"Went there on Saturday evening with another couple who we had not seen for years.Due to dress code, and having attended in the past were dressed suitably. However, we found that several of the customers were dressed in ripped jeans and generally looking scruffy. We were greeted by a male who showed us to our table who was wearing jeans which were hanging down almost gang style scruffy! Our waiting staff came over again dressed in black jeans. When I'm at a restaurant I expect to be treated with respect and to be called Sir and my wife Madam. I do NOT expect to be called Guys which is what our male table staff kept doing. We were talking to our friends and seated at a corner table which sadly had a speaker above our heads. The music was suddenly turned up and we were unable to hear ourselves talk. We asked for the music to be turned down which it was. However Guys told us it was because the staff behind the bar couldn't hear it. It wasn't really background music style either.Drinks ordered and delivered OK.Food ordered to find that there were two items on the limited menu that was not available. Both of which I was considering ordering. One I seem to remember was Scallops and the other was the Kofta starters. On the mains we were all surprised that there was no steak on the menu except in a salad.No-one had complaints regarding the food but a comment I would make is that the Buttered Chicken pie comes with Mash. However is was a miniscule dollop just enough to stop the pie from moving. The reduced all day menu we were given was not the same as the All Day menu on your website and there were various options missing such as no offer of batter halumi instead of battered cod.My only other issue was with one of the female waiting staff who was wearing leggings. I don't like leggings anyway but in a restaurant atmosphere and by staff that's a definite dislike especially when she bends over and they are not quite as opaque she would like or they should be.Food and ambience was nice but some details need attention.Would I return? Maybe!"

"we came and sat fast and ordered drinks immediately, which almost immediately arrived so well we ordered starter and net. whitebait and a mini-toad in the hole to begin and two children roast beef, extra yorkshire to go with the pig. a torte that we asked with new kartoffels instead of chips and an adult porn that I asked for bark and pigs and said I would like to pay extra for if necessary. then it went downhill. minutes after ordering our food, and after the appetizers were deleted, a waitress came to us and said: "I'm sorry we don't have bark" we were happy with it. not because they had run out, but because of the time she needed to recognize. they apologized. we said okay and waited. we waited a few more minutes for the most important courses. we have all starved and a little frustrated. the net arrived. chips on the plate not new kartoffels! the frying of the child, now both pigs were half fat and half a carrilled pork steak. not the roasted pork on the menu. no Yorkshire pudding in itself and the veg. bland boiled carrots, boiled black gray cabbage and what I can only describe as baby food flower casse. it was mush! my children said to me. “Daddy, that’s not great,” I couldn’t even contradict them. I couldn't stop mine because it was so bad and I never let it eat! the cake was good, but the veg was cooked again and darkened and the wrong potato peel. Once finished, no one seemed to come and clear plates, acknowledge us or treat us at all. I went into the bar and asked me to talk to a manager. I explained everything, she apologized and gave me the bill. roasts were taken off, but nothing else. I didn't think that was good enough, but it was late and wanted to go home. for appetizers, drinks inedible meals. very upset to say the"

"My partner and I visited on Saturday evening having had a Virgin Experience Days voucher for the Beatles Story and a three course meal at the R Bar and Brasserie. As it was part of a bundle we fully expected a reduced menu from what’s available on the website, and this was indeed the case. The starter I chose, calamari, was lovely but that’s where any loveliness began and ended. The tagliatelle I ordered for the main was abysmal, and had zero taste to it with the creamy sauce having less taste than a can of white emulsion. After 2 mouthfuls (the second I was hoping to be an improvement on the first , I had no choice but to leave the food. My partner ordered the burger which again did not meet expectations. When the waiting staff came to take our dessert order, we had to repeat it twice as she wasn’t listening the first time having been distracted by something on the TV screens behind us, followed by a “sorry what was that?”. You know how waiting staff often ask if you’re ready for them to take your order, well we came close to having to ask her that instead! The desserts we chose were subpar once again, with the lemon tarte being smothered in thick vanilla cream to the point you couldn’t taste the lemon the pastry casing was also the same one my partner had his goats cheese tartlet in for his starter. My partner’s brownie looked like something you’d stick in the microwave after you’ve picked it up from Iceland. Food aside, the restaurant itself wasn’t too great either. The decor, whilst not to our taste, we can accept was okay, but the cleanliness was poor. The coffee machines to the left of our table were filthy from splash marks, the carpet was covered in crumbs and dropped food and the (white! seats were very stained. It’s a shame because after reading the reviews from other visitors we thought we were getting a good deal as part of the bundle but being honest it’s the worst meal we’ve ever had (and I’m re experiencing it today as my stomach just won’t settle! . I hope this is a one off and we just visited you on a bad day, as surely being part of a voucher bundle would give you the exposure to gain to repeat custom moving forward, and this isn’t your normal standard."

"Booked online and arrived 5 minutes early, the restaurant smelled a bit strange and we noticed as soon as we walked in. I requested on the booking to sit in restaurant but we were shown to a table one away from the bar. I said we requested restaurant and was ignored as the guy walked away. Waiter came over a few minutes later and looked very stressed. We gave our order and were asked if we wanted pigs in blankets which used to be £1.99. We said yes please and then waiter advised they were £3.99. We just said ok and went up to get our food there wasn’t much of a queue for a change and I got my meat, good selection of potatoes and veg. Hubby wasn’t impressed with amount of meat as only had two slices of meat cut very thinly. He doesn’t like cabbage or sprouts so all he could have by way of veg was carrots and peas. There was no broccoli, swede, leeks, red cabbage, sweetcorn or parsnips. We both had gravy but it didn’t have much taste and was quite thin which made my mash turn into a paste. My husband finished his meal and there was no sign of the pigs in blankets, I asked the waiter to cancel them and they said they had just asked the kitchen, I replied we don’t want them as we’ve nearly finished our meal. The tables were quite close and the lady on the next table was quite large so each time she sat down or got up we had her rear end in our faces. (Not her fault obviously the tables are too close together). As I was finished the waiter advised they had taken the pigs in blankets off the bill. The waiter was rushing around clearing tables, taking orders, doing deserts, starters and drinks so we couldn’t get their attention for a desert so decided to just pay and leave. At £14.79 per meal we weren’t happy with the amount of meat and lack of taste in the gravy. Very disappointing and for that price we expected more. Quality has definitely gone down although prices have gone up"
