"Came with big family party for my birthday. Extremely disappointed, starters were ok but all came at different times, had to ask a waitress where one was as everyone else had finished theirs and she just looked absolutely clueless as to why we were talking to her. New waiter didn’t even know what dishes he was bringing out and looked at us to answer for him, fair enough he’s new but come on, train your staff the basics. Didn’t get free bottle of wine even though we ordered tapas. One blonde girl walking around just playing with her hair and we didn’t understand the point in her being there, she didn’t do a thing all night, she just looked like she’d got lost. We didn’t get asked if we wanted a drink the whole night, had to keep asking where our mains were, an hour and 45 minutes later they arrived and my ‘jerk’ chicken burger was so bad, the bread sopping wet and falling to bits and the chicken was just plain chicken breast with none of the **** cut off it and slightly seasoned. the ‘manager’ said this was cause the chef had put ‘loads of sauce on it’ but there was no sauce at all, bone dry chicken, didn’t put any spicy sauce in like I asked and when I requested it they brought me a squeezey bottle to do it myself. Cajun chips came plain and when we told them they just sprinkled some Cajun seasoning just on the top, meat was all fatty and sparse on the bbq combo dish, boneless chicken wings were just chicken tenders!!?? The ribs had no meat on at all literally just bone, curry was cold and plain with no flavour to it at all. Everything bang average, staff unbelievably immature, very badly trained with no customer service skills or communication skills. The managers response when we told him all this was ‘I can only apologise’ so we had to request for money to be knocked off our bill, which they did- fair enough but we had to really push for this. Feels like they hire very young staff and don’t bother training them. Honestly a very, very poor experience and would never go back or recommend to anyone. Don’t ignore the bad reviews they’re all very accurate. The only member of staff I appreciated tonight was the girl with the dark hair who first took our order, she was the only one with any customer service skill or any sense."

"came here with my friend for a catch up as heard this place was good. Place was absolutely dead so didn't have high hopes however the server was so lovely and catering. I ordered the fat pig burger which had pulled pork in it and it was amazing- best burger ever. I also had the chilli beef loaded fries which were yummy too and the showstopper for me was the onion rings- they were fab. Portion sizes are huge so will keep this in mind for my next visit. totally recommend and not bad priced also"

"We recently dined at Newcastle Bloom and had a fantastic experience. It's a great spot for a girls' lunch with very attentive staff. I must mention the chef, as his creations were superb and the food was excellent. The only downside was that smokers tend to congregate near the door, which draws the smell back inside. Despite this, I highly recommend this place to everyone. We'll definitely be returning soon!"

"So so disappointed with dinner here last night. Dined here 13th July and a few months before that. Food was exceptional. Dined yesterday with my 3 sisters for a birthday celebration. I had my usual chicken goujons and they were only small crispy ends with almost no chicken. One sister had the roast Turkey and ham mostly stuffing with some vegetables which were practically unrecognisable. Another sister had haddock which was overcooked. The waiter mistakenly took the wrong order for the 4th sister and she was served salmon with roast potatoes which were obviously reheated she had asked for chips. Again, it was hard to decipher what the veg was. We were very very disappointed. Desserts were lovely. Service was good waiter kept telling us that he’d report all back to the chef. It was so bad, the waiter removed the price of our teas. So so disappointed."

"I made a reservation at this restaurant for Father's Day and I am so happy that I did. It was easy to find parking outside, the decor was lovely, and we were seated at a nice table by the window. Our waitress, Beth, was outstanding. She made us feel very welcome and provided excellent service. We had a wonderful time at Joe's Kitchen. The food was delicious with a variety of options to choose from. The atmosphere was cozy and beautifully decorated. Beth was so friendly and engaged in conversations and laughter with our table. She is exceptional at her job and we all had a fantastic celebratory meal thanks to Beth and the rest of the team. I would definitely come back to this restaurant and recommend it to my colleagues, family, and friends."

"We landed here as the Herbarium was unfortunately closed for the day and the Alex looked permanently closed. There was only one other table with diners, but we had to wait a while to get seated. Had a vegan Brewdog IPA which was really nice then chose the vegan chilli hotdog with chips. Hubby had the pulled jackfruit sandwich, both ok, not the worst vegan meal I’ve had in a pub. There was also 5 bean chilli, a vegan dog (no chilli) and a falafel and spinach burger."

"Booked table for 5. When we arrived offered table for 4 with seat placed on end. Declined this table told proper table would be available 20 minutes later. Went for drink in the Back Bar. Returned 30 minutes later and shown to suitable table. Drinks took long time to arrive. Starters average and lacked flavour. Fries over salted and they were changed. The food is lacking in flavour and service is variable. Declined to pay service charge (which I normally do). The Menu is lacking choice and expensive. Time the for the Hard Rock upped their game."

"Unfortunately the “go to smokehouse” “worth the drive out for” has gone downhill massively. Service was poor, the food turned up before the drinks as they had been forgotten about. The food was VERY small portions , underwhelming considering the prices and very poor compared to previous visits that were exceptional. I was genuinely embarrassed as I had recommended to a friend who drove out of Exeter to visit P&p with me, I even apologised to them after the meal!! We didn’t complain to the waitress as we had eaten all the food in front of us, but in all honesty there was very little! It’s also easy to say “it can’t have been that bad you are it all”. It wasn’t “bad food” it just wasn’t great food, or anything special like it had been on previous visits. For what it was, it was overpriced compared to other similar places like HUBBOX. "The food was of excellent quality, the staff was friendly, and it was welcoming to dogs. While it wasn't the cheapest option, we found the prices to be reasonable for the value we received, and we had a great time during our visit. "Food: Burgers are great. Soft brioche bun and the patty was juicy and succulent (cooked medium rare unless specified). Skin on fries were crispy. Milkshakes were equally as great and very moreish. The chilli beef was ok, wasn’t quite to my liking Atmosphere: Fine. Service: Having visited a few times, I agree with other reviewers the service can be up/down. They are very specific about seating so even if it’s past the busy lunch period and the diner is not busy, you can only sit on certain tables. I placed my bag on the seat next to me (there were only 2 couples at the time, it was past lunch hour and 80% of diner was empty) and I was told that I could not place my bag there as table was for other customers in quite a blunt and rude manner by the mature lady in brown hair. I told her that I would happily move it if other customers were coming. She didn’t seem at all happy. The same lady also spoke to another customer in a rather blunt and rude manner regarding the offer that was displayed on the blackboard outside. Suggestions for improvement: No issues with the food. More training for staff in delivering great customer service and being open about the lunch offer. The food is great but it’s a real shame this particular waitress lets down the service and the reason I won’t be rushing back, particularly as there are many burger places around."

"on the arrival was our table not ready for the 5,30 booking we made. at the end of dinner we felt very hastily, there was a card on the table saying we could have the table on 8pm, but at 7.20 we were asked to leave the table, I have no problem with how I know it takes time to have the table ready for the next guests, but if we had to wait after 5.30 until our table was ready, there was a sour taste."

"I was reluctant to give only 4 Stars for the service, as I have a disability and the staff very kindly allowed me to sit at a larger table despite being on my own. However, the service was slow and I did notice other customers getting annoyed (and they were not packed out or anything). Perhaps it was only for that day. The food itself was delicious. I had the Punisher MK2 and it was honestly one of the best burgers I have ever tasted. The banana and peanut butter milkshake was also great."

While there are a few changes that could help improve their business, I would still rate it a perfect 10 out of 10. The fact that there’s no football on is a big plus for me. "Stumbled across the tap room between a pre-drink cocktail and our dinner reservation. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly, offering a couple of tries of the vast number of beers they had on tap. Settled on a rum cask beer (delicious) while the other half...was very happy with a cocktail. Only thing that dulled this visit was the lack of table space, but the staff were happy for us to stay at the bar and enjoy our drinks. Noting this was a Thursday around 8pm, I imagine it is a very popular location so would recommend booking if you want a seat. Otherwise, a great find that I would recommend!"
