slight issue on my birthday. When we arrived, the restaurant was not busy but we were seated in a dark area by a wall. It felt like we were simply placed there by the first server we encountered. After requesting to move, we were asked if we had a reservation, which we quickly made. It was only after checking the system that they opened up a nicer area at the back of the restaurant for us. The restaurant never got very busy, so I was confused as to why we were not initially offered a better table. Despite this initial disappointment, the food and service from another waitress ultimately saved the experience and made it a wonderful way to end my birthday celebration."

"it seemed as though margate was still firmly attached to board and was locked for the winter when we visited a sunny day of February from london before some weeks ago. so it was a bit about finding somewhere that a bit more tasty...as bog standard fish and chips on the empty beach or greasy kebab from the takeouts, the marine parade. we tried the caffe in turner contemporary, but it has not been called. we came to the happiness about the cozy little cafe called "the greedy cow cafe" on the small market place in the old town, opposite the margate museum. the caffe is located in one of the quirky old buildings of the old city. the building is a bit old-worldly wondered. the interior decor is decided vintage, quite shameful chic, but very clean and very appealing, especially for the arty-farty quantity. we were warmly welcomed and have made our way to the small dining room above, already filled with diners. the seats are located on the tables in the trestle style; we had a great place on the window with views of the small square and the museum. the only seat in the ground floor is located outside the small square. it's the food that grabs a hit here. the lunch menu is kreatiw, innovatiw and really interesting. everything speaks of taste and freshness; everything pays attention to detail and attention. it's far from the usual farewell here. there is a good selection of dresses, including burger, and an extensive menu for children. there is also a rather exotic breakfast card. no “Full English” here; think “Banana and pistachio Toastie” or “Bacon and guacamole Bun”. there are many options for vegans. our meals were the falafel and the beetroot hummus and the pulled pork. both were delicious. the spiced criminal falcon was accompanied by rose water urissa, beetroot hummus, and a tomato bevel and gurkensalat on a bed of couscous; it was served with the liders of the sourdough. the pulled pork dish was a roasted brioche book with juicy roasted shoulder of pork, dressed with homemade BBQ sauce and a celery tail. we enjoyed our meal very much. the portions were abundant. AtWe’ve certainly put it on our radar, and will see again as soon as the possibilities allow."

"Went there tonight for the first time very clean restaurant but it was so cold in there the food went cold before we could it all the tables were marble and very cold no table cloths there was nothing to keep the food warm at all plates were to small for the food wSasnice but the chicken in my curry and the wife's chicken must have been bought sliced and it definitely was not grilled chicken it is a nice axe but in my opinion and the others with me the hVe got it wrong the definitely need to improve on the way they serve the food how to keep it warm and put some heating on I'm afraid I won't be going again it's also very over priced sorry because the staff were very nice"

"It was a lovely restaurant. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars all round is because it was my birthday and when we went in the restaurant was not busy but they place us in a dark area of the restaurant. In the middle by a wall which felt like we we were dumped there by the first young girl that served us. We asked to move and was asked if we have a booking. I said yes and quickly booked a table. When they checked the system only then did they open the whole back of the restaurant and put us in a decent area where it was more scenic. The restaurant never got busy so I don't understand why we were not initially offered a decent table. The food and the young lady(different) that served us now is what saved the experience and made it a lovely end to my birthday."

"Afternoon tea booked as part of a colleagues baby shower booked several weeks before event and notified of one gluten free tea, reassured this wasn’t a problem. On the day lettuce tomatoe and cucumber sandwich’s and wafer this turkey. Served in gf bread...cut in half on a small plate. chocolate gluten free muffins also put in front of me. These were warm and wet in the middle with a very dry exterior. I tried a mouthful and left the rest. No tea served we were told this hadn’t been booked. That was it for I spent a further on g&t,s served in large glass with ice cubes and nothing else. Emailed manager next day and received unsatisfactory explanation and heard nothing since. Rest of party NOT impressed with their afternoon tea-less tea either. Will not visit again or recommend visit at your peril. We just felt utterly ripped off and then some!"

Their Sunday dinners are excellent, their servers are well drilled in customer service, their bar manager has exceptional knowledge in cellar management and overall, the general management of this restaurant is better than most other managed houses. "We had a fantastic evening at The Forge in Derby! Both of our children, aged 10 and 14, really enjoyed it. As a BBQ and meat enthusiast, I absolutely loved it! "Poor burger, made incorrectly the first time. Took so long to get me the correct burger and in all truth I've had better burgers from my local takeaway (which cost considerably less). I would love to recommend this place but me and my friends where put in a corner and treated like we shouldn't be there and charged extortionate money for lackluster food. Plus you don't get fries with your burger which is poor then you are charged £3+ for a small cold portion.PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE. YOU WOULD BE BETTER OFF AT MCDONALDS!"

"We had a delightful evening thanks to the exceptionally friendly and humorous service at this restaurant. The original menus were impressive, starting with an asparagus soup topped with duck breast discs. The delicate calf bags with a perfectly balanced celery and fennel mixture were a highlight. "I should note that I have not dined in at Bad Egg before. Instead, my friends and I decided to order take-out through Deliveroo. Despite this unconventional choice, we still had the opportunity to try their food, so it still counts, right? I ordered the Cheeseburger Hash and a Dulce de Leche milkshake, while my friends tried a variety of dishes including the Bad Egg Burger, Korean Pulled Pork Burger, Chilaquiles, Chicken and Anchovy Salad, Fried Chicken Burger, and the Cheeseburger. Essentially, we tried almost 90% of the menu. My Cheeseburger Hash was a generous portion filled with pickles, mustard, burger pieces, and topped with cheese and a fried egg. I thoroughly enjoyed it, but it was too much for me to finish on my own, so my friends helped out. Overall, we had a great experience."

"What a gem! My husband and kids (ages 9 and almost 3) and I were unsure where to eat, and didn't walk to walk far from our hotel we'd already had a very busy day! And so we chose Charlie Brown's Diner for dinner. And boy are we glad we did! We were a walk in and were thankful to get a table, although there was only one other group there at the time, around 6 pm. It did fill up but it wasn't overly noisy or anything. It was perfect from start to finish, with really quirky Americana decorations throughout, and an American style menu. The food was FANTASTIC, portion sizes were HUGE so be aware if you're ordering a children's meal and you have two kids, there's plenty of them to share and just order 1 meal children's meal! The kids' meals were as big as the adult meals. We had the cheesy garlic bread and cheeseburgers and they were all just amazing, we couldn't finish it all! Staff were friendly and the price was amazing."
