"I was disappointed that Caramel restaurant did not clearly communicate that they were closed for renovations. I made the trip assuming it was open since I was able to book a reservation before the 7th and checked online, which indicated it was open. It was very inconvenient and disappointing as I had planned to have my birthday meal there."

The dining room had pleasingly low noise levels, at around 68 decibels (normal conversation level). Warm octopus and potato salad had very tender cephalopod and good potato (15/20). I helped me choose what I wanted to order as it was my first time, so I had no notice, was not rushed. I felt very confident. I wanted to celebrate my day yesterday, so the contract was on my mother. sabrina also gave me free chai. "Greeted by huge smiles and welcomes from all the staff, service was like fine dining without all the poshness. Great value pastas were all £10 or under, very generous portions (we nearly didn't finish after sharing a tomato bruschetta and tuna carpaccio entrees). Had the seafood orrichiette in tomato, bean and chilli sauce and the linguine king prawns with olives and sundries tomatoes in napoletana sauce. All very good quality ingredients, authentic Italian cooking. Also can't not mention the yummy tiramisu (not too sweet- a great balance). A real gem of a restaurant MUST visit if you're in Bath!"

"What a little gem this place is. I usually steer clear of countryside/village pubs because most often have limited gluten free options but I was so impressed by the offerings here! Pictured are the GF fish and chips and GF Royal Oak burger, both of which were incredible. There were also a lot of other options available which I'll be trying on my next visit. Also dog friendly, super knowledgeable staff and overall a brilliant experience. Will definitely be visiting again!"

"We recently moved nearby and have visited this restaurant a few times for enjoyable meals. For Christmas, we decided to try their Christmas Dinner, which was advertised on their festive menu online. Despite booking well in advance, we were seated at a busy and poorly located table. Sadly, there was nothing festive on the table or in the atmosphere, and the staff did not acknowledge the holiday season. When we mentioned we had booked for the festive menu, the server informed us that it was not available on Sundays, even though it was advertised online and we had specifically requested it when booking. After some confusion, we were only given one festive menu for the four of us. The food turned out to be bland and tasteless, with small portions and no festive touches like crackers. Our past experiences at this restaurant were positive, but this Christmas Dinner was disappointing. We had a much better experience at another restaurant for Christmas in the past, so it's possible to have a great holiday meal out. Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant for a festive family outing."

"Both meals were over priced for what was presented on the plate and lacked seasoning as well as flavour. If you closed your eyes and had a mouthful you would struggle to identify what it was you were eating. A suet pudding, vegetarianvegan or meat option should be light, fluffy and full of flavour with a filling that has texture rather than just gravy and a few bits of extremely small mushroom. The suet crust was so hard giving the impression that it had been microwaved that it was tricky to cut through without making a specticle of oneself or sharing the contents of the dish with my wife sat oposite. "The dirty bottles had a few different options and the staff were very knowledgeable about ingredients and what could be changed to make things vegan. For starters we shared the tempura cauliflower with chilli sauce which was so tasty. The portion was small though, which the staff acknowledged before we did and took money off the bill very lovely! Then for mains, I got the spicy black bean burger with chips. The burger was so delicious and was dressed perfectly, it all went together so well. The actual patty was a bit messy as it fell apart. Although the onion rings weren’t labelled vegan, the staff made sure they were cooked in the vegan oil which made them suitable for vegans!"

"great first visit in this pub. nb: 20% discount on mon wed until september 2020. Tuesday evening was quiet and we sat quite fast on a clean table. the menus are varied and very good value and based on our experience were all portions for appetizers, main and desserts larger than all we had elsewhere. the service was very good, not disturbing, exactly right with friendly and happy staff who served us all night. our group had appetizers of garnelen cocktail, fried chicken strips and mac and cheese balls with salsa. These came very well presented to us and in portions larger than all we had before. they all had anointed with them. that huh was a bit overdue, but we all ended her happy. for the net, we had a rump steak, roasted chicken meat with sewn new kartoffels, sink and iron and sausage and maic. again large portions, very well presented. our people thought the chicken and sausage heads were beautiful. the steak was described as a good butbdry, maybe slowly cooked? and the cool sink would have been better if the ham were fresher. the desserts were delicious. we had warm chocolate brownies that come with ice cream, and recommend a brilliant white chocolate cheesecake if they like cheesecake. one of the best I've ever tried. just a lot of parking outside. excellent selection of cocktails. good wine options for reasonable trips. 20% discount on Monday to September 2020."

"I visited the farm shop today for a few items, it's a nice place stocked with all sorts of delicious produce and a proper butchers. Some things were a little expensive but you expect that from a farm shop. After shopping I really wanted a coffee and a quick bite to eat as it was approaching approaching the lady on reception she seemed to look me up and down and even though I could see lots of empty seating I was informed they where full. I think I was turned down because I had walking attire on and hadn't shaved....certainly that's what the look I was given felt like.I shan't go back to either the shop or restaurant and looking at the Incredibly high ratio of average, terrible and poor reviews they might not be there soon shockingly high. Seems management are not fit for task and have a very short sighted view of customers. The covid statement is acting like an apology for this poor customer regard. Its a shame as it seems one or a few people are going to cost a lot of people their livelihoods."

"have a celebration with my family. the personal, where very friendly and professional. the use of screen separated some from tabs I prefer. At some point, it's good to be just in your own blasphemy and safer. the food was so delicious and well presented. the server was very familiar with how you should be steak. "had a wonderful lunch in this little gem of a restaurant in sketty. the 3 course set menu for £18.95 was super! light and crispy fish goujons to begin, followed by pigs bauch on kartoffelmashed, surrounded by the most delicious sauce with a square of pork knistert and with a generous slice of kaviare cheesecake. we took our own bottle prosecco and the waitress brought to flee and a frozen sleeve to keep it cold! great service very relaxing very recommended x"

"we visited last year and had a wonderful experience with inexpensive, tasty eating. I brought the whole family back for my 4 year old birthday meal over the august bank holidays weekend. the prices were almost doubled and the food was at best moderate. The...£20 lobster mac n cheese had changed from a large part of the Gooey delicacies to a £31.50 child size part of the Bland cheese sauce. over the half of the muddles were still closed and the bbq was dry. the part of the child was hardly big enough to feed a 2 year old. worse was the service. I guess it was a busy weekend and they were fully booked, but we felt like we were an inconvenience there. we were harassed when we had set ourselves for our order and even when we had asked for a few minutes to find my 93-year-old grandmother her glasses and read the menu, we were harassed after about 45 seconds. the tellers were taken away in the second time that we put the cutlery down, regardless of all eating. my 4 years old was even told by a waitress in a west top, they need to eat faster charlie, it is a bank holiday they knew they quickly disserted his, but it was good 20 minutes before someone asked the rest of the table whether we wanted coffee or dessert (of which we felt so comfortable that we wanted to get out). very disappointing visit I will not make again. really remained so much money for average food and terrible service to pay."

"I came with our W.I. Members yesterday for Lunch which had been pre-booked. However as I could not choose anything from the menu supplied, due to being coeliac Gluten Free) I emailed The Boot on the 4th March to ask if they could supply a Gluten Free meal and Dessert. II was sent Allergens Sheets, which I did not need, due to the number of years I have been coeliac, emailed again on the 5th March to which I received reply stating they would see what they could do. Well sadly the meal I ended up yesterday consisted of a piece of Gammon very tough) a pile of salad and some peas. A really unappealing meal. The Boot states that its food is top quality, it even caters for vegans and vegetarians, so Punch who sets the menus, next time you are revising it, please add meals to it for people who have other dietary requirements. This is the first restaurant that I have been to, that could NOT serve a proper Gluten Free Meal, and I have been to many over the whole of the United Kingdom."
