"After a 40-minute wait, a waitress came over to apologize for the delay and informed us that we would receive a discount on our bill at the end. One of the main dishes, the mixed grill, arrived without the steak. The steak was brought to our table five minutes later, followed by onion rings that were also missing, which arrived after another five minutes. Unfortunately, the tomato did not arrive at all to complete the dish.
Another dish, the chicken and pancetta linguine, was served without the chicken. I realized halfway through that it was missing, but I didn’t want to wait another 40 to 50 minutes for a fresh dish, so I chose not to bring it up with the staff. The food itself was nice, but the service was frustrating.
When we finally finished eating, it took an eternity for someone to clear our table and check on our dessert orders. The desserts arrived relatively promptly, but it took a long time for anyone to come and clear the empty plates afterward.
When we asked for the bill, there was no discount applied. I spoke with the waitress who had mentioned the discount earlier, and she relayed the bill to the manager standing next to her. It was awkward because the manager didn’t acknowledge us or try to engage in conversation.
I understand that a 10% service charge is common for large parties, and we’re usually happy to pay it, but this time we felt we paid that fee for a lack of service."
