"The New Hall Tavern is open again..Reopened this August Bank Holiday. We dropped in to have a look and a drink. Really warm welcome and a cracking pint. Loved the story telling chairs in the window and the decor is warm, cosy and welcoming. Was told the full food menu would be coming soon, but they did have a pie bar..Good selection of local made warm pies. We will come back again. Good to see a pub reopened rather than closing nowadays. We were staying at the Red Rock fisheries caravan site down the road for the bank Holiday weekend."

nice eating and great staff. I wish I lived more locally, but we can only visit after work, because it is too far away. great food, drinks and atmosphere.

The best pie I've eaten in 2021! And I've eaten a lot of pies. Superb homemade cookery. Friendly staff and great service. Relaxed atmosphere, proper pub with an open fire, what's not to like!

In the words of Joanne Lumley....ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS, servings were massive, couldn't eat a dessert, stuffed. Thank you for a fabulous hostess, makes the dining out more enjoyable, extra chocs for my big grown up grandson x

Back open after about two years being closed. Done really well inside and great to see lots of people inside it again. I didn't have any food but they do pie, peas and gravy and are looking to do more food when the kitchen is finished. Great place to stop for a pint with a large carpark at the back. Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

"Where do I start with this horrendous experience. Pre booked mother days about 4 weeks ago for a really special day with my mum. The website said mother day so I picked the date and time. The reservation all confirmed. Arrived 12.45pm, were we where taken to the table and on the table were standard menus sandwiches etc. Told my mum we’ve booked mother day, so the staff gave us the mother day menus. 15 minutes later the waiter took our order. 5 minutes later we where told the mother day menu isnt available on Saturday. This special day surely can’t get worst. The staff didn’t have a clue about anything. Training or communication doesn’t seem to be one of there values. We ordered from the standard menu. It got to 13.20pm and our drinks still haven’t arrived. I got up to ask the staff about our drinks order which did and follow shortly after. Later tables started to get there food delivered to their table so we waited and waited. This was disappointing so I went up again and asked if they could check. Nobody returned to inform us. At 13.45pm the food arrived it was ok, but not special. I asked for the manager who didn’t seem to be available so I spoke the assistant manager who agreed to deduct off our drinks, which I thought was a good jester but should have been slightly more. She waffled a load of rubbish, so I just paid £33 for a homemade pie that’s didn’t look homemade. The good things the company I had didn’t spoil my day to much. The hospitality industry is being challenged with prices rises etc if this place wasn’t a charity I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t survive. You can have a great brand but if the staff haven’t a clue this brand will slowly get tarnished."

"Seriously completely understand there are changes this week to hospitality but my god! Walked in to reception and it was unattended, happy with that, sanitised and read the rules, got seated and then we were asked to move after we moved our seats 30cms, what a drama?! Felt like we had Covid! Starters fine. Nipped outside for literally 10 seconds to be head hunted, told off for not following the one way system that we were not informed of and then to be told our food was now sitting on the hot plate waiting came in straight away mains served, I have no words for the **** I got served, I would of have better at KFC and that’s ****. The waiter basically said the burger was in the state it was because it was vegan wow I had no words by this point, vegan should not be a factor, it’s a **** dish on your menu, if you were a decent waiter you would have tried all your dishes and know that you can actually get a vegan burger to taste and be consist of an actual burger made of meat nowadays and not be a sodden mess. You have ruined our date night, that doesn’t **** happen that often and your getting paid for this, just as a tip, I work hard, as does everyone and want to spend my money on things I enjoy! I would hope the staff in your restaurant would have the same appreciation but I really don’t feel that was the case never wrote a review like this and dine out once or twice a week.... sat here starving contemplating a takeaway happy date night to us"
