"Visited at the weekend for a family lunch. Beautiful garden, very well kept and clean. The staff were superb and very helpful. Food was absolutely amazing, we had a sharing chicken kebab, succulent, juicy chicken with a really lovely taste, its amazing! We also had the fish and chips, crispy batter and really good chips, the kids had pizzas and said that they were the best pizzas ever. A big plus was the kids play area and the ice cream cart selling delicious Italian ice creams. Can't wait to return."

"Finally tried cote and after much promotions by so many people the place did not let itself down. Very nice place with lovely and friendly staff. Visited it on my birthday and it was special. We all went for the fixed menu and I must say the food was quality and very reasonable pricing. Had a glass of Malbec which complimented my meal. I will surely visit again. Thank you once again."

"Really lovely find. Always been put off due to not liking Cafe Rouge that used to be situated in this building, which was wrong of us. Yes it's a chain but the staff are impeccable in both appearance and service. The tables are set up lovely, the menu is the perfect size, enough choice without making you think its all microwave and fryer friendly. The prices are suitable for everyone, yes you can spend a lot but you can also leave with a very reasonably priced meal, same with wine prices. The food was presented really nicely, some thought has gone in without being silly. The food was tasty and hot. The toilets smelt amazing and generally the whole place is very clean and well presented. We enjoyed a pre theatre meal without kids but I'd happily take the kids and we'll definitely visit again. The fish ate for a main was very tasty and filling."

"I booked a cote for birthday dinner with my partner. I asked that we be placed on a table on a side, unfortunately this was not noticed, and we were told that the restaurant was “very busy” although in the position to see several continuously empty tables for the duration of our visit. we were put on a table near the beginning, which meant that every time the door opened my partner, I was hit by a cold wind gust, this ultimately leads to our eating cold quite a bit more unpleasant visit. the food was okay, I ordered the hunch was nice, but I didn't get the sosse to eat it halfway through, my partner ordered a steak medium, but it was rarely delivered. If it wasn't for all Miss-Haps, I'm sure it was a nice place to eat."

"I enjoyed the food, the waiter was good, attentive but not over the top. Why then have I marked it as average? It always comes down to the staff doesn’t it. The manager weirdly decided to ridicule me as I asked for ketchup to go with my fish and chips ok it did have a sauce for the fish But, does the manager really have to ridicule me to the waitress for no apparent reason for this french faux pas? !! Does the manager know that I am undergoing chemotherapy treatment and my taste buds are shot to pieces so a bit of ketchup on my chips why not??? Does the manager know how disturbed embarrassed I was by this ridicule to be fair I don’t think the Waitress was bothered. But just to make him look big to her with his superior palate to a chemo patient? why why why? Think before you do this we are a stones throw from the royal free. And actually I asked the waiter if it was ok to hang about a bit as my clinic isn’t for another hour I am drinking a coffee. But now I feel I’d prefer to walk the streets in the rain rather than sit and be ridiculed"

"Sadly this was a non starter. Very disappointing for Cote! 1pm lunch booking, they had run out of kids burgers and adult mussels! No sparkling water due to ongoing supply issue. Chicken dish cannot be amended to dietary requirements. We had to look for a plan B. They didn’t even try to keep us, they had nothing to offer."

"for lunch in the city and it took us a little longer than expected. but with good quality eating and friendly service we had a good time! it is position on the place is excellent and if they have a window seat, it is great to watch the world on the living space. for me the portion size of the main meal was a little smaller and slower service meant that we were there longer than we thought. but for those who want to eat a cozy lunch in a great location with high quality, they cannot go wrong!"

"I had a great breakfast this morning. I recommend trying the smashed avocado with salsa and topped with salmon. For dessert, the New Yorker cheesecake is a must-try. The staff is lovely and I definitely recommend this place."

"we went to my man's birthday, together with his mother. she is the fraught esser on the planet and even she found something on the menu she could (and did) eat. my man had the blue cheese brûlée and I had the potato and soup for a starter, both were delicious. my mother-in-law had the blue cheese brûlée as main course, my man had steak and I had the fish and chips. all three meal times surpassed the expectations that the steak was made to perfection, the fish was in a crispy, but soft and fresh inside, the chips were boiled three times and very tasteful! we split a cheese plate to finish while mil cream had brûlée. the cheese plate was much for two and the cream brûlée was cleaned quite quickly. excellently round and very attentive and knowledgeable in front of the house staff. highly recommended."

"Tasty food on the set menu. Good cocktails £6.95. Not crowded at 12.30. Socially-distanced but young waiter held cocktail glasses by the rim; so in these times of Covud-19, more training needed."

"We kindly asked the staff to close the entrance door because of the freezing temperature and the lady behind the counter refused with the explanation that the Manager ordered the door to be kept opened. Then a male member of staff reminded her that they should close the door in case a customer requests. To our dismay, after few minutes, the Manager arrived and opened the door again. We, kindly, asked if the door could be kept closed because of the very low temperature and the Manager (wearing a jacket while serving, unshaved and looking like a homeless person) arrogantly refused arguing that he needed the door opened to attract customers. Well, you just lost many. The Manager stubbornly refused our pleas and we had nothing else to do but to leave immediately in disgust without finishing our meal. We issued a memo in our company to prevent anyone else to have the same awful experience we had at Blanche. Izabella Silverman"

"Had two excellent meals at this restaurant in the heart of Oxford. The welcome and service we received from Sam and his staff was terrific the extent that we decided to have another evening there for our last of three nights in Oxford. We reserved a table for 7-30 but arrived to find the restaurant packed as many were eating prior to going to the theatre. In spite of the crowds Sam spotted us as soon as we walked through the door and led us to our table. (the only one vacant) The service was exemplary, professional and very friendly, even though we had not been served by the same waiter the young lady from the first night made a point of coming and saying hello once the theatre crowds had left. The food was of an equally high standard and served timely in spite of the restaurant being so busy. Sam came when we asked for the bill and chatted to us and the bill was very reasonable. I would point out that we never left a tip as there was a 10% service charge less than other restaurants in Oxford. I rarely write reviews on restaurants but our visits to this restaurant were exceptional."

"My husband and I reserved a large table at Cote in Farnham for our family and friends to celebrate the night before our wedding. Although we had originally booked the private room upstairs, there was a floor issue and we were moved to the conservatory. Daniel handled our booking via email, his communication was excellent and he was quick to respond. The restaurant was very accommodating as our numbers increased, and they made organizing the event on top of our wedding stress-free. With 33 guests in total, we were all seated together and given a choice of menu. The pre-order process was easy and the team was relaxed and efficient. The room was decorated with fairy lights, flowers, and champagne to welcome our guests. The food was perfect with a variety of options, and the service for starters, mains, and desserts was smooth with no issues. The team at Cote should be proud of themselves for their amazing work."

"What a find on our recent visits to Gullane. We went three times whilst on holiday nearby. Dog friendly. We were made to feel very welcome. The food is superb. The staff are all very nice and pleasant to deal with. Unfortunately on our last visit our golden retriever puppy Bella became ill after drinking a lot of salt water on the beach so we had to make a hasty departure. The staff were so concerned and looked up details of a nearby vet. Fortunately Bella recovered after treatment from the Vet in Macmerry. I would certainly recommend this cafe. It seemed to be used by local residents which is always a good sign. Will definitely visit again if we are in the area. The scones are amazing."

"One of the most baffling experiences ever... Came for smoked salmon and eggs, and a granola. Waited 35 minutes, during which time the table next to us received, then sent back a breakfast (twice because the hollandaise sauce was cold. They left without paying for it. When we asked how much longer, there was some consternation and then ten minutes later they appeared, so Im guessing it was forgotten. The eggs were burnt, and the salmon was cooked (looked fried??! ..Im genuinely without any clue as to how this will have happened. We left without eating, and the guy who dealt with us was really apologetic but the (I'm guessing manager just sat next to us playing with her laptop. Madness. Don't know what the deal was in the kitchen, but something wasn't right!"
"The “beef three ways” was beautifully presented on a wooden platter. The steak was cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. The cylinder of compressed pulled beef cheek was just as delicious and coated in crispy panko breadcrumbs, providing a delightful textural contrast. The little pot of baby onions and slow-cooked beef was absolutely divine, rich and buttery. The chips were the best I have ever tasted, surpassing even those at Ynyshir. Our waitress, Evelyn-May, was a true delight. She handled the lighthearted banter from two older gentlemen with ease and made us feel welcome and cared for. We couldn’t help but admire her hair! I’m already planning a second visit, despite the long journey from Northern Ireland, so my wife can experience this wonderful little restaurant. All I ask is that Ed can promise to prepare the same dish to the same high standard."

"Spectacular. We booked for an anniversary celebration, and it was everything we could have hoped for. An experience like this is a leap of faith and No.6 is a pair of safe hands. The food is exceptional. The wine pairing package was expensive but excellent, and really took the food to another level. What set No.6 apart was the service. Brilliantly friendly without being overbearing, knowledgeable without being irritable when asked stupid questions !! a shout out to the sommeliers! So many special touches ... an anniversary card, personalised menus, gifts to take away, a map of local ingredients and suppliers, and a follow up email was a lovely touch. The restaurant itself is small, but accommodates enough guests to keep 15 or so tables full, with enough staff to perfectly serve everyone, without feeling noisy, busy or stressful. I envy anyone who can eat there regularly, and will certainly be back!"

"An excellent lunch. Spiced parsnip and apple soup with scrumptious bread and butter, followed by a melted Stilton and mushroom sandwich. My friend had the fish finger sandwich. Both relished with salad. The artisan bread accompanying the food I have to add, was incredible and sO fresh; everything was great quality and tasted home-made, presented with stunning crockery and cutlery. We shared a large pot of nice English Breakfast tea. The staff were superb, very kind, hospitable and accommodating. It was a gorgeous and substantial meal that kept us warm and energised for our walk around Stratford afterwards."
