"I booked a table for 7 people at 7pm online. I received instant online confirmation as well as an email to confirm our booking. When we arrived the staff said they had no record of the booking. The restaurant was only half full so they were able to seat us anyway. It was a Sunday and we had primarily chosen the venue as their Sunday roast sounded good and was served until 9pm. As we sat down we were told they had run out of Yorkshire puddings. Within 10 minutes they came and took the Sunday menu away and said it was now unavailable but we could still order from the standard menu. My mother in law asked if it was possible to swap chips for mashed potatoes with the pie and was told no, the mashed potato portions were already allocated to other meals. At this point we left. The staff did try and seemed sympathetic but were annoyed when we left as they had poured out a couple of the drinks order. The restaurant looked like a good place it was a nice setting but the menu was expensive and other diners could be heard complaining they had been waiting a long time even though they weren't busy. We were understandably really disappointed with the whole experience."

"Had a really fun evening here and enjoyed the cocktails, wine and food. Think the cheese portions are a little small for the price and they were not described to us on presentation which was a shame. Not sure why we only qualified for one Happy Hour cocktail when we ordered several within the hour but as I was entertaining, I did not want to raise the issue in front of my guest. Despite these one or two things, a really enjoyable evening spent in a nice place and would happily return"

"I made a reservation for a table of 7 at 7pm online. I received immediate confirmation online as well as an email to confirm our booking. However, when we arrived, the staff mentioned that they had no record of the reservation. Despite the restaurant only being half full, they were able to accommodate us. We had chosen this venue primarily for their Sunday roast, which we heard good things about and is served until 9pm. Unfortunately, when we sat down, we were informed that they had run out of Yorkshire puddings. Shortly after, they took away the Sunday menu and said it was no longer available, but we could still order from the regular menu. At this point, we decided to leave. The staff did make an effort and seemed understanding, but appeared annoyed when we left since they had already started on a few drinks. The restaurant appeared nice and had a good atmosphere, but the menu was on the pricier side. Other diners were also heard complaining about long wait times even though the restaurant wasn't very busy. Overall, we were extremely disappointed with the entire experience."

"We feel honest about Le Chalet is one of the best kept secrets in Leeds! This was our third visit and it became more and more pleasant every time we were! The staff (especially the owner/manager) is an absolute pleasure. They are always very friendly and welcoming plus, they know how to give each customer this personal note when providing their exceptionally high customer service and always with a smile. Nothing is cumbersome and they couldn't come any more! We have always appreciated ourselves in Le Chalet and this occasion was no exception! The selection of options on the menu is sufficiently large, so there is really something for everyone with many unique items that you fight to find somewhere else! During this visit we had the hot afternoon tea that we can no longer recommend! It was literally the best Afternoon Tea we ever had in every sense of the word! The portion sizes are fantastic, the taste and the aromas are purely exotic and the presentation is mesmerizing, so the whole setup excellent value for money! Special highlights for us were the chicken pasta bakers and the shells that were super freshly decorated and served. Every single article on our Afternoon Tea was exceptional quality and that is quite accurate! Le Chalet also had a wide selection of beautiful teas with a whole range of fabulous flavors. If you gently open the petals as if they flower in your drink when ordering the jasmine fairy tea is an extraordinary extra touch and bizarre quite entertaining. Le Chalet itself has a very special atmosphere and we felt very relaxed and comfortable during our visit! The layout, distributed on two levels, has a bit of balcony feel to it and is spacious, bright and warm furnished for all seasons. The magnificent chandelier hanging above the lower part adds an exquisite air of the class that is almost stunning when you see it first. What Le Chalet gives that something extra though, is the little touches that make you feel good! On the counter there is a small bowl of tiny folded pieces of paper perched with a small shield above, which says a quote. This little gesture made us feel not only satisfied, but, really inspired and we think that is a rare performance for a café / restaurant! If you haven't visited yet, you have no idea what you're missing. We are looking forward to our next visit! Le Chalet is not only the jewel in the crown, it is the precious pearl!"

"The setup at the cafe was a bit confusing - it seemed like we were expected to sit down first and then order at the till, which was inconvenient. Alternatively, we could have gone straight to the till to order, but this was not made clear by the staff. When I questioned the lady at the till about the pricing, she pointed out that the prices were listed on a menu that was not offered to us for dine-in. I felt the prices were not clearly displayed or communicated. Even the board only showed takeaway prices for a full English breakfast, not the dine-in price. It seemed strange, as most people wouldn't think to take away a full English breakfast. After a couple of inquiries and a double check of the door sign, I realized my mistake in overlooking the 'takeaway price' notice. An Indian lady who worked there proceeded to raise her voice and scold me about the pricing, which was embarrassing and unnecessary. Despite the unpleasant encounter with the staff member, the food was enjoyable. However, if I were to visit this cafe again, I hope that individual is no longer working there. With my experience as a former server of 10 years, I believe such behavior has no place in the hospitality industry."

"the personal was friendly, service was good and restaurant nicely decorated. but eating was average. first thing, came on time with a booking for 8 people. kellner went into another room, clear table not ready and fast 2 tables together. a. round and a rectangular. I absolutely hate that in what tries to be presented well. order drinks. orange juice, please! asked if we want fresh or not. we decided to be fresh. then a bottle of black orange came and it says on bottle of concentrate! that's not a fresh orange juice. that is as if the appetizer is fresh apple juice. Two roast dinners. big but this is it. no greener veg that is disappointed. but then we noticed that all the other table roasted had a few brokkoli on it. fish and chips, really thick, not nice, and looks like they were fried and then fried again to heat up. the tower burger was very beautiful and large. the chips look like we're frozen in a pocket! I was here a few times, not least, and not sure whether management or cooking has changed. we usually look forward to coming back, but this time not. yes I could have asked while I was there, but the point is, I shouldn't need."

"The staff in this restaurant are outstanding. They always go above and beyond without being intrusive. Even the guy who brings out the food from the kitchen stood in a very professional way with one arm behind his back and the other balancing the tray of food but he still managed to greet and acknowledge us when we came in and left. My elderly husband tends to mumble, so through no fault of their own they have him the wrong dessert. Everyone was so apologetic and offered us free coffee which we declined so they gave us two free kir royals instead which was most welcome. Excellent training- the staff here could certainly teach other establishments a thing or two about catering, as the food is delicious and well presented, and how to treat customers."

"I was quite disappointed with the tasting menu, which I find is definitely not worth the £80 per person. The lemon sole was overly salty and inedible. For the main course, we received a minuscule portion of lamb that lacked flavor, a tiny potato, and a peculiar fish dish that was hard to comprehend. The dessert was unremarkable. On the positive side, the drink server was very friendly, and the ambiance of the restaurant is pleasant. However, I wouldn't recommend dining here. I'm unsure why the quality was so low, and I dislike leaving negative reviews, but I felt it necessary to caution other potential diners."

"We booked a kitchen table at Chez Moi on a Sunday evening on a whim after a flying visit through Bognor Regis and couldn’t believe what a gem we’d struck upon. "We ate at Cote on 11th October, 17 of us for a work meal. We had a fantastic experience, we were well looked after from the minute we walked in. Our waiter was attentive throughout. The food came out promptly for all of us, and was fresh/hot and delicious. We ordered a range of mains and puddings, and everything was tasty and enjoyed by all. For a large group I was concerned about the service/quality of food, but everything was perfect and we will absolutely be back. Thank you!"

"Lovely traditional village pub. Very welcoming but sadly the bar man could have done with another pair of hands. We waited nearly an hour for our meals to arrive which they said was because the pie we ordered needed half an hour in the oven from the time they received the order. Obviously a delay in getting the order through to the kitchen. However when the meal finally arrived it was delicious and the barman deducted our drinks from the bill to compensate for the wait. Can't ask fairer than that."

"Overall, 3 out of 5 so 'good '. Starters were tasty, though the Camembert was slightly underdone (still a little solid in middle) and choux pastry a little stale. 'Vegan Burger ' was excellent, as were the french fries. The Beef Burger, though tasty had a pretty 'tough ' and 'grizzly ' beef patty and a bit overdone. Service friendly, and given it was christmas and very busy no high expectations here."
