"Came with big family party for my birthday. Extremely disappointed, starters were ok but all came at different times, had to ask a waitress where one was as everyone else had finished theirs and she just looked absolutely clueless as to why we were talking to her. New waiter didn’t even know what dishes he was bringing out and looked at us to answer for him, fair enough he’s new but come on, train your staff the basics. Didn’t get free bottle of wine even though we ordered tapas. One blonde girl walking around just playing with her hair and we didn’t understand the point in her being there, she didn’t do a thing all night, she just looked like she’d got lost. We didn’t get asked if we wanted a drink the whole night, had to keep asking where our mains were, an hour and 45 minutes later they arrived and my ‘jerk’ chicken burger was so bad, the bread sopping wet and falling to bits and the chicken was just plain chicken breast with none of the **** cut off it and slightly seasoned. the ‘manager’ said this was cause the chef had put ‘loads of sauce on it’ but there was no sauce at all, bone dry chicken, didn’t put any spicy sauce in like I asked and when I requested it they brought me a squeezey bottle to do it myself. Cajun chips came plain and when we told them they just sprinkled some Cajun seasoning just on the top, meat was all fatty and sparse on the bbq combo dish, boneless chicken wings were just chicken tenders!!?? The ribs had no meat on at all literally just bone, curry was cold and plain with no flavour to it at all. Everything bang average, staff unbelievably immature, very badly trained with no customer service skills or communication skills. The managers response when we told him all this was ‘I can only apologise’ so we had to request for money to be knocked off our bill, which they did- fair enough but we had to really push for this. Feels like they hire very young staff and don’t bother training them. Honestly a very, very poor experience and would never go back or recommend to anyone. Don’t ignore the bad reviews they’re all very accurate. The only member of staff I appreciated tonight was the girl with the dark hair who first took our order, she was the only one with any customer service skill or any sense."

"We were disappointed to find that breakfast wasn't available, so we decided to order a simple meal of ham, egg, and chips. After waiting 30 minutes without any sign of our food, we asked about our order, and suddenly, our meals appeared as if by magic. Unfortunately, they had been sitting under a heat lamp for a while, resulting in a rubbery, cartoonish appearance. The ham was just a warmed-up slice from a package, reminiscent of the cheapest fare usually served at children's parties."

"We recently dined at Newcastle Bloom and had a fantastic experience. It's a great spot for a girls' lunch with very attentive staff. I must mention the chef, as his creations were superb and the food was excellent. The only downside was that smokers tend to congregate near the door, which draws the smell back inside. Despite this, I highly recommend this place to everyone. We'll definitely be returning soon!"

"Our experience at this restaurant was not great and only got worse. Upon arrival, they did not have our reservation, but the restaurant was not busy so it should have been fine. However, we were made to feel like an inconvenience. It took a long time for our drinks to arrive and even longer for our food, with one meal missing altogether. There was not much of an apology for the mistake, and we had to flag down a staff member to let them know. After waiting another 20 minutes, we had to inquire about the missing meal because we couldn't get anyone's attention. We asked for tap water that never came and had to flag down a server for more drinks. When the second round of drinks arrived, the order was incorrect. The food was decent and the drinks were good, but despite booking a table for two, we did not leave until 3:30 due to slow service. We had only intended to have a quick lunch before needing to be elsewhere. It is unfortunate, as the restaurant is nice, but there appears to be a serious issue with training, staff morale, or both. We would not recommend this place. There are better options for cheaper where your custom may be appreciated more."

"Amazing service from the get-go My partner has an illness that can cause severe nausea with no warning. It happened this evening, and the staff were unbelievably understanding. Even before this, the service was faultless tbf. "I made a reservation at this restaurant for Father's Day and I am so happy that I did. It was easy to find parking outside, the decor was lovely, and we were seated at a nice table by the window. Our waitress, Beth, was outstanding. She made us feel very welcome and provided excellent service. We had a wonderful time at Joe's Kitchen. The food was delicious with a variety of options to choose from. The atmosphere was cozy and beautifully decorated. Beth was so friendly and engaged in conversations and laughter with our table. She is exceptional at her job and we all had a fantastic celebratory meal thanks to Beth and the rest of the team. I would definitely come back to this restaurant and recommend it to my colleagues, family, and friends."

"came here with my friend for a catch up as heard this place was good. Place was absolutely dead so didn't have high hopes however the server was so lovely and catering. I ordered the fat pig burger which had pulled pork in it and it was amazing- best burger ever. I also had the chilli beef loaded fries which were yummy too and the showstopper for me was the onion rings- they were fab. Portion sizes are huge so will keep this in mind for my next visit. totally recommend and not bad priced also"

"While visiting London from Northern New York (USA), I stopped by here for lunch. The place was fairly empty, but the staff was friendly and inviting, and I was seated at a hightop near the bar. I asked for a 'bitter ', which confused the bartender but when asked for a recommendation, he referred me to a local craft brewed ale, which was quite good. The menu is based around BBQ (Tennessee style) and the decor is sort of wild west saloon type. I ordered the BBQ chopped pork sandwich with fries (as an extra). The fries were perfectly cooked, and had some sort of powder on them, maybe a light curry? The sandwich was OK and there was a lot of chopped pork on it as well as some sort of cabbage or slaw. There wasn 't any sort of smoked taste or sauce that I can really taste, but overall it was a nice sandwich, even if it didn 't really taste like BBQ to me. Overall, nice place with nice service."

"Booked table for 5. When we arrived offered table for 4 with seat placed on end. Declined this table told proper table would be available 20 minutes later. Went for drink in the Back Bar. Returned 30 minutes later and shown to suitable table. Drinks took long time to arrive. Starters average and lacked flavour. Fries over salted and they were changed. The food is lacking in flavour and service is variable. Declined to pay service charge (which I normally do). The Menu is lacking choice and expensive. Time the for the Hard Rock upped their game."

"I had been excited for weeks to visit red dog saloon as I have visited before and the chicken was good. We went on a Saturday evening and firstly it was very busy. We had booked a table so we’re seated after a short wait. Service was slow but it was busy. We ordered two main dishes (both chicken), a side of burnt end mash and a side of nachos. The chicken was very good. Plentiful in portion size and great flavour. This was the highlight of the meal. The mash was one of the most atrocious portions of mash I have ever laid eyes on. Swimming in what could only be described as fat rather than gravy. No taste other than fat and mash of such questionable consistency it didn’t appear there most of the time. This needs removing from the menu or changing asap! Scandalous presentation for £7.50. Nachos were stale and disappointing. No salsa and cheese on them also had no flavour. Not great for the £10.50 we paid for them. Service continued to slow the longer we stayed to the point where our plates were not cleared after our meal. Servers were often clearing tables that were empty rather than attending customers still at the restaurant (who may continue to spend money on drinks or desserts) or were talking amongst each other. We sat staring at the cold congealed mess of mashy fat before getting up, asked to pay with a server and left. Left disappointed as they had been great on previous visits. Sadly lost a customer here."

"Food: Burgers are great. Soft brioche bun and the patty was juicy and succulent (cooked medium rare unless specified). Skin on fries were crispy. Milkshakes were equally as great and very moreish. The chilli beef was ok, wasn’t quite to my liking Atmosphere: Fine. Service: Having visited a few times, I agree with other reviewers the service can be up/down. They are very specific about seating so even if it’s past the busy lunch period and the diner is not busy, you can only sit on certain tables. I placed my bag on the seat next to me (there were only 2 couples at the time, it was past lunch hour and 80% of diner was empty) and I was told that I could not place my bag there as table was for other customers in quite a blunt and rude manner by the mature lady in brown hair. I told her that I would happily move it if other customers were coming. She didn’t seem at all happy. The same lady also spoke to another customer in a rather blunt and rude manner regarding the offer that was displayed on the blackboard outside. Suggestions for improvement: No issues with the food. More training for staff in delivering great customer service and being open about the lunch offer. The food is great but it’s a real shame this particular waitress lets down the service and the reason I won’t be rushing back, particularly as there are many burger places around."

"Stopped here for lunch last Saturday. Mainly to take a break from the shopping. It was very busy when we arrived and we hadn't booked a table, that being said we were invited to sit at the bar and have a drink while we waited. Once we had a table we of course checked the menu. There was plenty to chose from, even for my vegetarian daughter. Have to say the staff were very friendly and efficient. We ordered starters and mains and the food arrived quickly enough, so no real complaints. Everything ordered was well cooked and looked good. In fact the lunch was good but it wasn't really anything spectacular, considering the price. All in all it was a decent lunch but plenty of other options to choose from."

"My family has been visiting this hotel for many years, and it’s been wonderful to see its transformation in recent years. The food in both the restaurant and the lobby lounge is excellent, and the staff is very attentive. The renovations are elegantly done. The balcony bar upstairs is a fantastic addition and the perfect spot to watch football with a pint or to catch up with friends. I recently attended a tipsy tea party and was pleasantly surprised by how delightful it was; there was more food than I expected, and the hot dishes that accompanied it made everything even more delicious. A big thank you to the owners for revitalizing the hotel; we will definitely be back!"

"I was reluctant to give only 4 Stars for the service, as I have a disability and the staff very kindly allowed me to sit at a larger table despite being on my own. However, the service was slow and I did notice other customers getting annoyed (and they were not packed out or anything). Perhaps it was only for that day. The food itself was delicious. I had the Punisher MK2 and it was honestly one of the best burgers I have ever tasted. The banana and peanut butter milkshake was also great."

"Unfortunately the “go to smokehouse” “worth the drive out for” has gone downhill massively. Service was poor, the food turned up before the drinks as they had been forgotten about. The food was VERY small portions , underwhelming considering the prices and very poor compared to previous visits that were exceptional. I was genuinely embarrassed as I had recommended to a friend who drove out of Exeter to visit P&p with me, I even apologised to them after the meal!! We didn’t complain to the waitress as we had eaten all the food in front of us, but in all honesty there was very little! It’s also easy to say “it can’t have been that bad you are it all”. It wasn’t “bad food” it just wasn’t great food, or anything special like it had been on previous visits. For what it was, it was overpriced compared to other similar places like HUBBOX.
